Both Ends Of Spring Move Patents (Class 200/454)
  • Patent number: 11289282
Abstract: A switch used in an operation device such as a mouse has flexibility, and includes a movable member in which a first end side is fixed as a swing fulcrum and a second end side swings, and a pressing member that presses a portion between the first end and the second end of the movable member by receiving a pressing force from an outside source. Bent portions that are bent in a swinging direction are formed in side portions of the movable member. When the movable member warps by being pressed by the pressing member, the bent portions resist against the warping of the movable member, and therefore an operator can have click feeling.

  • Patent number: 10686265
Abstract: A terminal stand is provided. The terminal stand includes a base body, a movable part, a metal elastic part, a first signal element and a second signal element. One end of the metal elastic member includes two first abutments. The first signal element is disposed in a second receiving slot. One end of the first signal element includes a first contact portion and a second abutment. The second signal element is disposed in the second receiving slot. One end of the second signal element includes a second contact portion. The second contact portion contacts with the first contact portion and makes a signal circuit. When the movable member is pressed, the movable member drives the two first abutments to move, and the abutment drives the second abutment to move, with the first contact portion leaving the second contact portion, and the signal circuit is in an off-state state.

  • Patent number: 8193464
Abstract: Disclosed is a micro switch having a high capability of cutting off a direct current. In the micro switch including a stationary contact, a movable contact having a closed position where it contacts the stationary contact or an open position where it is separated from the stationary contact, a movable contact rod for supporting the movable contact, a plunger for pressurizing the movable contact rod upon being pressed, and a leaf spring for supplying a driving force to the movable contact rod to convert a position of the contacts being contacted or separated, a permanent magnet is installed at a position adjacent to the movable contact and the stationary contact, so as to extend an arc generated between the movable contact and the stationary contact upon separating the movable contact from the stationary contact, whereby the arc can be fast extinguished.

  • Patent number: 7754989
Abstract: An electrical switch has a fixed contact and a moving contact arranged for movement between an ON position in contact with the fixed contact and an OFF position out of contact with the fixed contact, and an operating member for operating the moving contact. A spring co-acts between the operating member and the moving contact and resiliently biases the moving contact towards each of the ON and OFF positions through an over-centre action of the spring. An end piece is fitted at each end of the spring, which has a formation, for example, a groove, for pure rotary engagement with a part, for example, a pin, movable with the operating member or moving contact for imparting resilient action upon the operating member or the moving contact.

  • Patent number: 6051800
Abstract: An improved snap action or sump pump switch is disclosed which conventionally includes a housing defining a depression therein and being open on a bottom side thereof; a movable, U-shaped contact support bridge, a coiled actuator spring containing a standard pivot bushing on one end thereof and having an opposite end fitted against the bridge, and an elongated actuator arm or operating lever having a rounded end projecting into the pivot bushing and a pair of laterally projecting, cylindrically shaped ears adapted for disposition in sockets contained in and defined by the housing. Once assembled, these components are held in a stable cooperative relationship relative to one another due to the actuator ears being disposed in forwardly opening, rearwardly projecting slots defined by shoulders projecting from rear inside walls of the housing such that the compressed spring continually urges the ears of the actuator arm rearwardly against the bases of the slots.

  • Patent number: 5555972
Abstract: An ultra high production snap acting switch includes a blanked sheet metal tab for providing extremely consistent and repeatable operation. The switch simply includes a sheet metal M-blade automatically spot welded (or riveted) to a sheet metal spring arm. The spring arm has an integral tab pressed between two flexible legs of the M-blade. The stress imparted by the tab accurately distorts the M-blade so that it assumes a very predictable bistable operation.

  • Patent number: 5471024
Abstract: A flexible movable contact having fulcrums for pivoting the contact within notches of a terminal has a tab between the fulcrums offset downwardly and projecting outwardly that extends through an aperture in a flat U-shaped insulating contact carrier to attach one end of the contact to the carrier. A right-angle flat transition surface between the offset tab and primary plane of the contact abuts a convex surface forming an edge of the aperture to permit the contact to pivot relative to the carrier for self-alignment of the fulcrums in the notches. A beam of the contact extends obliquely away from the carrier and has lateral arms terminating in hook portions engaging an opposite side of the carrier. Ears bent over on the free end of the contact beam arrest overtravel movement of the carrier, which movement can be closely controlled by tolerances between the ears and hook portions during manufacture of the movable contact.

  • Patent number: 5095184
Abstract: A mechanical switch wherein a pushbutton is installed at the front end of an elongated housing for movement through a predetermined distance between extended and depressed positions. The pushbutton is rigid with a reflector for a light source which can be inserted into the housing by the pushbutton. The light source has electric contacts which are removably received in sockets of the housing to engage complementary electric contacts which, in turn, are connectable with an energy source. The pushbutton carries prongs which are integral with the reflector and have guide surfaces for a follower of the light source. The guide surfaces are longer than the predetermined distance so that, once the light source is installed in the housing, the pushbutton and the reflector are free to move relative to the light source between extended and depressed positions.

  • Patent number: 5089678
Abstract: A switch wherein an elongated at least substantially tubular housing contains a bearing member pivotably mounting a two-armed lever. One arm of the lever is directly coupled to a motion transmitting device which is rigid with a depressible pushbutton and carries a reflector for a light source behind the pushbutton. The other arm of the lever can move the front end of a stressed leaf spring which bears against a pivotable contact to urge the latter against an electric terminal in depressed position of the pushbutton or against an insulating stop in extended position of the pushbutton. A coil spring reacts against the bearing member and biases the lever to an end position in which the contact engages the stop; the lever then maintains the pushbutton in the extended position.
