Abstract: Arrangements described herein include coating application systems and methods for controlling such systems. The system can include an application end configured to be operatively connected to a robot arm. The application end can include one or more nozzles to dispense a coating onto a workpiece. The application end can further include one or more brushes to brush a portion of the coating dispensed onto the workpiece. The brush can be moveable between a retracted position and a deployed position. In some arrangements, the systems can include a cleaning tool to remove excess coating from the brush after brushing.

Abstract: A delivery system for flowable substances includes a squeezable container having a sealed proximal end, a sealed distal end having a dispensing neck, and an outer wall that surrounds a storage reservoir. The delivery system has a container support frame assembled with the squeezable container having a proximal edge secured to the sealed proximal end of the squeezable container, a distal edge secured to the dispensing neck of the squeezable container, and first and second lateral edges extending between the proximal and distal edges and overlying opposing sides of the squeezable container. The proximal and distal edges and the first and second lateral edges define a central opening of the container support frame that provides access to the outer wall of the squeezable container. The container support frame has an elongated handle that extends proximally from the proximal edge of the container support frame.

Abstract: A sterile injector comprises a body having a cavity, a hollow needle positionable at a distal end of the injector, a probe holder receivable within the needle, a probe connected to a distal end of the holder, and a driving element axially displaceable within the cavity, for causing relative motion between the probe and the needle upon displacement of the driving element. A sample is injected into a sealed container by displacing the driving element to a first position causing the probe to extend from the needle, applying the extended probe with a sample, displacing the driving element to a second position causing the sample laden probe to be retracted within the needle, piercing a seal of a sealed container with the needle, and displacing the driving element to a third position distally spaced from the first position, after which the probe is injected into the container interior.

Abstract: In one example, we describe a method and system for facial brush or body brush, for cleaning the skin. In one example, it utilizes distinct parts: a powered facial brush handle with the ability of offering both an oscillating and rotary setting, removable brush heads of varying materials and compositions, and a charging base station with a protective germicidal UVC sanitizing and drying chamber. User convenience is also central to our solution. All the functional actions of the protective germicidal UVC sanitizing and heating chamber are activated once the brush handle and brush head is placed within it, in one example. Mode control allows the user to choose the right setting for them, offering a mild setting for sensitive skin and normal for balanced skin types. A set duration of brush activation allows the user to orchestrate a complete cleaning. Various examples and variations are presented.

Abstract: A brush care system for cleaning and drying brushes used in cosmetic or fine art painting applications comprises a washing vessel and a drying vessel. The washing vessel includes a cleaner having a cleaning surface against which the bristles of a brush can be agitated for cleaning. The washing vessel and the drying vessel can be secured together for convenient storage and to enclose and store the cleaner. The drying vessel functions as a stand for drying cleaned brushes and includes walls having one or more apertures for ventilating the vessel. The washing vessel may include one or more partitions.

Abstract: Apparatus for holding and drying paint brushes is utilized with a paint bucket and includes a lid structure including brush handle retention elements for covering the bucket, a base containing liquid absorbent material to absorb paint or other liquids from the paint brushes, and a connector connecting the base and lid structure.

Abstract: A disposable sterile breakable vial includes a handle section and a vial section which are completely separable in response to a manually applied separation force. The vial section includes a sterile void dimensioned to contain a unit dose of a sterile therapeutic topical agent. An elongated member comprises a proximal portion supported by the handle section and a distal portion provided with a sterile applicator element, such as a brush. At least the applicator element is completely enclosed within the vial section with the applicator element immersed within the therapeutic topical agent. A hermetic seal between the handle and vial sections maintains sterility of at least the vial section prior to handle and vial section separation. Complete separation of the handle section and the vial section exposes the elongated member and the applicator element for topical application of the therapeutic agent saturating the applicator element.

Abstract: A brush, particularly a vibrating paint brush, has a tapered connection with a detachable brush head. A damper sufficiently flexible to reduce the amplitude of vibration of the grip portion and sufficiently rigid to enable use as an ordinary paint brush may be provided between a grip and an active portion of the handle. The vibration measured at the root of the bristles may have an amplitude in the range 1.5 to 3.5 mm and a frequency in the range 60 to 100 Hz.

Abstract: The paint brush cleaning and carrying device provides the advantage of a vented transparent pail with brush viewing from the exterior. The sealable removable lid provides tubular brush handle holders, each handle holder twistable and having varied height multiple pairs of orifices. Removable pins pass through the orifices and through existing holes in existing paint brush handles to dangle the brushes downwardly into selectively disposed brush solvents. The lipped removable lid can be inverted and returned atop the pail for brush drainage without solvent loss.

Abstract: A paintbrush protection and revitalization system includes a case having a paintbrush support shelf with graduated bristle support projections and tapered tip support therein. The case has auto-convection ports, an air induction port and a brush insertion port. The auto-convection ports include at least one air inlet port and at least one water vapor exchange port for reducing drying time of a paintbrush contained within the case. A living hinge connects a cover to the case with the case, the cover and the living hinge being an integrally-molded unit, which is preferably made of plastic.

Abstract: A ventilated toothbrush holder having filtered ventilation is provided. The toothbrush holder has a container, or first web, and a re-closable cover, or second web flexibly coupled to the first web. In a first embodiment, the second web has an opening that is covered by a fine-mesh polymeric filter that resists the entry of water and other liquids but allows the flow of air. In a second embodiment, the first web also has an opening covered by the same type of filter to enhance air flow into the first web and out of the second web. An exemplary shape is claimed, but other embodiments are not limited as to shape. An insert for supporting toothbrushes, adapted in shape to the first web, is disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus and cosmetic brush for reducing bacteria. The apparatus includes a sterilized cosmetic brush in a re-useable enclosure, wherein the re-useable enclosure is designed to be used during the entire life span of the cosmetic brush. The re-useable enclosure shields the sterilized brush from bacteria during shipping and sale display. Once the apparatus and brush are purchased, the re-useable enclosure and the bacteria resistant brush handle prevent the growth and spread of bacteria to other brushes. Finally, the apparatus prevents bacteria spread and growth within the re-useable enclosure by not allowing the brush and handle to touch the inner surface of the re-useable enclosure.

Abstract: The paint brush protective caddy of the present invention is an open-top compartment bounded by a back, two sides, a bottom, and a front flap. The front flap is openable for inserting a brush in the compartment. To be openable, the front flap is attached to the bottom by a hinge. Alternatively, the bottom and front flap form a relatively rigid 90° corner and the caddy is composed of a material that will bend as a result of application of a moderate amount of force. The brush bristles fit into the compartment and is secured by a flexible strap that extends over the brush from the back. At least one surface includes a multitude of through holes to provide air circulation for allowing the brush to dry.

The brush is normally positioned in the connecting cover of the cover unit. To do makeup, the revolving cover is rotated with the revolving base, and simultaneously the brush is extended out of the cover unit.

Abstract: A toothbrush holder comprises a container with a neck, and a lid wherein the lid seals the neck of the container and has an aperture for accepting a toothbrush handle. The lid is made from a material that is soft and pliable so that the material of the lid will conform to the handle of a toothbrush inserted through the aperture to retain the toothbrush in the aperture and substantially seal the container. Alternatively, the lid may be manufactured as an integral part of the toothbrush handle to eliminate any possibility of a leak.

Abstract: A paint brush cover for protecting a plurality of bristles of a paint brush has a body member having a hollow interior section. The body member has a first section and a second section wherein a first side of the first section is permanently coupled to a first side of the second section and a second side of the first section being removably coupled to a second side of the second section. A plurality of openings are located on the body member for allowing air to circulate within the cover. A central opening is formed on a bottom surface of the body member for allowing a handle of the paint brush to protrude out of the cover.

Abstract: A toothbrush sanitizing assembly having a detachable toothbrush and receptacle. The receptacle is preferably cylindrically shaped with a closed base, an open top and a sidewall that extends from the base to the top. A receptacle cover is an integral part of the toothbrush and is attached to the neck of the toothbrush. Mateable threads, a snap fit mechanism or other type of detachable fastening means are positioned near the top of the receptacle sidewall and on the receptacle cover. A hook is positioned at the distal end of the toothbrush handle and/or on the receptacle sidewall for hanging the assembly in a vertical position. A flat receptacle base also allows the assembly to be free standing on a flat surface. In use, the brush head is immersed in a liquid antiseptic contained in the receptacle by fastening the cover to the receptacle with the detachable fastening means.

Abstract: A storage system for paint roller sleeves defining a core cavity. The storage system comprises a bucket member, a lid member, and a roller projection. The bucket member defines a bucket chamber and an upper edge, and paint is arranged within the bucket chamber. The lid member defines an edge wall adapted to engage the upper edge of the bucket member. The roller projection extends into the bucket chamber to support the paint roller sleeve within the bucket chamber. The roller projection defines at least one roller surface sized and dimensioned to engage the core cavity of the paint roller sleeve. The lid member seals the bucket chamber and thereby inhibits drying of the paint stored within the bucket chamber, including any paint on the roller sleeve suspended therein by the roller projection.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a swab storage unit, that has an automatic swab extraction and retention structure and a methods of extracting a swab and manufacturing the unit. In one embodiment, the unit includes: (1) a container adapted to receive at least one swab having a fiber-tipped head and maintain the head proximate an opening thereof and (2) a cap, adapted to mate with and cover the opening, that has barbs coupled thereto to engage fibers of the fiber-tipped head and exert an extraction force to withdraw the swab from within the container as the cap is separated therefrom.
