  • Patent number: 6082422
Abstract: The combination money clip and card holder comprises a one-piece element having a rectangular base with two inwardly-oriented L-shaped brackets formed along longitudinal edges thereof. The rectangular base also contains a stop, formed on one of the transverse edges thereof. Together with the rectangular base, the L-shaped brackets comprise a channel for receiving flexible cards, such as credit cards, whereas the stop prevents the cards from being inserted too far into the channel. The edges of the base supporting the L-shaped brackets are tapered in the direction of the stop to provide means for removably capturing the cards inserted into the channel. The holder also includes a resilient money clip formed on the opposite side of the base. The money clip is formed so that it is biased toward the base, thus allowing bank notes inserted between the clip and the base to be removably retained therein.

The end of the retaining clip nearest the vertically rising portion is generally arched to bias the clip in a direction toward the base. The clip extends from the one end of the base toward the opposite end thereof, terminating with a leading edge that slopes upwardly and away from the upper surface to facilitate grasping by the user. Depending from an inner surface of the retaining clip is an extension, and formed on the upper surface of the base is a corresponding depression which is positioned in opposed registry with the extension and configured to receive the extension.

  • Patent number: 5941375
Abstract: A protective card case or sheath for a single card having a magnetically encoded strip is in the form of a generally rectangular, flat, sleeve-type holder. The sheath has a protective strip along the top and bottom area of a front and rear panel for protection of the data encoded strip of a credit card or the like regardless of the orientation of the card in the holder. The protective strips thus shield the magnetically recorded data from magnetic and electric fields which might otherwise erase or damage such magnetically stored data. The card holder also includes a lengthwise centrally disposed transparent area in both the front and rear panel to enable observation of the identifying number imprinted on the card. The card holder also includes a screened area or stripe along the top and bottom areas of the front and rear panels on which informational material can be printed.

A slide plate provided with a portion for reception of valuables is slidably mounted within a case and movable between two positions, one being a locked position and the second being a released position. In the released position the slide plate is moved outwardly of the case by spring action, thus causing the case and the slide plate to expand against the side margins of the garment pocket in which it is placed, thus placing a force against the side margins and thereby preventing removal thereof from the garment pocket. The valuables receptacle portion of the slide plate is arranged to receive valuable personal belongings such as a commutation ticket, driver's license, a key or the like.

  • Patent number: 4921027
Abstract: The present invention provides a billfold, wallet, or the like for carrying a plurality of cards, such as credit cards, in shingled and partially exposed relationship to one another whereby a desired card can be readily selected and withdrawn. The billfold has a pair of flexible walls which are sewn together to form an envelope-like opening. One of the walls has affixed thereto a multi-card liner. The liner includes a support member which has at least two vertical slits extending from a bottom edge to provide a downwardly extending tongue member. A plurality of card-receiving leaves is then provided. Each of the leaves has a tongue-receiving slit extending in a horizontal direction. The leaves are strung along the tongue of the support member in a vertically aligned, partially overlapping array to form the integral liner of the invention having a series of single edge overlying cavities arranged in shingled relationship for the reception of cards.

An arrangement for accessing and removing the cards from the cavity includes a slot disposed along the first side member depending from one end toward the center portion of the first side member. A mechanism is provided for removably securing the case to the piece of material. Finally, an element projects from the interior surface of the second side member opposite the slot for constricting the width of the cavity along the center portion thereof to assist in maintaining the cards within the case while providing a leverage area for removal of the cards.

  • Patent number: 4805820
Abstract: A portable receptacle is useful for carrying prophylactic packages. The receptacle is comprised of a generally oval shaped casing closed on one end. Margins of the package are folded over and the package is inserted into the receptacle. The package margins tend to return to their unfolded attitude, thereby exerting force on the casing walls. The package restoring force frictionally resists unintentional removal of the package. One casing wall is formed with a large cutout for facilitating package identification and removal. A cover is pivotable on the casing between the closed position overlying the casing cutout wall and open end, and an open position exposing the package and uncovering the casing open end.
