With Cooperating Mechanical Coupling Patents (Class 2/195.4)
  • Patent number: 11039650
Abstract: A method of combining an auxiliary with a garment includes providing a garment that has an elastic strap attached to it, so that the garment and strap can cooperate to hold the garment in place on a person wearing the garment. The strap has a length with a perforation positioned along the strap length. Tension is applied to stretch the strap to enlarge the perforation, and a solid item that is tethered to an auxiliary is inserted into the stretched perforation. Releasing the tension on the strap so the enlarged perforation resumes an unenlarged size retains the tethered solid item and its tethered auxiliary attached to the strap.

  • Patent number: 7930768
Abstract: An interior shell component is in a generally hemispherical configuration. The interior shell component has a lower edge forming a generally circular equatorial opening. The interior shell component has a front and rear with sides. The rear has a generally oval-shaped hole. An exterior do-rag component is essentially coincident with the interior shell component. A tail has an upper end above the hole. The tail is formed as an extension of the exterior do-rag component. An adjustment strap is formed in the rear of the interior shell component and the exterior do-rag component.

  • Patent number: 7827622
Abstract: A magnetic fastening device with discrete slidable adjustments, comprising first and second sheets, each having a plurality of magnetic section elements with first and second poles disposed in alternating groups defining predetermined abutting patterns. The magnetic section elements are abuttingly disposed in two groups. In one group, the elements' magnetic field is disposed in one direction perpendicular to the sheets. In the other group, the elements' field is disposed in the opposite direction. The groups repeat themselves in an alternating pattern. The movement of the first and second sheets is constrained to keep them in an abutting relationship with respect to each other over a predetermined path over the first and second sheets, thereby permitting the sheets to be slidably movable along a predetermined distance relative to each other in discrete steps that overcome the attraction and repulsion forces of the magnetic section elements upon the application of a pulling force of a predetermined magnitude.

  • Patent number: 7188374
Abstract: A hat member has a lower rim with a scarf attached thereto which extends between the temple areas around the back of the head. The scarf has and eye edge proximate the lower part of the eye sockets and extends from there to an area proximate the juncture of the neck with the torso or trunk. The scarf is loose and has folds under the chin so that a coat or other outer garment can be positioned and closed there over without restricting movement of the user. The scarf extends from the rim down proximate the nape of the neck to protect the back of the head and he rear of the neck. The hat member has a crown into which the scarf member can be positioned and stored while the hat is being worn. In turn the scarf may be moved between a stored position in the crown of the hat member and a deployed position removed from the crown and deployed over and about the head of the user.

  • Patent number: 6829785
Abstract: A grooved size adjustment strap for a baseball-style cap having a crown body and a visor. The size adjustment strap, which is attached to the back portion of the lower periphery of the crown, is formed by an inner strap and an outer strap, each strap attached to a respective side of the crown main body along a lower edge thereof. Each of the straps is formed of a reinforcing material such as PVC sheet, with hook or loop material attached thereto, respectively. The outer strap is formed with the PVC sheet faced outwardly and includes a plurality of vertical grooves that facilitate shape formation and retention of the size adjustment device, and also assist in predictable size adjustment.
