  • Patent number: 6592092
Abstract: The nature of the invention is to facilitate the complete use of substances that are packaged in containers with odd or irregular shaped tops that double as the dispenser for the substance in the container. As is the rule with gravity, when a container of glue, for example, with a small cone-shaped top/dispenser is placed in storage, the glue settles to the bottom of the container. In order to use as much of the glue as possible, and do so in a timely manner (the value of which increases as the container nears empty), it becomes necessary to either lean or prop the container against a solid object while waiting for the glue to settle on the inverted top prior to dispensing, an action not always desirable or feasible. The cube-shaped invention with varying openings in each side allows for storage in the inverted position of a variety of odd-shaped top/dispenser containers; thereby, permitting easy, rapid use of the substance within a container, especially as the container nears empty.

  • Patent number: 6375002
Abstract: A liquid product carrying plastic film pouch having a straw which is free-floating in the liquid product, is described. The liquid product contained within the inner chamber of the pouch occupies from about 60% to about 90% of the volume of the inner chamber sufficient to permit the side walls of the pouch to be collapsed against one another when the pouch is grasped by the hand of a user person whereby to orient the straw at a desired location. The pouch is made of a multilayer resin film having an inner sealant layer formed of a linear low density ethylene-octene copolymer or very low density ethylene copolymer (octene or other copolymers) such that when the straw punctures the film, the inner sealant layer forms a membrane about the straw which exhibits a self-sealing behavior so as to prevent leakage in the punctured region as liquid is extracted from the pouch through the straw.

Abstract: A bottle for beverages (FIG. 1) has a body (1), in which base (4) there is, from the bottom end, a deep recess (5) creating in the base (4) of the body (1) the double coating (6) surrounding the recess (5). The recess (5) at its inlet is equipped with a catch (7). Inside the recess (5) there is placed at least one dispensable cup (K) caught by its molded rim (8) just behind the catch (7) of the recess (5). In the double coating (6) of the base (4) of the body (1), from its bottom end, there are two opposite to each other thumb notches (10) with widths enabling the taking the cup (K) off from the recess (5). In the type of the bottle according to the invention (FIG. 2) the base (14) of the body (11) is shaped in the manner that it forms the double coating (15) and the bottle's chamber (17), where the said bottle's chamber (17) has the shape of the cup (K). Between the outer wall (18) of the double coating (15) and the lateral surface of the bottle's chamber (17) there is the recess (16).

Abstract: An elongated packaging device is provided for packaging at least one disc-shaped item such as, for example, a recording media disc such as a CD, a CD-ROM or a DVD, together with a beverage container of the kind typically having a cover with a central straw opening. The packaging device includes a cylindrical lid comprising two separate elements—an upper element and a lower element—adapted to receive and retain a disc-shaped media, which cylindrical lid is then sealingly engaged to a beverage container of the cup type which is often sold or given away as a promotional item in connection with the purchase of a large fountain beverage. At least one of the two elements of the lid has a cylindrical inner structure defining central support for the disc media by means of the annular opening at the center of the disc, such that the disc media is allowed to rotate, while limiting the linear movement of the disc media both perpendicular to and parallel to the plane of the media.

Abstract: A shopping basket has four walls, a bottom and handles for allowing the basket to be carried, and one wall of the basket is provided with a section that projects either outwardly from or inwardly into the shopping basket and is adapted to serve as a receptacle for a bottle or can. This projecting section is integrally formed with the shopping basket wall, is cylindrically shaped with a radius slightly larger than that of a typical can or bottle and has a flat bottom retaining wall so that it is suited to hold securely an open, fluid-filled can or bottle without spilling its contents. Thus, a shopper using the shopping basket will easily be able to drink from a can or bottle and then place it within the receptacle formed from the shopping basket wall, removing it and replacing it as desired, so that the shopper can conveniently and selectively shop and drink from the can or bottle as desired.

  • Patent number: 6305532
Abstract: A travel tray includes a flat support surface having a raised lip extending around its peripheral edge. A concave front wall is configured and dimensioned to accommodate the natural abdominal curvature of a user's torso. An aperture is formed in the support surface to receive a tapered beverage container of relatively large size. An adaptor is detachably secured to an annular raised lip that circumscribes the aperture. The adaptor reduces the diameter of the aperture so that it can accommodate a beverage container of smaller size. The adaptor ring is stored beneath the travel tray when not in use. The annular raised lip that circumscribes the aperture prevents spilled food or liquids from entering the aperture and spilling onto the user's lap. The raised lip that extends around the peripheral edge of the flat support surface provides the same function.
