Four Or More Carbon Atoms Containing Patents (Class 204/158.12)
  • Patent number: 10590058
Abstract: A process for synthesizing a product of formula Br—(CH2)n—R by hydrobromination, by reacting: a reagent of formula (I) R1-CH?CH—R2 in which R1 and R2, identical or different, are chosen from H or an alkyl radical comprising 1 to 30 carbon atoms, which is saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched, functionalized or non-functionalized, with a molar excess of HBr relative to the reagent of formula (I), in the presence of a radical initiator, and optionally in the presence of at least one solvent, said process including a step A of mixing at least reagent I and the HBr, each of the latter arriving in the form of a flow of liquid into a mixing device dA.

  • Patent number: 10391468
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for the halogenation of hydrocarbon. In accordance with the process of the present disclosure a hydrocarbon and a halogen is introduced in a reaction vessel. Light having wavelength in the range of 390 to 780 nm is then passed into the reaction vessel for a time period of 2 to 12 hrs. to obtain a halogenated hydrocarbon. The hydrocarbon is agitated before or after the introduction of the halogen in to the reaction vessel.

  • Patent number: 10011783
Abstract: A method is provided involving altering the viscosity of bio-derived paraffins to produce a paraffinic fluid, where the altering step includes oligomerizing the bio-derived paraffins to produce an oligomerized product; the bio-derived paraffins include a hydrodeoxygenated product produced by hydrodeoxygenating a bio-based feed where the bio-based feed includes bio-derived fatty acids, fatty acid esters, or a combination thereof; the bio-derived paraffins include n-paraffins; and the n-paraffins have a biodegradability of at least 40% after about 23 days of exposure to microorganisms. Also provided are methods of protecting and/or cleaning a substance by applying the paraffinic fluid.
