Abstract: An article of apparel may include a waistband for extending around a waist of the wearer. The waistband may have a first layer and a second layer that lay adjacent to each other, and the waistband may have a plurality of strand segments located between the first layer and the second layer. The strand segments extend at least partially around the waistband. Additionally, the strand segments may lay substantially parallel to surfaces of the first layer and the second layer for distances of at least five centimeters. In some configurations, the strand segments may be bonded to the first layer and the second layer along the distances of at least five centimeters.

Abstract: A garment for a part of the body, and in particular a sport pant, includes an elasticity element, or a number of such elements, disposed on a portion of the garment, while another portion of the garment is free of elasticity elements. As a result, the garment can store energy by elastic elongation under a movement of, for example, a leg. This energy can then be released under a second movement of the leg in the opposite direction, resulting in the garment supporting the second movement of the leg.

Abstract: A hip pad is provided for decreasing a waist-to-hip ratio of a user and includes a generally elongated body having a hip portion and a thigh portion that are integrally formed with the generally elongated body. The hip pad also includes an interior surface of the hip portion that is contoured to an anatomical curvature of a hip region of the user. An interior surface of the thigh portion is contoured to the anatomical curvature of a thigh region of the user. A curved exterior surface of the hip portion is configured to decrease the waist-to-hip ratio of the user.

Abstract: Embodiments of sporting apparel, including, shorts, pants, trousers and so forth, are disclosed herein. In various embodiments, the sporting apparel may be arranged about the waist of a wearer. In various embodiments, the sporting apparel may include one or more strips of hook-loop fasteners (e.g., Velcro) that may be integrated into textile layers, rather than on top thereof, to reduce bulk. In various embodiments, a flap may be provided to be folded over all or a portion of a closure of sporting apparel, to reduce a likelihood that the closure will come undone, e.g., during combative sports.

Abstract: A leg handle with preferably hollow cylindrical sections, is used to aid in lifting a jumping player, especially for lineouts in Rugby. The handles are made of one or more foam sausages attached to a thin stretch fabric sleeve which is placed on the leg of the jumper and when jumping allow for secure grasp by lifters. The simple, reusable, easy to use leg handles provide effectiveness, comfort, convenience, and safety. Leg handles are applied to one or more legs of a jumper and held in place with tape. When the jumper jumps, one or more lifters lift and support the jumper in the jump while the jumper attempts to intercept a ball and safely lower the jumper. Leg handles are embodied with a single sausage; a lower front sausage and a higher back sausage; or a pair of sausages integrated into legs of compression shorts.

The clothing includes a stretchable front covering portion 11 and a stretchable back covering portion 12, and a gusset portion 13 disposed between an inner-crotch front portion 16 at the lower end of the front covering portion 11 and an inner-crotch back portion 17 at the lower end of the back covering portion 12 and covering the crotch of the person. A body 14 is opened and developed along a back center line S2 of the back covering portion 12, and in the developed body 14, with respect to a front center line S1 of the front covering portion 11, the back center line S2 of the back covering portion 12 is set so that the downward extended line of the back center line S2 approaches the downward extended line of the front center line S1 in a downward narrowing manner.

Abstract: A system for releasable attachment of a liner garment to an outer garment includes a tab extending from a waistband of the liner garment; a first half of a fastener pair disposed on a surface of the tab; at least one slot disposed near an upper edge of the outer garment, the at least one slot being adapted to receive the tab; and a second half of a fastener pair disposed below the at least one slot so that insertion of the tab into the at least one slot mates the first half and second half of the fastener pair and the outer garment is supported by the liner garment. The slot may be cut through the outer garment or may be provided in the form of a loop, pocket or mounting piece through which the tab may be inserted for attachment of the fastener pair.

Abstract: An athletic protective pad having first and second layers of breathable fabric and a foam body having a layer of perforated foam. The layer of foam is preferably closed cell foam with spaced apart perforations therethrough. The foam body is sandwiched in a secure or permanent position between the first and second layers of fabric, thereby wicking moisture away from a wearer.

Abstract: Garments designed to be worn in conjunction with conventional chaps to protect the lower abdomen of the wearer and upper legs of a wearer are described herein. Also described are garments that replace conventional chaps.

The garment includes a main body portion that is configured to be worn over at least a portion of the wearer's lumbo-pelvic region, hips and at least a portion of the legs, wherein the main body portion includes first and second leg portions that each define an axis. The garment also includes a strap system that includes a plurality of leg straps releasably affixed to the main body portion. Each of the leg straps includes at least one connector for affixing the leg strap to the main body portion. Each of the leg straps overlies a grip layer that is adapted to contact the wearer's skin when the garment is worn.

Abstract: Clothing such as shorts is capable of preventing seamlines between the left and right edges of a back body and the left and right edges of a front body respectively as well as the edges of back high-thigh-size portions of high-thigh size portions from adversely affecting the appearance of an outer garment worn thereover. Seamlines between left and right edges of a front body and left and right edges of a back body are positioned on both left and right sides of the front/back of the clothing respectively so as to come to the parts on both sides of the hips of a person. The edge of a back high-thigh-size portion of a high-thigh size portion is formed in a seamless hem manner, in a free cut, or in an overcast stitch for preventing the edge from fraying out.

Abstract: A compound garment is provided, such as athletic shorts having an inner and outer short. The shorts can comprise a suspension system to interconnect the inner short and the outer short. The suspension system can allow the outer short to move relative to the inner short in any of or any combination of circumferential, radial, horizontal and/or vertical directions. The suspension system can provide a bias between the inner short and the outer short to a resting or neutral position, and the inner short may be a compression short.

Abstract: A closure system for reversibly connecting interchangeable items of athletic wear includes at least one elongate connector. The connector has an anchor point attaching the connector to a first piece of athletic wear. The anchor point is located at a first end of the connector and defines a point about which a second end of the connector is angularly displaceable. At least one locking point is located on the first piece of athletic wear. The locking point is reversibly mateable with a locking point coupler located at the second end of the connector. At least one engagement point located on a second piece of athletic wear is capable of reversibly engaging a portion of the connector. When the locking point coupler is mated to the locking point, the connector and engagement point hold the first and second pieces of athletic wear towards one another.

Abstract: A boxer-style pant and methods of making a boxer-style pant having side seams and hanging legs. At least a portion of each of the hanging legs may be non-planar in an uncontracted state prior to formation of the side seams. The methods each involve providing at least one web. In some methods, a crotch panel is bonded to first and second regions of the web between two leg openings, and a distance between bonded regions of upper and lower edges of the crotch panel, measured parallel to a longitudinal axis of the pant, is shorter along a central region of the crotch panel and longer in distal regions of the crotch panel, such that the bonded region results in a bow-tie-shaped crotch panel. In some methods, a crotch region of the web is folded and stabilized along a longitudinal centerline of the web. In some methods, leg extensions are attached to at least a portion of each of two leg openings. Front and back regions may be joined together to form the side seams.

Abstract: A weighted article of clothing comprising a clothing substrate with weights attached thereto, the weights being made of a gel and being strategically placed so as to not interfere with the movements of a wearer and to not interfere with outer clothing or equipment worn over the weighted article of clothing and with the weights being arranged in a plurality of weight clusters and linking strands, with neighboring weight clusters being connected together with the linking strands.

Abstract: Described is a double-layer fabric garment. The garment is formed of a tubular fabric element that comprises a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes an initial edge portion. The second portion has specific areas of fabric with increased compression strength and an end portion. The initial edge of the first portion is connected with the end portion of the second portion, thereby creating a space between the first portion and the second portion and forming a seamless double-layer fabric garment. Thus, the first portion operates as an outer fabric layer and the second portion operates as an inner fabric layer, whereby the specific areas of fabric with increased compression strength of the second portion provide an increased shaping effect to a user while wearing the double-layer fabric garment. Therefore, the inner fabric layer provides a shaping effect while concealed by the overlaid outer layer.

The second pocket assembly is configured to receive one or more of the disposable plastic bags that have been filled with pet excrement. Each third pocket assembly is coupled to the lower portion of the garment structure and is configured to hold a tennis ball therein.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an improved garment for capturing bodily fluids. In particular, embodiments of the present invention provide a garment including a main garment body configured to be worn by a wearer and a capturing panel having a receiving surface configured to receive bodily fluids excreted from the wearer attached to the main garment body such that the capturing panel covers at least a first portion of said main garment body. The capturing panel is made out of a natural material, has a thickness no greater than approximately 4 mm, and is configured to transfer bodily fluid received from the wearer away from the receiving surface. A fluid resistant treatment may be applied to at least a second portion of the main garment body, which second portion may be identical to the first portion. A odor-neutralizing treatment may be applied at least a portion of the capturing panel.

Abstract: A multi-sectional waistband quick release undergarment is provided. The multi-sectional waistband quick release undergarment includes a multi-sectional waistband having a first waistband section and a second waistband section for securing the undergarment to a wearer's body. An undergarment body includes a front panel and a rear panel, which are joined to the first waistband section and the second waistband section, respectively. At least a portion of the first waistband section is releasably secured to at least a portion of the second waistband section, and at least a portion of the front panel is releasably secured to at least a portion of the rear panel. When a predetermined breakaway force is exerted on the second waistband section, the second waistband section releases from the first waistband section and the rear panel releases from the front panel; and thereby provides effective protection against wedgies.

Abstract: A tennis garment of fabric material and sewn construction has a front panel sewn to a rear panel with a waistband encircling the garment. A ball securing sleeve is aligned with, and joined to, the rear waistband portion at left, central, and right mutual locations, thereby establishing two ball securing sleeves into which a tennis ball may be inserted from above or below the sleeve. Once inserted, the ball is held in place by opposing upper and lower elastic bands within upper and lower hems of the sleeves. When desired, the ball may be withdrawn from the sleeves by upward or downward movement relative to the sleeves.

Abstract: The invention prevents leg chafing, and keeps the garment from riding up in the wearer's crotch area, by disposing weights on the garment. If the garment is an undergarment, then Modal® fabric, a bio-based fiber made by spinning reconstituted cellulose from beech trees, is especially preferred, as it is extremely soft, and wicks away moisture in an effective manner. It is an object of the invention to reduce leg chafing. It is a further object of the invention to teach a method of preventing garments from riding up into the wearer's crotch area.

Abstract: The new features that my invention consist of on biker shorts is a (7?/13?) inside support hip pocket that will allow a (4?/10?) ice or heat pack be inserted on the left or right hip inside the biker shorts, that will be fasten by a 4½?/?? Velcro strap. With this added dimension to biker shorts will give an individual an option to apply an ice or heat pack at their convenience or in the comfort of their home, work, gym etc.

Abstract: A technical pant garment 10 having an inner short 11 and an outer short 12. The inner short 11 is formed to tightly fit a wearer of the garment 10 and the outer short 12 is connected to the inner short 11 to fit loosely about the inner short 11. The inner short 11 is constructed to impose on or more leads on the wearer which act to affect the posture of the wearer in a manner tending to cause the wearer who has adopted an incorrect posture to realign towards a correct posture.

Abstract: A garment for treating white and brown fat areas on a human body employs a wearable garment with pockets for holding cooling inserts in positions to cool fat of a wearer. The pockets are configured at predetermined locations on a wearable garment adjacent to areas of the body having white adipose tissue (fatty deposits) to be treated by cooling. The pockets receive cooling inserts that stimulate brown adipose tissue to consume the fatty deposits. Preferably, the wearable garment is a high-waisted pair of shorts made with elastic material. The pockets are preferably located on the thighs, buttocks, stomach, hips, waist and lower back of a wearer, where fat is often a problem.

Abstract: A pair of pants (1) having an invisible quick access opening (2) along a center seam (10) of the pants. The opening extends along the center seam between a right leg (5) and a left leg (6) of the pants. The opening can be opened or shut preferably using an elongated zipper (12). When the zipper is in a closed position, it is not visible on the exterior surface (4) of the pants, thereby creating the appearance of a sewn center seam from the outside of the pants.

Abstract: A garment including a body of fabric having a waistband and at least two seams that extend from the waistband and a support structure that is connected to the at least two seams and the waistband is provided. The support structure further includes a pocket and a tape connected to the pocket that prevents elongation of the support structure between said at least two seams during the wearable life of the body of fabric.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a garment (such as a short, shirt, pants and other garments) having a stretchable section preferably of neoprene, that provides for improved comfort and wearability. The other panels or fabric portions of the garment may be constructed of a relatively less stretchable or even a relatively inelastic material, and the stretchable portion is positioned in an “area of flex” of the garment (so that the stretchable portion can “stretch” when the wearer rotates limbs extending into the garment). Related methods are disclosed for garment fabrication and the like.

Abstract: A reversible garment with a warming side and a cooling side is comprised of a double knit fabric including a first face and a second face. The garment is reversible such that either face may be worn on the exterior of the garment. When the first side of the garment is worn against the body, the garment provides a heating effect by trapping air and body heat while wicking moisture to the outside of the fabric. When the second side of the garment is worn against the body, the garment provides a cooling garment by accelerating moisture movement across the fabric. Indicia are provided on the garment to indicate whether heating or cooling effects will be provided in the first-side-out configuration and the second-side-out configuration.

Abstract: The clothes, apparel, or garment, whether it be pants, jeans, trousers, shorts, a skirt, a dress, a shirt, a hat, socks, sweatshirt, jacket, bikini, swim suit, bra, or any other possible item of clothing that has, or could have a pocket as part of the clothing, whereby a pocket as part of a garment has an opening for gaining access to the interior of the pocket. The pocket may include optional closure means or flap for closing the exterior of the pocket. The interior of the pocket may provide the full functionality of a normal pocket, but in addition, may have a second opening (which may take any number of forms, shapes, or sizes) within the interior of the pocket for gaining access to the wearer's body, and wherein the second opening may be closed using one or more buttons, snaps, clasps, zippers and/or laces or other closure means.

Abstract: A compression sport pant compliments the pelvic region and legs and supports the hamstring muscles of a wearer. A neoprene liner in the back of a leg portion and in contact with the associated leg of the wearer holds natural body heat next to the wearer's skin. A stretchable, relatively wide strap is wrapped around the leg portion over the liner when the garment is worn to apply additional support to the hamstring area.

Abstract: An adjustable compression garment comprises a first fabric portion that is moveable relative to a second fabric portion. At least the first fabric portion is comprised of a stretchable material that provides a degree of compression to a human body. A fastening arrangement includes a first fastener device connected to the first fabric portion and a second fastening device connected to the second fabric portion. The fastening device provides an adjustable connection between first fabric portion and the second fabric portion. The fastening device is configured such that the degree of compression provided by the first fabric portion may be increased without disconnecting the first fastener device from the second fastener device.

Abstract: Leg wear includes a front having leg opening forming portions, and a back connected to the front having leg opening forming portions continuing to the leg opening forming portions of the front. The leg wear further includes thigh portion parts connected to the leg opening forming portions of the front and back and formed into a cylindrical shape for inserting the thigh portions. The heights of the crests of the thigh portion parts are smaller than the curved depths of the leg opening forming portions, and the widths of the crests are made larger than those of the curved portions of the leg opening forming portions, so that the thigh portion parts having a cylindrical shape in the worn state are shaped to protrude forward relative to the front.

Abstract: A duty gear support trousers having a waist portion with a plurality of ergonomically shaped pads positioned within a hem around an interior surface of the waist portion and a plurality of vertically opening loops spaced around an exterior surface for removable placement of duty gear belt keepers. A duty gear belt having a plurality of accessories is positioned through the keepers so that the load of the duty gear accessories is spread over a wide area of the wearers waist.

Abstract: The invention relates to a garment which is intended for the lower part of the body, such as trousers or shorts that are fitted to the waist or hip, which lifts the user's gluteal region in order to improve the appearance thereof while simultaneously providing a high degree of comfort. For said purpose, each of the rear sections of the garment is equipped with: a plurality of built-in clips which extend approximately from the centre of a reinforcing line close to the upper edge of the garment towards the centre of the corresponding buttock; and a plurality of built-in clips which extend from the seam between the rear section and the respective front section, which are disposed in line with the gluteal region and which extend towards the centre of the corresponding buttock.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention provides a jock support short including a short member and an integrally-formed jock support member. The integral jock support member includes a pocket portion attached to a front portion of the short, which is configured to house a protective groin cup. At least two elongate members extend along opposing sides of the pocket portion and may intersect or meet at a crotch portion of the short such that the pocket and/or protective cup remains secured over a user's groin region during athletic or other physical activity.

The shorts include the use of a stuttered series of hook-and-pile patches that largely define the outer seams of the shorts, which are largely comprised of a front fabric panel and a rear fabric panel. The design of the outside side seams to enhance user comfort and to make access to the patient's body, dressing, etc. more convenient. In addition, the shorts provide features to provide convenient physical support for medical apparatuses, such as drainage bags and tubing, for example. Finally, associated methods of use for the medical-patient shorts are disclosed.

Abstract: Mascot type storage shorts that are compact at time of carrying, enable sanitary storage, and have excellent fashionability include a mascot-shaped body which is sewn or otherwise attached to any one of the front panel, rear panel or waist portion of a shorts main body, and the shorts main body can be stored through a storage port provided on the rear surface of the mascot-shaped body. The mascot-shaped body is produced as a mascot in the shape of a doll, flower, animal or other motif, and in consideration of convenience at time of carrying, a locking mechanism enables the mascot type storage shorts to be hung from a key holder or the like.

Abstract: The invention includes compounds used to manufacture garments for use in water based activities that comprise a rubber, synthetic rubber, or neoprene compound. The compound comprises primarily polychloroprene or other suitable polymers and at least one metal of nanoparticle size. The compound composition includes a metal concentration that is sufficient to provide anti-bacterial properties that retard or eliminate bacterial growth on any surface of the composition used to produce the garment. The composition may include a sub-micron metal composition including sub-micron sized silver, zinc oxide, aluminum oxide and boron nitride particles as well as a polyol ester, wherein the thermal conductance of said submicron composition is >350,000 W/m2 ° C. for a 0.001 inch layer of said metal composition, the thermal resistance is <0.0045° C.-in2/Watt for a 0.001 inch layer of said metal composition, and the average particle size is <0.49 microns for a <0.000020 inch layer of said metal composition.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention provides a jock support short including a short member and an integrally-formed jock support member. The integral jock support member includes a pocket portion attached to a front portion of the short, which is configured to house a protective groin cup. At least two elongate members extend along opposing sides of the pocket portion and may intersect or meet at a crotch portion of the short such that the pocket and/or protective cup remains secured over a user's groin region during athletic or other physical activity.

Abstract: Silver coated nylon fibers are disclosed that can be used to make fabrics that are silver coated on one side of the fabric. Silver coated nylon fabrics provide an antimicrobial surface which remains on the surface and retains its antimicrobial characteristic until destroyed. The methods of adherence of the silver to the nylon fabric may be performed in a number of ways. The creation of a single fabric with one side silver coated and the other side being dyed or left natural is encompassed within this invention. In addition there can be more than two yarns creating the fabric such as the use of spandex to provide a more elastic garment.

Abstract: A seat pad for a cyclist garment, a method of manufacture thereof, and a cyclist garment including the same, are provided. The multi-layer seat pad includes an inner layer for contacting the cyclist, an outer layer for affixing to the garment, and a compressible, resilient middle layer disposed between the outer and inner layers, wherein the outer layer covers less than all of the inner layer.
