Abstract: A rag bucket having a lid received against a tub's rim that allows bleached rags with residual odors of bleach contained therein to breathe with the outside air. The rag bucket lid has an aperture covered by a screen which allows the rags, when sealed therein, to breathe. The lid is recessed into the tub so that after the bleached rags have been removed, the lid may act as a strainer, for example, for paint to allow “good” paint to pass through the screen into the tub, and “bad” paint or impurities to be trapped on top of the screen to be discarded so as not to spoil a painter's work.

Abstract: An expandable basket is formed of a main body, a top box, a cover, and a handle. The top box is disposed on the top of the main body and is provided with an expandable cylinder. The main body is provided in the underside thereof with a retaining portion. The cover is provided in the top thereof with a retaining portion engageable with the retaining portion of the main body of another basket. A plurality of baskets can be thus arranged together.

Abstract: A beverage container includes an easy cleaning upper panel which has a flat opening portion and a lifting portion, wherein the flat opening portion can prevent the dirt from accumulating in the ring shaped indented groove formed around the upper panel of the conventional beverage container. Besides, an enlarged gap is sufficiently provided between a lifting portion on the upper panel and the lifting ring, so that the consumer can easily grip on the lifting ring. Moreover, a protective film is detachably attached on the upper panel so that the consumer may simply remove the protective film to obtain a clean panel surface for consuming the beverage.

Abstract: A collapsible container includes a substantially rectangular plastic base, a first plastic wall coupled by a first hinge to a first edge of the base, and a second plastic wall coupled by a second hinge to a second edge of the base opposite the first edge of the base. A first corrugated element is folded to form a first corrugated floor portion and a first corrugated wall portion, wherein the first corrugated floor portion is attached to the base so that the first corrugated wall portion is positioned between and adjacent to the first and second plastic walls. The first corrugated wall portion mates with a first lip of the first plastic wall and a first lip of the second plastic wall.

Abstract: A container assembly includes a container member having an open end, and a lid threadably engagable with the container member for closing the open end of the container member. A locking member is provided on the lid which is engagable with a latch member located on an upper surface of the container member. The locking member is pivotable about a horizontal axis and prevents rotation of the lid with respect to the container member when the locking member is engaged with the latch member. A seal is provided between the lid and the container member. The seal is located between wall members of the lid and the container member such that the seal is gradually compressed as the lid is threadably secured to the container member.

Abstract: The plastic container includes a container top and a container bottom. The container utilizes a cut-back closure device which maintains the container top in a secure position relative to the container bottom and also forms a nearly leak proof seal. The container top includes gripping tabs which facilitate the separation of the container top from the container bottom and permit container venting. The plastic container is suited for microwave cooking, top-shelf dishwashing and freezer use.

Abstract: A storage container with self-retaining lid includes a lid and a storage container. The structure for attaching the lid can be molded on to the bottom of the storage container, molded to the top of the lid, or molded to the lid and the bottom of the storage container. There are several preferred embodiments of the self-retaining lid. In a first preferred embodiment, the lid has a rim with a recessed cavity for receiving a lip of the storage container. In second and seventh preferred embodiments, a bottom of the storage container has a lip which is sized to be inserted into a sealing cavity of the lid. In a third preferred embodiment, a bottom of the storage container has a plurality of balls which are disposed to mate with a plurality of sockets. In a fourth preferred embodiment, a plurality of hooks are molded into at least two sides of the container and sized to receive the peripheral edge of the lid.

Abstract: A storage container with self-retaining lid includes a lid and a storage container. Abstract: A multipurpose container having a lid and a receptacle. The receptacle has a base, a pair of side walls and a pair of end walls. The side walls are opposing each other and are integral to the base and to each other. At least one container wall has one half of a hinge mechanism integrally molded to a free end which mates with the other half of the hinge mechanism integrally molded with the lid to for the hinge mechanism. The hinge mechanism removably and pivotally attaches the lid to the receptacle. The hinge prevents the lid from rotating past a prescribed angle while allowing the lid to remain open to aid in filling the container. The lid includes a living hinge which allows the lid to be reduced in size and fit within the container. The container is adapted to being stackable and nestable when the lid is removed and placed inside the container.

Abstract: A can with a cover comprises a pull ring (5) and a score line (7) adjacent the closing flange (8) of the cover, and a bottom closing flange (9). The nose (5b) of the pull ring (5) is spaced such a distance (x) from the weakening line (7) that two cans (1', 1) can be stacked atop one another without any risks of damaging the pull ring. When the handle part (5a) is lifted, the pull ring is displaced the distance (x) outwards towards the cover flange (8) before it perforates the cover through the score line (7). The resulting can is less vulnerable compared to known cans at the score line during handling and can thus withstand heavy vertical loads. Moreover more room is provided for a closing chuck at the seaming of the cover.

Abstract: A plurality of insulating jugs are stackable one over the other. Each of the insulating jugs includes a jug body and a lid. The jug body has a top, a bottom, a receiving chamber, and a pouring opening disposed adjacent to a top of the jug body over the receiving chamber. The lid is disposed on the top of the jug body and has a seat member engaging the jug body over the pouring opening, a displaceable closure member disposed below the seat member and movable to close and open the pouring opening, and an operating lever extending over the seat member and connected to the closure member to actuate the closure member. A hollow cap is disposed over the seat member. The cap has a slot for outward extension of the operating lever from the closure member, and an upwardly projecting central boss. The central boss has a flat top face that is substantially flush with a part of the operating lever when the operating lever closes the pouring opening.

Abstract: A process for the production of pile-up lids, each of which comprises an upper wall (1) and an element (2) arranged around the perimeter of said upper wall (1) and which forms a lip (3) protruding above said upper wall (1), and skirt (4) extending below said upper wall (1); the process includes the steps of bringing together in a synchronous manner external sector elements (9) and internal sector elements (10) in radially opposite directions so that, owing to the forced approach of the contact surfaces of the external and internal sector elements (9, 10) with said upper lip (3) of said lid interposed between them, a reeding pressure-molding is obtained on both the inner and the outer surfaces of said upper lip (3), giving said lip (3) an outline to allow piling up on other similar lids.

Abstract: A bucket that children cannot put over their head, having a bottom wall, side walls, a removable lid and a non-pivoting U-shaped handle. The side walls project upwardly from the bottom wall and form an opening having circumscribing edges. The removable lid fits in the circumscribing edges for closing the bucket. The non-pivoting U-shaped handle has opposite side legs slidably mounted onto the side walls. The U-shaped handle also has stopping means for limiting sliding of the handle between a first position where the U-shaped handle bears against the lid when the same is fitted in the circumscribing edges and a second position where the U-shaped handle extends away from the lid and thus makes it possible to remove the lid from the circumscribing edges. Thus, the U-shaped handle, both in first and second positions, divides the opening into two smaller openings which are smaller than a child's head, thus children cannot put the bucket over their head.

Abstract: A shipping container which inhibits improper orientation by its shape and also provides protection for its contents. The container has a number of side panels, a top end and a bottom end. A top closure covers the top end and a bottom closure covers the bottom end. The top closure projects above the top end to a preselected height and by it shape inhibits placing the container on the top closure. The bottom closure is recessed within the container to a depth at least as deep as the height of the top closure so that a plurality of containers may be nested together. The container may also include a crush resistant structure as an integral part of the top closure or a separate insert. The structure has outer walls and inner load-bearing walls which inhibit the structure from collapsing when a compressive force is applied.

Abstract: A package for maintaining a modified atmosphere around contents being contained therein when stored in an ambient environment is set forth. The modified-atmosphere package includes a tray, a membrane, and a structural member. The tray has a base and side walls extending upwardly from the base. The side walls and the base define a cavity wherein the contents are disposed. A membrane is attached to a top portion of the side walls and encloses the cavity. The structural member is detachably connected to the top portion of the side walls and is disposed above the membrane to prevent the membrane from contacting an external structure which inhibits permeation through the membrane. The structural member also has at least one opening for exposing the membrane to the ambient environment. Stacking means at the base of the tray and the top of the structural member allow the modified-atmosphere packages to be easily stacked.

Abstract: A stackable container has a peripheral skirt around its base which resiliently fits over a peripheral rim around the lid of a similar container to frictionally engage the container to enable stacking of the containers. When stacked the stack of containers may be processed in a conventional manner.

Abstract: A threaded drum cover is disclosed for selectively closing an open head drum. The drum comprises a tubular drum open at a top end defined by a threaded chime. The cover comprises a closure having a central circular wall of a size corresponding to that of the chime and a downwardly depending annular sidewall receivable radially outwardly of the chime. The sidewall includes radially inwardly directed threads for mating with a threaded chime to provide a tight head drum. A radially outwardly opening annular recess in the sidewall above the threads provides for external gripping of the tight head drum. The cover is of one piece plastic construction.

Abstract: A storage container for storing and shipping items is foldable between a flat unformed condition and a second folded formed condition. The container includes a base section, and first and second end sections hinged to respective first and second ends of the base section. First and second cover sections are hinged to respective second ends of the end sections. The container includes a structure to secure differently sized and shaped articles in the same location of the inner surface of the base section. The securing structure includes slots, retention columns, ridges, troughs having various walls forming a trough for securing these articles using a friction fit. The container also includes a device for indicating whether the container has been opened.

Abstract: A lidded container for lobsters or like crustacean comprises a container formed of plastics material having sidewalls, endwalls and a bottom wall and a lid formed of plastics material which is adapted to be hingedly secured to the container sidewalls to move between an open position and a close position. The lid has a top wall formed of a series of upwardly projecting ribs defining wells to receive and retain therein ice which, when melted, passes through perforations in the bottom faces of the wells to circulate about the lobsters. The water then exits through apertures in the sidewalls, endwalls and bottom wall of the container.

Abstract: A combination shipping/display container that has gripping surfaces in two planes associated with the end walls of the container such that lifting of the container is facilitated for placing the containers on their bottom walls for shipping and for placing the containers on their side walls for display purposes.

Abstract: A plastic lid for a pail. The lid has a substantially planar central section and a peripheral channel. The channel fits over the pail to effect closure thereof. The central section is spaced from the channel by a groove and a ridge, each of which extend around the lid juxtaposed to the channel, with the groove being adjacent to the channel. The pail is intended for transportation of goods.

Abstract: An egg carton is provided having various nesting/denesting features, a ventilation system, reinforced portions, and capability of accommodating and protecting various sized eggs. The nesting/denesting features include thickened corners on the lid, an indented post and a stacking ledge on the tray, each feature reducing the amount of surface contact between nesting components and facilitating denesting. The ventilation system includes channels formed in the cells of the tray and a vent which enables effective natural and artificial cooling of packaged eggs. The reinforced portions include embossments being formed on the bases of each of the cells, along with compacted raised portions. Finally, the cells are provided with high flexible walls for protecting the eggs and deflectable cushions shaped and located to securely hold eggs which are smaller than the natural size of the cells.

Abstract: A container for housing produce comprising a generally rectangular bottom, generally rectangular opposed first and second side and end walls extending upwardly and outwardly from the bottom, and a pivot member on an upper edge of the first side wall. A lid comprising two panels is provided, each panel having first and second side edges and a hinge edge, the first side edges being detachably and pivotally secured to the pivot member. A hinge operatively connects the hinge edges of the two panels. Resilient flanges are provided on the second side edges of the panels to releasably engage shoulders formed on an upper edge of the second side wall when the lid is closed. To nest multiple containers one within another, the lid is removed from the side wall, folded 180.degree. about its hinge, rotated 90.degree. and placed in the bottom of the container. Another container is then placed in the container and the process is repeated.

The tray has a base and side walls extending upwardly from said base. The domed cover has a top and cover walls extending downwardly from said top. The tray has a plurality of recessed platforms disposed adjacent its side walls while the domed cover has a plurality of indentations adjacent its cover walls. Each indentation abuts a respective one of the recessed platforms for transferring a force from the domed cover into said tray. Both the tray and domed cover preferably have stiffening elements joining and strengthening the side walls and cover walls, respectively. The tray is preferably hexagonal to allow for modular positioning. A bowl similar to the tray is also presented which has longer side walls for containing more food.

Abstract: The combination of a reusable lid and a container, the lid being provided with external threads and the container being provided with internal threads adjacent its upper end for mating with said external threads. The lid is assembled to the container by engagement of the external and internal threads on the lid and container respectively. Preferably the lid has a sealing ring disposed adjacent to the underside of an outer peripheral ledge for engagement with a selected portion of the container, so as to tightly seal off the contents of the container. A latch element is formed on the lid for engagement with a cooperating catch element formed on the container. The latch element prevents removal of the lid from the container until the latching element is released from the catch element.

The base jar includes a bottom wall, a side enclosure extending upwardly from the bottom wall having an upper portion with a screw thread, and an upper wall extending inwardly and upwardly from the upper portion of the side enclosure having a circular brim which defines a wide mouth opening for the base jar. The removable lid includes a top wall and an encircling member extending downwardly therefrom with a screw thread which matingly engages with the screw thread of the upper wall of the base jar. For sealing with the base jar, the removable lid also includes a circular projection extending downwardly from the lid which engages and seals with the circular brim.

Each lid preferably has a recessed area, as well as being adapted to cooperatively fit together with a food tray.

The threads between the first member and the closure member are synchronized.

The latch has a projection extending out from the cover, and a locking flap extending out from the bottom that flexes to meet and hold the projection. In one embodiment, the projection includes a tab, and the locking flap includes a rib that lifts the flap above the tab when closed, in order to reduce the possibility of the tab coming away from the flap.

Abstract: Pourable products such as pool chemicals are packaged in a rectilinear stackable receptacle assembly. The receptacle assembly includes an upper cover or lid which includes a stacking recess into which a second receptacle assembly can nest. The cover and the bucket side wall include interlocking members thereon which securely attach the cover to the bucket when the cover is pressed down against the bucket. The well has a selected diameter to receive the tubular mouth of a like container to enable the containers to be stacked over one another in a stable tier.

The skirt is provided with internal threads for engaging external threads on the container neck. A disk shaped lid insert has its outer peripheral edge annularly received in an annular internal lid retaining groove in the cap which permits relative rotation between the lid insert and the threaded cap. An elastic annular seal is received in an annular groove provided in the bottom side of the lid insert for sealing the upper edge of a container.

Abstract: A collapsible shipping container comprising a base portion, three walls which are hinged to the base at their respective lower edges, a fourth wall which assembles to the base by sliding into a channel, four identical corner posts having a pair of channels for sliding on to the vertical edges of the four sides, and a top lid. The hinges on the side walls allow the three hinged side panels to fold over onto each other in a tightly layered configuration. The hinges do not carry a load which allows the containers to be stacked. The corner posts have locking pins which fit into holes on the tops of the walls to firmly lock the walls together. Skids are provided on the bottom portion to allow the container to be picked up and moved by forklifts. The top lid holds the corner posts and completely encloses the collapsed container. Alternatively, the container may accept snap-in casters on the bottom.

A method of use of such containers is disclosed, including the steps of providing a plurality of such containers and arranging them appropriately.

Abstract: A package for storing and shipping memory disks is disclosed. The package includes a base and cover designed to enclose and seal a plurality of disks held in a cassette. The base and cover include reinforcing gussets and members for securely retaining the cassette and disks so that the disks do not tilt, rattle or otherwise move during transport.

Abstract: A combination tool box that includes a lower tool chest member, a completely detachable, combined tool chest lid member and top tool box, and three pivoting securing mechanisms. Each of the three pivoting securing assemblies includes a lower fixed portion, an assembly hinge, a resilient pivoting clip portion, and a locking bolt assembly.

The upper surface of the cover also includes a raised crown portion which is coplanar with the closure cap. Both the closure cap and the crown portion have stacking and aligning projections which cooperate with respective recesses formed in the bottom wall of the container portion, which recesses facilitate stable stacking of the receptacles, one atop another. The container portion has a continuous sidewall which includes an upper outwardly projecting rim and an outwardly projecting catch ring that is adapted to interlock with the latch ring on the cover, whereby the cover cannot be readily removed from the container.

To ensure run-off of the fluids which are present in the pallet container (1) towards an outflow opening with valve (6) close to a peripheral side of the pallet container (1), the baseplate (4) is constructed with a slope. This slope is such that, in the normal use position of the baseplate (4), this baseplate (4) is constructed with a downward slope to all sides from the center point of this place (4), whilst a peripheral gutter (13) is provided. The lowest point thereof is located at the outflow opening for the fluids.
