  • Patent number: 8234904
Abstract: A contact magazine loader for guiding the insertion of individual electrical contacts into a crimping section of a crimping tool. A magazine is adapted to be placed in removable and rotatable engagement with a hand-held crimping tool. The magazine is approximately cylindrical, has a plurality of channels evenly dispersed around the radial periphery of the magazine, and is preloadable with electrical contacts. Each preloaded electrical contact is positioned within an individual insert casing. Each insert casing is adapted to being linearly slideably received into one of the channels. As a shuttle assembly is moved into compressed configuration, an insert casing guides the preloaded electrical contact into the crimping section of the hand-held crimper. A trigger assembly allows a user, with a single movement, to cause the shuttle assembly to return to its released configuration, and to rotate the magazine to axially align a subsequent casing with the crimping section of the hand held crimper.

Abstract: A light-tight package for a roll (1) of light sensitive material has a central core (4) around which the material is wound, a flexible opaque leader (6) having a leading end attached to the outermost end of the material and a pair of flexible end discs (7,8) covering each end of the roll. Each end disc has an outer diameter greater than the outer diameter of the roll to provide peripheral portions which are folded axially inwardly against the outer surface of the roll. A concentric ring of perforations is provided within the peripheral portion to control the tear and ensure that any portions of material left by the tear will not interfere with rewinding of the roll.

  • Patent number: 5462164
Abstract: A lighttight package for rolled light-sensitive material includes a core, light-impervious flanges at opposite ends of the core, a roll of the light-sensitive material wound on the core between the flanges, and a light-shielding circumferential wrapper enclosing the roll. The flanges each have a circumferential groove extending radially inwardly from the periphery thereof into which the axial margins of the wrapper are folded radially inwardly and inserted and retained, preferably by a clamping action. The groove is defined between opposed wall sections of the flange and at least one of the wall section can be relatively flexible to facilitate insertion of the wrapper margin therein. The inner termination of the wrapper margin within the groove can be re-entrantly bent and a cord or string can be laid within the re-entrant bend to provide greater security against premature withdrawal of the wrapper margins from the groove.

  • Patent number: 5431282
Abstract: An end wall 1 is composed of a plate 11 which forms, on the front side, a flat surface with an annular attachment 35, whereas the reverse side is reinforced by radial ribs 5 and annular ribs 14. The radial ribs 5 are stiffened by webs 32 which run perpendicular to the plate 11. Further webs 33 reinforce rounded webs 17 of locking lugs 4. On the front side of the plate 11 is disposed a central plug-in peg 2 which is surrounded by the annular attachment. Three sides walls 13 of the plate 11 are provided with stacking lugs 9, 19 which delimit stacking pockets 8, 18 which are designed in a manner complementary to the stacking lugs. The fourth side wall 30 of the end wall has a corrugation 31 and, in the case of a wound roll packaged with the end walls, lies on a pallet. The annular attachment prevents contact between the edge region of the wound roll and the end wall thereby avoiding compressions in the edge region of the wound roll.

The plug is adapted for coupling with the core to assist in fixing the position of the roll goods. The plug comprises a cylindrical portion designed to fit within the core with a small clearance so that the axes of the core and the plug are substantially coincident with each other. A flange extends from the cylindrical portion and is engageable with an axial end of the roll goods to limit relative axial movement of the plug and the roll goods with respect to each other. A nose extends axially from the substantially cylindrical portion in spaced-apart relation to the flange.
