Abstract: A therapeutic compress system for treatment of a body part. For treatment of the eye region, the compress system comprises a deformable frame that is disposable upon the eye region and includes a first frame section joined to a second frame section at a central bridge. A gel pack is removably joined to the frame and comprises a gelatinous material contained in a pouch. A V-strap assembly may be required for securing the gel pack and frame to the eye user in a manner that optimizes pressure of the gel pack on the eye region and comfort of the user. The compress system may include a gel impressor that is inwardly deformable so as to contact portions of the gel pack with the nasal corners of the eyes of the user.

Abstract: A head mounted device includes a helmet with a guide, a lens frame, at least one display surface mounted to the lens frame. The guide extends from a cavity of the helmet. The lens frame is moveably connected to the guide and moves along an axis of the guide between a first position within the cavity of the helmet and a second position outside the cavity of the helmet. The display surface is transparent and configured to display augmented reality content.

The bill (20, 44, 104) is equipped with at least one eyeglass-retaining slot (36, 50, 52) sized and configured to receive the lower margins of lenses (30) forming a part of eyeglasses (28); the slot (36, 50, 52) may be designed to prevent substantial through-passage of the lenses (30) through the slot (36, 50,52). The slots (36, 50, 52) may be equipped with retainer structure (38, 46).

Abstract: A portable brim can be securely attached to and operate with various helmets such as bicycle, skateboarding, snow sport, mountain/rock climbing, equestrian, and paddlesport helmets as well as hard hats used in construction, utility maintenance, material moving, dock loading, and airport baggage handling, to give the wearer shade and protection from the sun. The brim apparatus includes a center section having a size for fitting about a circumference of the sports helmet and a visor outwardly or radially extending from the center section. In one brim apparatus the center section features a stop surface that opposes an upper surface of the visor when the apparatus is affixed to the headgear such that the visor is prohibited from flipping upwards or sliding down or coming off during use.

Abstract: The present invention is a magnetic segmented sport equipment for reducing the impact force on sport equipment using deployable segments. The magnetic segmented sport equipment has a body defining a recess, and a panel movable within the recess. The body and the recess each have magnetic elements associated therewith, with similar pole orientation. The panel has magnetic elements that are aligned with the magnetic elements of in the recess. A biasing element is located in the recess which provides a spring force against the panel. The panel is retained in the recess by an attraction force between the panel magnetic elements and the recess magnetic elements, which is greater than the spring force. The attraction and spring forces are configured so that the spring force is greater than the attraction force when an additional force in the direction of the spring force is combined with the spring force.

Abstract: An eye protector includes a lens configured to protect the wearer from projectiles, and an optically clear stack attached to the lens. The stack can have one or more removable layers. The eye protector also includes an optically clear dry mount adhesive layer attaching the stack to the lens. The dry mount adhesive may be self-wetting to attach the stack to the lens so that air between the stack and the lens can be removed after the stack is attached and/or adhered to the lens, for example, by applying pressure across the surface of the stack. The refractive indices of the lens, the dry mount adhesive, and each removable layer are matched to within about 0.2.

Abstract: An interchangeable accessory system for hardhats is disclosed which includes two accessory interchange assemblies that permit accessories such as face shields and welding shields to be attached to and removed from a hardhat while the hardhat remains on the head of the user.

Abstract: A visor configured for engagement to a riding helmet for horseback riders in an as-used position. The visor has an extra long frontal bill which extends around the helmet to side portions. The bill protects the eyes and most of the rider's face from sun and the sides protect the ears and side of the face. An elastic band provides a biased engagement to a helmet and optional vent apertures and retainment clips are employable to hold the device to a helmet more securely in high wind.

Abstract: A latching mechanism including a pedestal provided with a first hole on the surface, a second member provided with a second hole opened at a position overlapping with the first hole, and a fastening member whose one end part is inserted into and pulled from the first hole through the second hole, so that the second member is engaged with the pedestal in an attachable and detachable manner. In the mechanism, the fastening member is inserted through the second hole into the first hole and then rotated such that an outer shape of the one end part intersects with one of the first hole and the second hole so that the second member is mounted onto the pedestal, and then it is rotated further or reversely so that the second member is separated from the pedestal.

Abstract: A balaclava designed for covering a wearer's head and at least part of their neck has a face opening, and a removable, face conforming mask is releasably securable to the balaclava to cover part of the face opening corresponding to the part of a wearer's face below the eyes. The mask is designed to conform to the general contours of a wearer's lower face including the nose and mouth region, and has appropriate openings for breathing purposes.

Abstract: An audio pouch is provided that secures an earpiece of a headphone assembly adjacent to the user's ear when worn. The audio pouch includes an inner panel and an outer panel that sandwich an earpiece of the headphone assembly therebetween, such that the earpiece is disposed adjacent to the user's ear when worn. The audio pouch includes attachments that retain helmet straps. The audio pouch is particularly effective with protective helmets having Y-straps extending from the helmet for attaching chinstrap thereto.

Abstract: A retaining member for mounting an anti-fog sheet to a shield. According to some aspects, a main shaft of the retaining member, which is rotatably fitted into a support hole of the shield and has a head portion abuting against an outer face of the shield, has an elastic deformation part so as to absorb a load which comes from both the shield and the anti-fog sheet, and which acts on the retaining member by deforming the elastic deformation part.

Abstract: Goggles include a strap, a frame, at least one lens, and first and second connectors. The strap has opposite strap free ends. The frame has a lateral center and opposite lateral end portions. Each connector has a base portion for connecting to the opposite lateral end portion of the frame, and a strap-mounting portion for connecting to the opposite strap free end of the strap. Each strap-mounting portion has a strap connecting end where the strap meets the strap-mounting portion. Each of the first and second connectors have a first orientation for helmet-less usage and a second orientation for helmet usage. The strap connecting end of each connector is located a greater distance from the lateral center of the frame when the connector is in a second orientation than when in the first orientation.

Abstract: A shower cap including a piece of fabric formed into a generally hemispherical shape having a peripheral edge and defining a cavity shaped to receive a portion of the user's head therein. The piece of fabric may be formed from two separate pieces of fabric that are secured together. An elastic member is positioned adjacent only part of the peripheral edge of the piece of fabric and a remaining section of the peripheral edge is free of the elastic member. The piece of fabric is shaped to include an annular band that has a wider section positionable adjacent the user's forehead. The elastic member does not extend into this wider section and consequently this section is able to lay flat against the user's forehead. The exterior of the cap is fabricated from waterproof or water-resistant material and a soft, water-absorbent layer may line at least the band of the cap.

Abstract: A head-protector is described herein having a shell that is dimensioned to fit on the head of a user. The shell is formed with an opening to expose the face of the user. A locking mechanism attaches a lens to the shell and allows the lens to be pivoted between an operational position in which the lens covers the opening of the shell and a stowed position. Vents are established between an edge of the lens and the shell to establish an airflow over the inside surface of the lens to reduce fogging when the head-protector is subjected to an outside airflow such as wind. The vents can include a first vent that extends across the forehead of the user between the edge of the lens and the shell and a second vent that extends across the chin of the user between the edge of the lens and the shell.

Abstract: The shooting headwear is constructed with a set of protective eyewear that is telescopically attached to a pair of protective earmuffs. The pair of protective earmuffs attach to one another via a tilting head strap that is rotatably engaged so as to adjust to the contours of the head of the end user. The earmuffs each include a set of detachable ear pads that enhance comfort and remove perspiration. The protective eyewear is placed across the ridge of the nose of the end user, and aids in securing the protective earmuffs directly onto the ears of the end user. The protective eyewear includes telescoping armatures that can adjust telescopically with respect to the protective earmuffs. Also, the telescoping armatures of the protective eyewear are able to pivot so as to adjust to the particulars of the end user.

The utility instrument is shaped and sized to be securely retained and concealed within the brim portion of the headgear. The utility instrument is removable from the brim portion and deployed via a hand-grip of the utility instrument that is accessible to the wearer of the headgear while the utility instrument is retained in the brim portion.

A snap fit connector or hinge is provided on either the bracket (20) or each of the eye shields (18) to pivotably connect the eye shields to the bracket (20) for movement between the storage and usage positions.

Abstract: The present subject matter is directed to a ventilated eye shield for a ski helmet. The eye shield comprises means of rotatably connecting the eye shield to the helmet body, the eye shield having raised and lowered positions relative to the helmet body, a straight upper edge, a lower edge having a notch adapted to rest on the skier's nose, a resilient foam separator attached to the lower inside edge of the face shield isolating the vision region from the breathing region and air inlets on either side of the lower edge of the face shield. The foam insert is contoured to prevent snow or debris from penetrating between the inside of the face shield and the skier's face. Outside air may penetrate from the air inlets on the sides of the eye shield, ventilate and prevent fogging of the inside surface of the eye shield.

Abstract: A lens assembly for securing in an opening in a face plate of a face protector has a first, retainer lens of shape and dimensions configured to be secured in the front opening of a face plate and having a curvature substantially matching the curvature of the face plate. A second lens of smaller dimensions is secured behind the first lens to provide a lens-in-a-lens configuration. The lens assembly may be releasably secured in the face plate opening and the second lens is interchangeable with sets of lenses having different properties such as lens shade. The retainer assembly has a back cover and a gasket or spacer between the back cover and second lens to allow second lenses of different depths to be secured in the assembly.

Abstract: A detachable securement system for holding eyewear onto hats using magnetic force attraction and a laminated hook and loop securement strap assembly is described. A magnetic plate with rare earth magnets is placed inside the crown band of a hat. A receiver plate and securement strap assembly is located directly opposite on the front of the hat. The securement strap is a novel combination of both a hook and a loop fastening strip joined together adhesively to form a single, interlocking strap. The receiver plate is centrally located within the adhesive layers between the fastening strips. The strap when wrapped around the nose guard area of eyewear firmly interlocks onto itself. The combined use of magnetic force attachment and a single, interlocking securing strap provides a convenient means for securing and storing eyewear on hats.

Abstract: An eye patch is presented that is usable with eyeglass frames comprising a lens and side arm. The eye patch comprises a conoidal member to be positioned over a front of the lens such that a frontal and a peripheral vision of an eye is substantially blocked and a flap having a releasable securing device, wherein the flap is to be positioned over a back of the lens such that the releasable securing device secures the eye patch to the eyeglass frames.

The protective helmet (10) has a brim (14), and the eye protector (16) includes a bracket (20) mounted to the brim (14), an eye shield (18) movable between a storage position extending along the brim (14) and a usage position extending downward from the brim (14) to shield the eye of a wearer, a hinge (22) to connect the eye shield (18) to the mount bracket (20) for movement between the storage and usage positions, a spring (36) engaged with the eye shield (18) and the mount bracket (20) to resist movement of the eye shield (18) from the storage position and from the usage position, and at least one torsion member (38,50) engaged with the eye shield (18) at a location spaced from the spring (36). The at least one torsion member (38,50) applies a force to the eye shield (18) that urges the eye shield (18) toward the brim (14) in the storage position.

Abstract: A modified cap for the attachment of eye protective lenses or modified sunglasses via retractable arms movable in several directions can provide quick placement of the sunglasses on the face. The sunglasses which do not need temples can be partially stowed under the cap's brim or in a recessed compartment in the cap's brim, either of which may have friction points or magnets set to keep the sunglasses from dropping down. The user can release the sunglasses to position them on the face where they can be held in place by the telescopic arms that extend/retract according to the required placement of the sunglasses determined by the differing head size and facial contours of the wearer. Certain embodiments, therefore, allow the fast placement and removal of sunglasses in an efficient manner by keeping them close to the user's face in a safe position when not in use.

Abstract: A combination headgear assembly and protective eyewear system includes protective eyewear that attaches to a headgear assembly via magnetic connectors. The headgear assembly includes an adjustable headrest with first and second ends. The first end connects to a first spherical capsule having a first side wall, and the second end connects to a second spherical capsule having a second side wall. The protective eyewear includes a vision blade with a first end attaching via a first finger to a first telescoping member while a second end attaches via a second finger to a second telescoping member. A first magnetic connector is positioned between the first telescoping member and the first side wall of the first spherical capsule, and a second magnetic connector is positioned between the first telescoping member and the second side wall of the second spherical capsule.

The detachable safety goggles for safety is detachably attached to the safety helmet, and the wearing distance and angle of the goggles with a worker may be conveniently adjusted as the worker desires.

A continuous front strap is formed running from one fixing device to another, under the chin of the wearer and crossing the temporal line on each side of the wearer's face. Each front strap includes a magnetic or magnetically attractable element extending both above and below the temporal line when the helmet is worn with the front straps fastened together. Means are included for securing the body to the ear hole in the headgear. An indicia surface extends across the planar outer surface for displaying an indicia, such as a team logo or mascot.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for separating, and maintaining a distance between, a person's face and a protective eye mask worn on a helmet. The device is formed by two symmetrical elements disposed on each side of the helmet. Each element is formed by a flap (1) hinged to a support (2) by means of a rotation shaft (2). When the flap is positioned to the rear, the strap can be positioned normally. When the user pushes the flap forwards, the flap rotates through approximately 180 ° and becomes the new support point for the mask instead of the face. The mask is then held in place by the tension of the strap and a lever (4) that presses against the mask. A roller (5), mounted on a shaft solidly connected to the flap, facilitates the movement of the flap under the strap. The device provides increased ventilation for the helmet wearer and allows the helmet to be taken off without the protective mask being removed.
