  • Patent number: 8372248
Abstract: A water purification system having an oil and vapor separation subsystem for removing many heavy duty and toxic contaminants from the water. The subsystem removes volatile vapors from the feed water, heats the feed water, and by imparting a swirling vortex action to the heated water, the oils are separated from the water. The water separated from the oil is pumped by a high pressure pump through a helical coil that is heated to a high temperature by the burner. The high temperature, hot water is then fed to an expansion nozzle in an expansion chamber to flash the hot water into steam. The steam is passed through a condenser which converts the steam to purified water.

  • Patent number: 8262866
Abstract: A system for recovering products from a gas stream comprises a cooled chamber having an inlet that feeds the gas stream to a plurality of sequential conduit loops within the chamber. A critical orifice follows each loop, and each loop includes an output port. Based upon the physical characteristics of each loop, the sizing of the critical orifice following the loop, and the temperature within the chamber, different products are condensed from the gas stream through the output ports. The system may be configured to condense hydrocarbonaceous products such as ethane, propane, butane or methane, as well as fundamental products such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen or hydrogen. Gaseous products may be stored in gas or liquid form or vented to atmosphere depending upon amount, purity, and so forth.

  • Publication number: 20020092760
Abstract: A water purification device comprises a unitized self regulating water distillation unit for processing drinking water. The distillation system is simple, rugged, and inexpensive to install, operate, and maintain. Two internal float switches in combination with an in-line, normally closed water supply valve and with an internal and always submerged heating element that are controlled by an electrical circuit including two electrical relays that when effectively combined enable water to be distilled through an air-cooled condensing coil housed in a compact unitized body. A mechanical insulation barrier is also provided, insulating the exterior of the device from the heat of the distillation process as well as internally directing the heat generated by the distillation process so that may be exhausted. Water may therefore be processed easily and routinely on a daily basis with a minimal amount of effort, cost, and maintenance by the owner or owners of such a system.
