Patent number: 5845335Abstract: A new noise making garment for producing sounds when noise pads are compressed as well as providing reinforced areas where wear is likely to occur. The inventive device includes a garment with a plurality of noise pads coupled to the garment. Each noise pad comprises a deformable bladder with a flexible wall that permits deformation of the bladder. The flexible wall defines an interior air chamber that holds air. A valve with a noise making device extends through the flexible wall of the bladder to permit the passage of air from the interior air chamber through the valve when the bladder is deformed. The noise making device creates an audible sound when air passes through the valve. Preferably, a noise pad is located at each knee region towards the front of the garment, at each elbow region towards the back of the garment, and at each sole region. Ideally, a reinforcement layer surrounds the outer surface of each noise pad that is located at the knee regions and at the elbow regions.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1997Date of Patent: December 8, 1998Inventor: Floleather Twitty

Patent number: 5806095Abstract: Safety Trousers comprising two legs linked by a crotch. The trousers are chest high and include an upper chest part and a back part linked by adjustable shoulder straps. The safety trousers also include a strap, permanently affixed to the sides and back of the trousers but free from the sides to the front. The free ends of the straps are designed to be retained by a flap which serves to nonpermanently affix the strap in a configuration reminiscent of a belt. A tether is designed to be attached to the free ends of the strap. In the event of a dynamic force that would lift a wearer off his feet, the flaps would release and the dynamic force would act upon the individual's underarm region. This results in the individual remaining in an upright and relatively safe condition. The invention is especially suitable for the sailing and boating industry.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 1996Date of Patent: September 15, 1998Assignee: Guy CottenInventor: Guy Cotten

Patent number: 5727254Abstract: Resistive exercise pants optimize resistance and enhance breathability by limiting the number of resistive bands in aligned coordination with the muscles of the leg. Additionally, hand stirrups are set forth that provide better attachment of resistive exercise sleeves to the extremities. In the resistive exercise pants, a single, wide band or two spaced-apart resistive bands generally traverse the length of the leg from the hips to a heel stirrup. Suspenders provide attachment of the resistive exercise pants to the shoulders, thereby holding the length of the body in dynamic tension. In the preferred embodiment, pairs of resistive bands run the length of each pant leg along the front and back in alignment with the leg's long muscles. The front pair of resistive bands bifurcate adjacent the knee to conformedly curve about the calf and to form a heel stirrup with the rear pair of resistive bands.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 1996Date of Patent: March 17, 1998Inventor: Timothy P. Patent number: 5659895Abstract: A stress transfer garment for an individual in a low gravity environment to minimize bone deconditioning and the migration of fluids to the torso. The garment includes members made of elastic or resilient material which cover the torso and multiple limbs. The members extend down the long axis of the body, with each member interlaced with the member on each side at least once to form a mesh-like structure. The garment is fitted for an individual in a first position, preferably the fetal position. Any movement by a part of the body covered by the members from the fetal position, stretches those members. The stretched members deliver a physical strain along the long axis of the body to the underlying bone structure. The garment may also be designed to deliver a physical strain across the short axis of the body which is greater across the torso than the limbs and is sufficient to prevent body fluids from the limbs from migrating to the torso. The garment may be formed as a one-piece or two-piece garment.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1993Date of Patent: August 26, 1997Inventor: Thomas J. Ford, Jr.

Patent number: 5478310Abstract: A disposable hyperbaric oxygen chamber includes a polyethylene bag which is substantially the length of a patient's leg and which is placed around the entire leg and thigh with the excess bag at the top thereof being folded over the thigh in order to fit snugly thereon without compression. A length of nonstretchable tape seals the top of the bag around the upper thigh just below the inguinal ligament. In an alternative embodiment, the bag may be preformed into the leg of a pair of disposable shorts to be worn by the patient. Oxygen is fed to the bag through the use of a hose connector secured to the bag. After the bag has been inflated with oxygen, the tubing may be clamped off and removed so that the patient can move about freely.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1994Date of Patent: December 26, 1995Inventors: Evelyna Dyson-Cantwell, John W.
