Abstract: A two piece panty with one of the pieces being a removable lower or crotch portion. This portion has an inner section designed for the absorption of menses, and an outer moisture resistant backing that includes both a front and rear engaging means and a pocket adapted to hold a pre-wrapped moistened towelette. Thus, when the inner section becomes soiled, it is easily replaceable by disengaging the crotch portion and replacing it with a new one.

Abstract: The present invention is for an undergarment which can be used separately or in combination with a bifurcated overgarment. Both the undergarment and the bifurcated overgarment are designed with crotch elements which can be easily opened and closed, allowing body waste elimination without requiring partial disrobing. The undergarment has a slidable crotch panel which moves between a closed position and an open position. The overgarment has a closeable crotch opening which, when worn with the undergarment of the present invention, is aligned with the slidable crotch panel of the undergarment. The overgarment preferably has side openings which allow access to the undergarment so that the undergarment can be adjusted.

Abstract: Male underwear briefs provides for the separate receptions of the scrotum and the phallus of the wearer in respective separate receptacle means to maintain the groin area dry and clean, thereby preventing various diseases including moist tetter. The briefs of the present invention have a separate scrotum nest made of a net material for resting the scrotum in a non-contact position with the rest of the wearer's body, with a good circulation of air there around, and has a phallus receptacle receiving the phallus in an upright posture and an elastic element fixed inside the phallus receptacle for holding the inserted phallus in an upright position so that the phallus is prevented from contact with adjacent skin areas. This separate receptions of scrotum and phallus prevents the skin to skin contact of the wearer and the net of the scrotum nest improves the circulation of air, thereby preventing an undue moistening of the groin and thus the various diseases arising therefrom.

Abstract: This invention relates to a protective undergarment for an individual who is bowel incontinent. The undergarment provides an elasticized, double panel pouch that is suspended from a waistband whereby the inner panel of the pouch is drawn between the buttocks of the individual. An elasticized slit opening on the inner panel of this pouch is thereby positioned adjacent to the individual's anus and permits the admission of fecal material directly into the pouch.

Abstract: A disposable garment of pants type, such as a disposable diaper of pants type, is constructed by attaching respective leg-hole surrounding flaps and waist-hole surrounding flaps to respective opposite side edges extending longitudinally of a basic assembly for the garment which comprises at least a topsheet and a backsheet. The leg-hole surrounding flaps and the waist-hole surrounding flaps respectively cooperate to form a pair of leg-holes. A pair of shoulder straps can be easily prepared by making a slit which extends longitudinally of the garment on each waist-hole surrounding flap. A disposable garment of the present invention is featured in its simple construction and easy production.

Abstract: Athletic pants comprising in combination a plurality of basic panels extending from an upper edge at the front of the wearer's waistline, downwardly around the wearer's crotch, then upwardly to the back of the wearer's waistline and stitched together from the front waistline to the rear waistline, the basic panels being fabricated of a knit fabrication from extensible yarn; an elastic waistband coupled to the upper edge of the basic panels; a pair of support panels located interior of the basic panels and stitched thereto, the base panels being constructed of a knit fabric from extensible yarn and with the support panels also being constructed of a knit fabric from an extensible yarn with the mesh of the support panels being of a greater elasticity than that of the basic panels; and a pair of pocket panels stitched over the sides of the base panels in an inverted U-shape configuration and with an extensible lower edge having an elastomeric hem at its lower edge thereof.

Abstract: An elongated circular knit tube having a central body and a self contained waistband at each end of said central body is flattened to form a double layer of fabric having two longitudinal folded edges. The body portion is severed to remove selected portions therefrom and to divide the tube into two brief blanks. Coursewise extending severed portions are aligned and subsequently sewn together to form the brief crotch and leg openings.

A pocket member is mounted to the torso web to position a condom member therewithin. A modification of the invention includes a second pocket member spaced from a first pocket member defined by a fluid impermeable pocket structure including a zipper seam to permit depositing of a condom member therewithin, wherein the second pocket is arranged to include a tube member including a germicidal fluid that is punctured upon projection and securement of the zipper seam together directing germicidal fluid through a distribution conduit positioned below the tube member in communication with the second pocket cavity.

A receptacle is located adjacent the crotch area of the panty and extends along the crotch area. An absorbent pad for absorbing bodily fluids and a cold pack for applying cold therapy to the crotch of the wearer are inserted into the receptacle. Alternatively, the absorbent pad may be attached to the inner side of the panty to avoid soiling the pouch and panty. Mating fasteners on the front and back portions are connected to attach the panty to the wearer.

Abstract: A circular knit one-piece garment blank, brief, and method of making the same has a seamless body section and a double ply crotch integrally intermitted therewith in the form of a turned welt. The depending portion of the two ply crotch is sewn to the body section.

Abstract: Women's body wear is provided with a panel in the crotch area which is formed of open or loosely knit material formed using threads made up of a bundle of hydrophobic fibers having a large surface area and longitudinally extending channels to provide drier, more comfortable and "breathable" body wear. The body wear garment may be provided with an open knit exterior panel generally coextensive with the inner panel, and of the same color as the remainder of the body wear garment.

Abstract: A crotch construction for a garment of pliable fabric which prevents the bunching of the fabric into the median cleft of the body in the crotch area. A barrier piece of relatively heavy, non-stretch material is sewn to a strip attached at its edges to the cloth of the garment, so as to float over the cleft and prevent folds of the cloth of the garment from entering and bunching therein.

Abstract: The present invention involves an undergarment and an integral pocket secured thereto. The invention is applicable to men's brief, men's boxer shorts, women's panties, women's brassieres, and to pockets which may be secured thereto. The undergarment is generally made of a first material, and the pocket is made of second material which is different from the first material. The pocket has an elasticized band of material disposed across the opening thereof, the elasticized band of material being stretched taut across the body portion. The pocket opening includes a double density of material. Preferably, the pocket material is made of a plurality of stretch fibers which are oriented transversely from a plurality of nonstretch fibers.

Abstract: Reference is made to shorts or little skirt with an integral inner slip in which the shorts or little skirt on the one side, and the inner slip on the other side, are knitted together as one piece along their waistbands. A double layer knitting manufacturing process is described according to which the shorts or little skirt on the one side, and the inner slip on the other side, are knitted together in paralled rows along a common waistband running perpendicularly to their body axes, and pairs of shorts/skirts and inner slips are knitted continuously to subsequent pairs along common doubled seamed separating zones. Individual pairs of shorts/inner slips are then separated from the next pair and each pair is then subsequently folded into itself along a flexible transition point located in the waistband. According to the invention, the products are used to hold absorbant insert pads for use by incontinent adults.

Abstract: Disposable panty made of a flat thin sheet material having a soft fibrous material inside and a moisture impervious plastic film outside, the integral panty blank having a triangular front portion, a triangular rear portion and a narrow crotch strip and tape members. The tape members may extend laterally from the front and rear portions to form a waist encircling member in several embodiments and can extend only from the rear portions and can be connectable to the front portion by a releasable adhesive tab or the like. Each of the front and rear portions preferably includes an adjusting or expanding part to selectively expand the areas of the front or back portions and the length of the waist encircling member.

Abstract: This invention relates to a panty hose garment worn by a dancer or entertainer who is also wearing a revealing costume such as a G-string. This invention avoids the problem of having to roll down the top edge of the panty hose garment to be hidden underneath the dancer's or entertainer's costume. When the dancer or entertainer puts on the panty hose garment, according to this invention, it is stretched to a point such that the edges of the panty hose garment ride on the dancer's or entertainer's hips. The front slopes down in a V-shaped configuration following the contours of the G-string costume such that the edge is completely concealed by the G-string. The panty hose garment further includes a teardrop shaped crotch panel, such that the edges of the crotch panel do not extend over the edges of the G-string costume.

Abstract: An undergarment is fabricated with a body portion of a size and configuration to cover the lower torso of a person and with an upper body encircling opening and lower leg encircling openings. The garment is further sized to extend from proximate a person's waist to proximate where a person's legs join their lower torso and so as to cover at least the lower buttock cheeks of a person. Inside panels extend down and within each side of the panty and then in an arc across the area thereof to be disposed proximate a person's lower buttock cheeks. A relatively thin piece of foam rubber is sewn between the inside panel and the body portion fabric in the area thereof to be disposed proximate a persons buttock cheeks to shape and uplift the buttock cheeks. In an alternate embodiment the inside panel only extends across the area of the lower buttock cheeks.

The sheet is a composite comprised by a an imperforate liquid impervious sheet of polyolefin about 3 to 15.mu. in thickness and having bonded thereto on the same side as the adhesive a hydrophilic web of fibers having a diameter of about 5 to 20.mu. selected from the group consisting of polypropylene and polyester, the web having a weight of about 10 to 30 g/m.sup.2.

Abstract: In a garment, such as briefs or diapers for incontinent patients, which employ hook-and-loop fasteners, impairment of fastener operation by accumulation of lint on the hook-fastener tab is avoided by storing the hook-fastener tab in a pocket of the garment when the garment is being laundered. Preferably, the hook-fastener tab is secured in the pocket by elastic material so that it can be extended, stretching the elastic material, to fasten it to the corresponding female or loop-type fastener tab and will automatically be retracted into the pocket by the elastic material, as soon as it is released. The pocket may comprise PVC or other semi-rigid pliable smooth material and may be fabricated together with the fastener tab separately from the garment and attached to it is a "retrofit". Alternatively, it may be formed integrally with the garment.

Abstract: Improved garments of the present invention which may be a panty, underpants, panty hose, girdle, panty girdle, swimsuit, trunk, teddy, leotard, thermal underwear and other garments which may be worn in direct contact with the crotch region, are provided with inner and outer sets of pockets or equivalent structures to receive and retain flush on the crotch area of the garment, either a removable absorbent pad of a first size, such as a typical disposable panty liner, or a removable absorbent pad of a larger size, such as a typical disposable sanitary napkin. The invention may be provided in a crotch assembly including a crotch piece and a plurality of panels which are attached to the crotch piece in a manner to form the inner and outer pairs of pockets. The assembly may be used as a panel forming the crotch of a garment or attached to the inner side of a garment having a finished crotch as a liner.

Abstract: The invention relates to V-shaped briefs which can be produced in one piece and which consist of a preferably elastic crotch or gusset part and two side bands of essentially uniform width made of a decorative knitted border. The briefs are produced by continuously knitting single or double layer material widths which after having separated only need to be worked on along one seam or not at all in order to obtain the finished briefs. In addition, it is possible to sew on stocking parts with a very steep leg line. Production is considerably simplified and costs greatly reduced without adversely affecting the wearing properties and the fashionable appearance of the garment.

Abstract: A disposable protective lower undergarment intended for use primiarly by women while trying on clothing such as bathing suits and the like at a store. The invention is structured to fit around, and be held to prevent, the woman's crotch area from coming into contact with the clothing being tried when conventional lower undergarments are removed. Several embodiments are disclosed; however, a very thin polypropylene strip connected by heat sealing the looped ends of this material around a thin endless elastic band is preferred.

Abstract: An under garment is provided with size adjustment means for the waist-band in the form of a frangible tab that holds a pleat closed, but permits expansion of the pleat when broken. A tampon is also provided which has gore formed within the rear end portion so as to provide a more intimate fit over the buttocks of a wearer.

Abstract: An undergarment for incontinent persons typically constructed of front and rear panels. The front panel and the outer layer of the rear panel are preferably smooth nylon tricot and the inside surface of the rear nylon tricot panel has a breathable water-proofing material applied thereto. The preferred waterproofing material is a microporous polytetrafluouroethylene such as Gore-Tex.RTM.. In addition, the rear panel has an inside fabric layer of absorbent material such as cotton.

Abstract: An article of apparel, generally a T shirt which includes a fabric layer upon which is attached a three dimensional molded article providing a three dimensional relief pattern on a front part of the T shirt to enhance the appearance and provide opportunity for increased sales. The three dimensional molded part includes a flat based disc and raised relief parts with the disc being attached to the T shirt fabric leaving a hollow area between the fabric and the raised parts.

Abstract: A method of sewing a length of elastic about a garment waist opening in which after the leading end is sewn initially below and then raised to the level of and sewn for most of its length about the garment waist opening, the unattached trailing end is shifted also below the garment waist opening and sewn to the garment, so that both elastic ends, which may exhibit fraying and otherwise be unsightly, are significantly out of sight in their location below the garment waist opening.

Abstract: Disposable apparel shorts fabricated from a single blank of non-woven textile sheeting, the blank having opposing isosceles triangular indentations therein whose vertices lie at the opposite ends of a transverse center line. When the blank is folded on this line to form identical superposed sections, these constitute the front and rear sections of the shorts in which the upper margins of the sections define the waist, and the folded-over triangular indentations define the leg openings. The side margins of the front section are folded in and the corresponding side margins of the rear section are folded over the folded-in margins to define side vents in the leg openings to provide additional space, should it be required by the wearer. An elastic band is bonded in its stretched state to the inner surface of the upper margins of the sections to create a shirred circular waist which is expandable to conform to the waist of the wearer.

Abstract: A method of producing panties, briefs, or the like from seamless knit tubular blanks. First and second tubular blanks are slit longitudinally along the entire length thereof and when opened out flat define first and second panels. A third tubular blank substantially smaller in length and diameter than the first and second blanks is slit along one side to define a crotch panel. A crotch panel is secured to each of the first and second panels and the first and second panels are folded upon each other with selected overlying edges attached to each other thereby providing a panty or brief having front and back portions defined by the first and second panels.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a method of manufacturing knitted briefs and the briefs made by the method. In accordance therewith, two separate seamless tubular blanks are knit each with a knit-in waistband, a body portion and a crotch portion. The tubular blanks are each slit walewise, and the free coursewise edges of the crotch portions are sewn together by a crotch seam.Thereafter the side edges of the combined blank are trimmed to define the leg openings, and narrow elastic is sewn to the side edges. The side edges of the body portions are then sewn together. The yarn at the crotch area is then bulked to further reduce the crotch width.

Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for applying a thermoplastic adhesive to a portion of a garment in a predetermined pattern. The portion of the garment is initially loaded onto a conveyor device through a loading fixture and a powdered adhesive is screen printed onto said portion in a predetermined pattern. The adhesive is cured in a drying oven and permitted to cool. A cover panel is then placed over the adhesive and the cover panel is fused to that portion of the garment at elevated temperature and pressure. The resultant garment, preferably a woman's undergarment, possesses the combination of unique control, support, shape and aesthetic characteristics.

Abstract: An apparel structure based on the movement of muscles during movement of the body, and a process for making such apparel, includes an apparel structure constructed to be comfortable and to have excellent adaptability to movement without tension or slack. It also provides excellent shaping-up effect, can be applied to various kinds of apparel and is particularly suitable for female underwear and shaping-up wear. It is suitable particularly for working wear, sportswear, leisure wear, etc., in which the extent of movement of the body is large, irrespective of male or female.

Abstract: This invention is a disposable panty made from a single rectangular sheet of paper or plastic, having two side by side leg holes at its center, and then being folded over across the leg holes so as to form front and rear panels, and the overlapped side edges of the panels being taped together.

Abstract: A pair of incontinence pants or briefs includes a pocket located in the crotch region and defined by an outer wall of a liquid-impermeable material which is longer than it is wide and an inner wall of like material whose edges define a substantially oval hole. A portion of the inner wall overlaps, but it not connected to another thereof and the edges are crossed over one another at one end of the pocket.

Abstract: A disposable undergarment is formed of a single sheet of non-woven cellulose material such as paper. The material is cut into a generally hour-glass shape defining a front portion, back portion, intermediate crotch portion, two generally semicircular opposed cut-outs at each side of the material, a detachable crotch insert portion formed within one of the opposed cut-outs, and may include a detachable circular container portion formed within one of the opposed cut-outs and adjoined to the front portion. The crotch insert is secured to the intermediate crotch portion in superposed relation forming a double ply crotch area. The front and back portions are secured together at their sides to form a main body portion having a pair of leg openings and a waist portion at the top thereof. The outer edges of the leg openings and side edges of the crotch insert are folded over and sewn along the fold with elastic thread or rubber band elastic to form a stretchable elastic hem about the leg openings.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a pair of briefs and briefs made according to the method. A blank in the shape of a bag is knitted by means of a circular knitting machine. In the blank there are cut two leg holes in the nature of straight cuts from the hip bone and inclined forwards towards a reinforced middle portion. The cuts are ended about 5 cm from each other.

Abstract: A garment, such as an incontinence control garment, having an opening to accommodate a part of the wearer's body, such as a leg opening, includes one or more gusset folds at the opening and having at least a portion of the faces of the gusset fold, e.g., the lateral edges thereof, manually disengagably bonded to one another, whereby the opening may be increased in size by manual disengagement of the bonded outer lateral edges. For example, a disposable panty-type garment having leg openings which are manually adjustable in size is provided, each featuring the disengagably bonded gusset fold structure described above. Also disclosed is a method for making garments such as panty-type garments, by the steps which may include cutting articles from a web of material, longitudinally folding the sheet to form a garment having closed leg openings, and folding the material at the opening to form gusset folds thereat which may be selectively opened to provide larger sized openings.

Abstract: A girdle for use in preventing the discomfort of cramps due to a menstrual period. The girdle has a cotton cloth panty of a type having a front portion, a rear portion and interconnecting side portions. The panty has a continuous elastic material around the top thereof and has a battery holding compartment attached to the top to a central front portion thereof. An electrical resistance heating structure is attached to the outside of the cotton panty front portion and extends from the crotch portion thereof an upwardly and outwardly in a V-shaped configuration to where the battery holding compartment is attached to the elastic. An electric battery is removably disposed of the battery holding compartment.

Abstract: Panties, briefs or like undergarment comprises a front piece 2 for covering the lower abdomen, a rear piece 3 chiefly for covering the buttocks, and a connector piece 4 connecting the front piece 2 to the rear piece 3 for covering the crotch. The front piece 2 has a projection extending outward from each of its upper opposite side portions. The rear piece 3 has a projection extending outward from each of its upper opposite side portions obliquely upward and an upper edge 35 curved inward most greatly on the center line of the rear piece 3. The front piece 2 and the rear piece 3 are stitched together at the opposed ends 24 and 34 of their projections 21 and 31.

On the opposite sides of the depression 6, the rear piece 3 has rounded portions in conformity with the bulges of the buttocks.

Abstract: A panty-type undergarment comprising a waistband connected to a body segment having front and back panels which terminate at leg openings, with a crotch segment located between the leg openings and a crotch opening situated between the leg openings and separating the crotch segment and the front panel along an edge of each extending generally parallel to the waistband, wherein the front panel adjacent to the crotch opening has first fastener means and the crotch segment adjacent to the crotch opening has second fastener means releasably engageable with the first fastener means so that the wearer can selectively open and close the crotch opening of the undergarment by selectively peeling apart and pressing together the first and second fastener means.

The lateral sides of the holder are incurved and elasticized to form leg embracing openings. The waistbands are double vinyl and size adjustable with the use of a releasable fastener of hook and pile. Also as a liner when covered with fabric.

Abstract: The invention shows a protective, lightweight, disposable woman's hygienic panty for removeably carrying a feminine napkin during a woman's menstrual cycle or period. A relatively thin, lightweight, disposable, biodegradable, mesh-like outer panty shell is affixed to or contiguous with a relatively thick inner layer of absorbent material operably disposed about the inner surface of a lower body portion proximate at least the lower one half of the panty. Alternately, an inner shell or liner of relatively thick absorbent material having a pad-receiving depression can be fitted, temporarily or permanently, into ordinary menstrual panties or common panties or briefs. An elongated, nearly rectangular depression or indentation having oval end portions is included or formed in the relatively thick layer for carrying, aligning, or positioning a feminine napkin.
