The card packaging system can hold a card and a promotional item and can display the serial number of the card while keeping the personal identification number for the card hidden. The card packaging system can be easily hung from a merchandise display. The card packaging system may include a card unit comprising a card, a hanger, and a stem, the stem being positioned between the card and the hanger, wherein the card may be separate from the hanger and the stem. The card packaging system may further comprise a case for receiving the card unit, the case including a slot for receiving the stem such that the card is positioned in the case and the hanger extends outwardly from the case.

Abstract: Techniques for providing cost effective and tamper evident prepaid card packaging are described. By containing a relatively wide glued area by gluing two relatively tin side panels together, the resulting package is highly resistant to being slit open on an edge without the effort to open the package being highly evident. A foldover magnetic stripe panel provides additional thickness to a portion of the package typically read by a magnetic strip reader while allowing very thin side panels.

Abstract: A laminated sheet construction for use in product packages has a substrate layer onto which there is laminated a transparent solid plastic film with an exposed surface having a transparent thermosetting adhesive coating.
