Abstract: A container for consumer goods, such as smoking articles, has an outer housing with a hinged lid that houses an inner package of consumer goods. The inner package has an access opening through which consumer goods can be removed and that is covered by a reclosable flap attached to a first lid panel that is relatively movable to a second lid panel throughout rotation of the lid between lid open and closed positions. The reclosable flap has a hinge line about which it can move and a ratio between a first distance measured when the hinged lid is in the open position along a straight line between a lower front edge of the lid and the hinge line and a second distance that is a length along the reclosable flap between the hinge line and the free end is between 70% and 100%.

Abstract: A pack having a group of tobacco industry products wrapped in a laminate to form a bundle is disclosed. The pack has a base containing the bundle, and a lid mounted to the base for rotation between open and closed positions. The laminate has an outer layer having a first cut that defines an outer layer region bounded by said first cut and, an inner layer having a second cut that defines an inner layer region bounded by said second cut. The inner layer region lies within the outer layer region. A part of the outer layer region is attached to an inside surface of the lid such that, as the lid is rotated into its open position, the inner and outer layer regions are lifted causing the inner and outer layers to delaminate in a peripheral region between the first and second cuts and an opening to be created in the laminate.

The unfolded portion of the member extends along a path between the ends. The path includes at least one substantially straight planar portion and a semi-cylindrical portion. The pair of substantially parallel portions are configured such that a plurality of rolling papers may be removably packaged between the pair of substantially parallel portions. The plurality of rolling papers at least initially retains a curved shape after removal from the improved packaging such that a tobacco product may be placed in the curved portion.

Abstract: An adjacent article package for holding a consumer product and a promotional product includes a combining sleeve formed from a blank. The first container can be a pack of cigarettes and the second container can be a small package containing promotional products such as smokeless tobacco products. The adjacent article package can be sized to be compatible with cigarette cartons, cigarette display racks, tax-stamping equipment and the like.

Abstract: A cigarette pack of the hinge-lid-box type comprises an outer pack (13) and an inner pack which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction within the outer pack (13). A hinge lid (36) is fitted on one side of the outer pack (13). This hinge lid is moved into an open position by displacement of the inner pack (12) relative to the outer pack (13), to be precise by an opening force being transmitted by means of a pushing-action tab (27) arranged within the pack.

Abstract: A water resistant absorbent towel dispenser. The dispenser includes a container having top, bottom and side walls housing a supply of absorbent towels, and an exterior handle for facilitating transport of the dispenser. The top wall includes a finger-accessible opening through which absorbent towels may be withdrawn. In certain embodiments, the top wall is convex upwardly, but is flexible to enable it to be depressed when dispensers are stacked vertically so as to come into load bearing contact with the towel supply. In some embodiments, the top and bottom walls have interlocking configurations to add lateral stability to vertically stacked dispensers.

A protective cover is disposed around the base and the lid when the container is in the closed state. The blank includes a base sub-blank at the distal end which is folded to form an open top box and a lid sub-blank at the proximal end which is folded to form a top for the box. A movable lid sub-panel is formed in the lid sub-blank which is hingedly removable therefrom to open the top of the box and which is reclosable by use of a foldable member provided therein. After opening of the movable lid sub-panel, the foldable member is folded over to form an extending tab which is received in a weakening line provided in an underlying front panel of the carton when it is desired to hold the movable lid sub-panel in a closed position.

Abstract: A resealable hard box cigarette pack is provided with a window type opening extending across a portion of the pack top wall and also a portion of the front wall of the pack. The window is covered by a closure that may be resealed to the pack body either through insertion of a tab on the closure into a tab receiving slot in the front wall of the pack or by applying a permanent package adhesion along the outer edges of the closure with the edges of the openings in the top wall and the front wall.

Abstract: A carton assembly for packages of smoking articles comprises a top wall, a bottom wall, a first side wall, a second side wall, a first end wall, a second end wall and a dispensing portion. The dispensing portion is defined by a perforation line on the first and second side walls and the bottom wall before the dispensing portion is removed. When the perforation line is torn, the dispensing portion may be removed allowing cigarette packages to be withdrawn from the carton assembly.

Abstract: A dual cigarette carton has overall dimensions compatible with commercially available tax-stamping machinery as well as structural features that enable subsequent separation of the dual carton into two five-pack cartons. The dual cigarette carton comprises first and second cartons each having relatively long front and back walls, an interconnecting bottom wall and narrow end walls. First and second cover flaps are connected to the front wall of the first and second cartons along upper edges thereof. The first and second cover flaps overlie one another when the cartons are positioned in back-to-back relationship. A perforated fold line extends between each cover flap and the front wall to which it is connected, and each perforated fold line includes an unperforated portion at one end thereof for strengthening connection between the cover flaps and the front walls as the cartons with cigarette packs therein pass through the tax-stamping machinery.
