An elastic strap affixed to the covering extends through the attachment hole and loops around the end portion of the first fastening element to connect the first fastening element to the covering such that the elastic strap permits the entire first fastening element to move relative to the covering by elastic elongation of the elastic strap. The hat can be free of stitching which passes through any portion of the first fastening element. The first fastening element can be male or female. Moreover, both fastening elements can be elastically connected to the covering via respective attachment holes and elastic straps.

According to one embodiment, a baseball cap includes a dome configured to be placed on the wearer's head, wherein the dome includes one or more panels and one or more cooling channels. The hub comprises a central cavity and one or more conduits in gaseous communication with the one or more cooling channels of the dome. A coolant output port is provided in gaseous communication with the central cavity of the hub. The coolant output port is configured to supply a coolant gas to the one or more cooling channels of the dome via the central cavity of the hub.

Abstract: A protective helmet including a visor attached to the external sides of the helmet shell. The shell includes substantially flat mount surfaces on each side which correspond with substantially flat portions on the respective ends of the visor. A fastener hole on the shell aligns with an access hole on the visor so that the two elements can be releasably fastened. The access hole provides space for a fastener to protrude out from the surface of the shell, allowing the visor to sit flush against the shell when fastened together. The helmet may include chin straps which are attached to the inner surface of the shell. The helmet may also include a catch strip on the front of the visor which protrudes from the visor such that it can prevent a cloth helmet cover (sometimes used in games such as Roller Derby) from easily sliding off the helmet.

Abstract: A pivoting shield assembly for hats is revealed. The pivoting shield assembly includes mounting slots arranged at two sides of a hat, a pivot base mounted to each mounting slot, a first connecting rod and a second connecting rod each of which having one end pivotally connected to the pivot base and the other end pivotally mounted to a shield, and a pathway groove disposed on an inner side of the first connecting rod. The pivot base includes an elastic locking piece which is mounted and moveable in the pathway groove correspondingly. Thereby lifting up and pulling down of the shield are more precise and having different stages. The pivoting shield assembly for hats is practical.

The unitary panel is selectively connectable to the headgear in at least one of a first configuration and a second configuration. The brim apparatus includes a center section having a size for fitting about a circumference of the sports helmet and a visor outwardly or radially extending from the center section. In one brim apparatus the center section features a stop surface that opposes an upper surface of the visor when the apparatus is affixed to the headgear such that the visor is prohibited from flipping upwards or sliding down or coming off during use.

Abstract: Disclosed here is an extended use mask hat. The principal components are a hat member, a mask member and an attachment means. Under conditions where there is no desire for protection, the mask member can be easily stored against the interior surface of the hat member. When there is a desire for protection, the mask member can be easily and quickly donned. The service period of the mask hat is extendable by washing. Several technological problems are overcome, including, individual and community protection from the airborne spread of infectious disease in a manner that is effective, not noxious to human sensibility and not overly bearing.

Abstract: Systems and methods of a safety helmet for protecting the human head against repetitive impacts, moderate impacts and severe impacts so as to significantly reduce the likelihood of both translational and rotational brain injury and concussions can be provided. The helmet can include an outer shell, an omnidirectional liner disposed within and coupled to the outer shell and configured to move relative to the outer shell, and a chinstrap coupled to the omnidirectional liner. The chinstrap coupled to the omnidirectional liner can hold a wearer's head to the omnidirectional liner and prevent the chinstrap from applying forces to the wearer while omnidirectional liner moves relative to outer shell. Other embodiments may include a chinguard with a movable chincup.

A sweatband extends along at least a portion of an inner edge of the head receiving portion of the crown. A brim or visor extends outwardly from a lower edge of the crown adjacent the sweatband. A plurality of vent channels through the brim permit and encourage passage of air from above the brim, through the brim, toward the sweatband and toward a forehead of the user.

Abstract: A face protector for reducing the transmission of pathogens (including but not limited to viruses such as COVID-19) between individuals, along with methods of making and using the same, are generally provided herein. More specifically embodiments of face protectors that are configured to be supported by the bill of a hat, visor, or other headgear are disclosed, wherein the face protector provides a physical barrier separating the wearer's face from the environment. Embodiments include side panels to provide additional protection and/or wings to provide additional support. Fasteners may be used with embodiments to secure the face protector to the brim or headgear. Radiation (such as ultraviolet light) may be used to sanitize air as it moves past the edge of the face protector. An embodiment includes a projection configured to cover the bill of the headgear.

Abstract: A brim shade has a shade element, a clip, and a hinge that joins the shade element and the clip to make the brim shade. The shade element and the hinge combine to create a shade that does not allow the light to get past the brim shade. The brim shade can be adjusted through 360 degree rotation and along the side of a hat to provide protection to the wearer.

The linkage mechanism has a first link with a first end connected to the outer shell and a second end connected to the protection shield, a second link having a first end connected to the outer shell and a second end connected to the protection shield, and a biasing member having a first end connected to the first link and a second end connected to the second link. The second end of the biasing member moves between the first and second ends of the second link during movement of the protection shield between the deployed and stowed positions.

Abstract: A safety hat assembly for enhancing safety and comfort of a user includes a hat that is selectively sizable to a head of a user and which has a brim coupled thereto. The hat is positionable on the head of the user with the brim extending over a forehead of the user. A pair of safety glasses is slidably engaged to the hat and is selectively positionable in a stowed configuration within the hat and a deployed configuration to protect eyes of the user. An earplug is engaged to and selectively extendible from the hat to allow insertion into a respective ear canal of the user to protect hearing of the user. A set of pads is engaged to and positioned within the hat to cushion the head of the user.

The face shield may have coatings providing anti-microbial protection, UV protection, fire protection, or combinations thereof. The face shield may also include a snap-on strip that is releasably connectable to a substantially transparent sheet of material forming the face shield and the snap-on strip may be configured to impart a shape to the substantially transparent sheet of material when connected thereto.

The retaining component is configured to engage the goggle strap when the pair of goggles is moved upward from the eyes of the wearer such that the rear portion of the goggle strap located to the rear of the retaining component remains at a position substantially in line with the position of the goggle strap when the pair of goggles is placed over the eyes of a wearer.

The open slot receives the bill of the ball cap.
