Release Spring Between Discs Patents (Class 192/85.4)
  • Patent number: 11226015
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a wet friction engaging device. The device includes a plate group engaged with two connecting members and including two groups of friction plates housed in a plate housing chamber and alternately arranged in an axial direction with surfaces facing each other. The plate group is switched between an engaged state in which the friction plates are in close contact with each other, and a disengaged state in which the friction plates are separable from each other. End plates at respective ends of the plate group are kept at a larger distance in the axial direction after a switch to the disengaged state than in the engaged state.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a wet friction engaging device. The device includes: a plate group engaged with two connecting members and including two groups of friction plates housed in a plate housing chamber and alternately arranged in an axial direction with surfaces facing each other; and a piston configured to apply a pressing force to the plate group. The plate group is switched between an engaged state in which the friction plates are in close contact with each other, and a disengaged state in which the friction plates are separable from each other. One of end plates at respective ends of the plate group is a movable end plate movable in the axial direction, and the other is a stationary end plate immovable in the axial direction. The movable end plate is biased by a spring.

  • Patent number: 8875850
Abstract: A disc brake having one or multiple axially movable rotor discs with annular friction surfaces disposed axially between an annular piston in an annular pressure cavity formed in a housing and annular reaction plate attached to the piston. Friction pads are provided on the reaction plate and also on an axially movable annular reaction disc disposed between the rotor discs. A positioning plate is disposed between the piston and rotor discs and has axially movable poppets thereon, each with a friction pad for contacting the adjacent rotor disc. Individual springs on each poppet bias the poppet pads, rotor discs and friction pads axially together to provide a desired initial braking torque. Upon fluid pressure applied in the piston cavity, the housing moves the positioning plate to move the poppets to release braking torque.

  • Patent number: 8813936
Abstract: A force transmitting assembly 20 transmits force to engage and disengage a driven shaft 28. When the force transmitting assembly 20 is engaged, front and rear annular pressure plates 32, 34 frictionally retain a rotor 36 fixedly mounted on the shaft 28 and stops rotation of the shaft 28. The force transmitting assembly 20 maximizes torque and minimizes inertia by providing friction surfaces with friction material substantially engaging the entire working surface of the rotor 36. The force transmitting assembly includes an axially moveable housing 22 attached directly to a mounting flange 24.

  • Patent number: 8733511
Abstract: A multi-disc brake, in particular for a road vehicle, includes parallel plates which are arranged at a distance from one another and which are rotationally stable and between which a rotatable brake disc is positioned. The radially extending plates and the brake discs can be pressed against one another during braking while overcoming a clearance and once the brake is released, the discs are separated from each other thus forming a clearance. The brake discs are pressed individually in the non-brake position by axially working restoring springs and/or in groups counter to an axially stationary stop, which stop can be rotated with the brake discs.

  • Patent number: 8376111
Abstract: A torque transmitting device having an apply/return plate or member is provided. The torque transmitting device includes a hydraulically actuated piston and a clutch pack. The plate includes an annular disc having an inner edge and an outer edge and having a first side and a second side. A plurality of tabs extend radially out from the outer edge. A plurality of drain holes are disposed through the annular disc extending between the first side and the second side and located between the outer edge and the inner edge. The plate contacts the clutch pack to engage the clutch pack when translated by the piston and hydraulic or lubrication fluid communicates through the drain holes.
