Abstract: A point of sale device includes a card mounted on a hanger on a vertically extending mounting structure of a retail shop. The card carries a reusable storage container in which articles are stored. The container includes a body with an opening closed by a transparent, sealable, removable and re-sealable lid. The container is mounted on the card and the device is mounted on the hanger so a prospective purchaser can see the articles through the transparent lid. In one embodiment, the body includes a permanent magnet abutting the base.

Abstract: A theft deterrent display package for at least one article comprises a product cradle having an interior space with a perimeter. A peripheral flange extends outwardly from the perimeter of the interior space. A locking slot is configured along the perimeter of the interior space. At least one self-standing leg extends downwardly from the interior space upon which the display package stands alone. A backboard is defined by a front face and a back face. A locking tab comprises a free end extends outwardly from one edge of the back face. The locking tab includes two angled fold lines used in assisting the free end of the locking tab to be inserted into the locking slot to securely enclose the display package.

Abstract: A display pack for a consumer product is made of two sheets of corrugated cardboard and a clear plastic container with a flat insertion portion sandwiched between the cardboard sheets. The two cardboard sheets are adhered together in a peripheral area of the package by a heat sensitive adhesive, and the corrugations of the cardboard sheets are crushed and flattened in the peripheral area. To seal the package, the peripheral area of the two cardboard sheets is subject to sufficient pressure to crush the corrugations inside the cardboard sheets and flatten them in that area. Heat is applied to the outer side of the cardboard sheets in the peripheral area and conducted to the adhesive material between the two sheets to activate the adhesive material. A sealer machine with a heated sealing press or parallel sets of heated rollers may be used to carry out the sealing process.

Abstract: A base for displaying and holding shrimp comprises a well having a bottom wall, and a first side wall. The bottom wall has a surface for holding a sauce receptacle. The first side wall encompassing and extends upwardly and outwardly from the bottom wall. The first side wall has a plurality of slots each for displaying and holding an individual shrimp. Each slot has a section extending outwardly as viewed from an interior of the well. The base also includes a peripheral trough having a second side wall, a trough bottom wall and an outer wall. The second side wall encompasses and extends downwardly from an upper portion of said first side wall.

Abstract: Substrates having a wide range of thickness, and intended to be overmolded with a plastic package body, are accommodated in a common mold. The top surface of the substrate is provided with a dam structure, which may be formed as an additional layer on the substrate, and which is preferably in the form of a square ring. A groove (channel) is machined (e.g., by routing) into the surface of the dam structure. The top mold half, having a cavity for forming the package body, is provided with a sealing structure at the periphery of the cavity. The sealing structure has a ridge fitting into the channel of the dam structure. The depth of the groove in the dam structure is readily adjusted to ensure uniform clamping pressure of the top mold half on the substrate, so that liquid molding compound is contained within the cavity and so that undue pressure is not exerted on the substrate.

Abstract: A reusable surgical device which is suitable for carrying elongated surgical instruments having a backing plate which supports a plurality of detachable receptacle members contained on the backing plate in fixed engagement. The device is made of a transparent thermoplastic which is electrically insulating, nonflammable, and which can be sterilized at temperatures above 300.degree. F.

Abstract: A component container includes a carrier tape and a package. The carrier tape has a plurality of openings formed on a flexible tape-shaped transporting material at predetermined intervals, a first fixing through-hole formed forward of each opening, and a second fixing through-hole formed backward of the opening. Each of the fixing through-holes is formed separately from each opening. The package is inserted into each of the openings of the carrier tape and has a component-accommodating recess, a first fixing portion securely inserted through the first fixing through-hole of the carrier tape so as to be allowed to move in the first fixing through-hole in a longitudinal direction of the carrier tape, and a second fixing portion securely inserted through the second fixing through-hole of the carrier tape.

Abstract: A secure container system comprising a first container with a second container mounted thereon, the containers having adjacent sides that are complementary to one another. The first container includes two pairs of spaced channels and the second container includes opposite flanges which engage the channels for mounting the second container on the first. The first container has a door which, when closed, includes an extended portion comprising a stop for selectively preventing lateral movement of the second container relative to the first container when the second container is mounted in only one of the two pairs of spaced channels. The door also includes a pair of detents for temporarily holding the second container relative to the first container when the second container is mounted in a second of the two pairs of spaced channels.

Abstract: There is disclosed a device for holding knife blades intended for sale, comprising a stiff sheet-like carrier on which there is mechanically mounted a dispenser which receives the blades and protects them from direct access, in such a way that the carrier has to be destroyed in order to open the dispenser and to free it from the carrier.

Abstract: A secure container system comprising a first container with a second container mounted thereon, the container having adjacent sides that are complementary to one another. The first container includes a pair of spaced channels and the second channel includes opposite flanges which engage the channels for mounting the second container on the first. The first container has a door which, when closed, includes an extended portion comprising a stop for selectively preventing lateral movement of the second container relative to the first. When the door is opened, the second container may be laterally removed from its mounting on the first container.

Abstract: A supported package for displaying small items such as coins is formed from a tubular sleeve, for example of MYLAR (trade mark) film or the like and which is flattened and removably attached on a planar support surface which comprises a series of transversely spaced transversely elongated members, which may, for exmaple, be formed by slits in the support surface, each having associated with it an opening formed by a longitudinally extending pair of opposed edges through which at least a portion of the flattened sleeve is passed. The package can be readily formed or adjusted to accommodate snugly items such as coins of differing sizes, and the packages can be readily mounted, moved and rearranged on the display surface.

Abstract: A display package for a container including a receptacle having an open end and a cap mounted on the open end and closing the same, particularly for a container containing a cosmetic substance, includes a backing card, a first mounting part secured to the backing part and embracing that end of the receptacle which is remote from the cap in a cup-like fashion to prevent movement of the container relative to the backing card in one axial direction as well as radially, and a second mounting part which embraces the container at the elevation of the cap and has a locking surface which engages a retaining surface of the cap that is situated a different distance from the axis of the container than the remainder of the periphery of the cap. The retaining surface may be flat and form a recessed formation in the cap, in which case the locking surface interferes with turning of the cap relative to the receptacle about the central axis of the container.

Abstract: A card for mounting and displaying snack foods and other products packaged in bags is provided, which has a matched pair of locking tabs defined therein. The tabs are forwardly deflected to receive the reversely folded end flange of the bag therebehind, and are then forced rearwardly through the plane of the card to position the upper corners of the bag therebehind. This will provide secure, two-point support for the product bag, while also permitting ready removal at the point of sale. Generally, a multiplicity of bags will be mounted on the card, arranged in rows and shingled columns thereon. In certain embodiments, the tabs are desirably formed with nibs on their upper edge to deform and thereby better grip the bag, as is most desirable when the bag is made of a flaccid material.

Abstract: A reclosable blister card package comprises a plastic blister having a flanged portion and a raised product holding portion. A paperboard card is folded over at least a pair of opposed blister flanged portions in provision of sliding movements of the blister on the card. A portion of the card extending transversely of the direction of sliding movements is folded over to present an edge thereof in engagement with a correspondingly extending portion of the flanged portion of the blister. A crease is provided in the card parallel to and adjacent the edge of the folded portion to accommodate pivotation of the edge out of engagement with the flanged portion and consequent release of the card from the blister in provision of access to a product held therein.

Abstract: A blister type display carton includes a base sheet provided with fold lines adjacent its edges to permit the edges of the sheet to be folded up and provide the side walls of the carton. A transparent blister cover has a plurality of depending tongues on its side edges and the tongues engage in related slots in the side walls of the carton to attach the cover to the base sheet.
