Patent number: 11578767Abstract: An oil feed structure includes: a hydraulic clutch; a power transmitting shaft coupled to the hydraulic clutch; a valve element inserted into the power transmitting shaft, and a spring configured to bias the valve element. The valve element includes: a pressure receiving surface facing in an axial direction of the power transmitting shaft and configured to receive hydraulic pressure of a hydraulic pressure oil passage; and a port communicable with a clutch lubrication hole of the power transmitting shaft. The spring biases the valve element toward the hydraulic pressure oil passage against the hydraulic pressure received by the pressure receiving surface. When clutch operating hydraulic pressure changes, the valve element moves in the axial direction to change an opening degree of communication between the port and the clutch lubrication hole.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2021Date of Patent: February 14, 2023Assignee: KAWASAKI MOTORS, LTD.Inventors: Masaki Nishiyabu, Satoaki Ichi, Jun Tominaga

Patent number: 8109377Abstract: In a clutch device wherein a plurality of clutch plates are relatively non-rotatably engaged with a clutch outer, a plurality of clutch disks disposed alternately with the clutch plates are relatively non-rotatably engaged with a clutch inner, and an end plate disposed so that the clutch plates and the clutch disks are disposed between itself and a piston slidably fitted in the clutch outer is relatively non-rotatably and axially movably supported on the clutch outer in the manner of being restricted in movement toward one end side in the axial direction, to prevent the clutch inner from coming out of position at the time of assembling the clutch device into position, thereby to enhance workability in the assembling operation, and to prevent the clutch inner from generating a collision sound by colliding against other member than the component members of the clutch device when the clutch is disengaged.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2009Date of Patent: February 7, 2012Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kinya Mizuno, Seiji Hamaoka, Eiji Kittaka, Kazuhiro Yasuda

Patent number: 8104598Abstract: A friction device for an automatic transmission according to the invention includes a retainer, a wave coil spring, a center support, a piston, and a plurality of plates. The retainer is disposed on the inner circumference of a transmission case. The wave coil spring is disposed on a seating portion of the retainer. The center support is disposed in the transmission case. The piston is disposed in a pressure chamber of the center support and provided with a return force by contacting with the wave coil spring. The plates are spline-connected with the inner circumference of the transmission case and pressed by the piston. Further, the retainer has a protruding portion to align the center axis of the wave coil spring with the center axis of the transmission case.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2008Date of Patent: January 31, 2012Assignees: Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Motors CorporationInventor: Jaejoon Lee

Friction clutch having a hydraulic actuator, and drive unit having at least one such friction clutch
Patent number: 7832540Abstract: The invention relates to a friction clutch having a single-acting actuator which is a piston-cylinder unit and is connected in a controllable fashion to a pressurized fluid source. In order to be able to carry out a fast pilot stroke up to the point at which the clutch makes contact, the piston-cylinder unit has a stepped piston whose first step of small diameter delimits, by means of its cylinder, a first pressure space, and whose second step of relatively large diameter delimits, by means of its cylinder, a second pressure space, a pressure line being connected to the first pressure space and, by means of a first non-return valve which opens at a certain pressure, to the second pressure space, and it also being possible for the second pressure space to be connected via a discharge line and a suction line, which contains a second non-return valve, to the fluid reservoir. The invention also relates to a drive device having clutches of said type.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2006Date of Patent: November 16, 2010Assignee: MAGNA Powertrain AG & Co KGInventors: Johannes Quehenberger, Dieter Schmidl
