Patent number: 4215508Abstract: An apparatus and method for fumigating stored agricultural commodities such as grain and the like, includes an applicator for porous envelopes or sachets of prepackaged pesticides of the type which react with moisture in the air and produce a toxic gas. The applicator comprises an elongate strip constructed of a flexible, porous, non-hygroscopic material. The strip has two plies which are arranged in an overlying relationship and are interconnected along a side edge thereof, and includes a plurality of seams which extend laterally across the strip and regularly interconnect the plies, and form pockets shaped for receiving the prepackaged pesticide sachets therein. The seams form a flexible hinge between adjacent pockets and interconnect the same to facilitate folding. A sachet is inserted into each pocket, the pocket is closed, and the filled applicator is deployed onto the free surface of an aggregation of stored commodity and arranged in a flat and fully extended position thereover.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1978Date of Patent: August 5, 1980Assignee: Research Products CompanyInventors: James R. Patent number: 3977452Abstract: A locking case of foldable material into which any of a wide variety of articles can be encapsulated. My case is equipped with a mouth or opening, but instead of this opening leading directly into the interior of the case, it leads instead into an inlet of tortuous configuration, which serves to prevent loss or dislodgement of items that have been placed in the interior of the case by following a novel encapsulation procedure. This procedure involves the case being turned inside-out for a number of times in one direction, such as three times, and then after placement of the item adjacent one side of the case, the case is turned inside-out in the other direction until such time as a plurality of layers of the material are caused to be disposed on each side of the encapsulated item. Advantageously, no fasteners of any kind are involved in making the encapsulated item or items secure against dislodgment.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 1974Date of Patent: August 31, 1976Inventor: Marjorie E. Patent number: 3944064Abstract: A delivery device for the controlled and continuous release of a useful agent at a functional rate is comprised of an erodible capsule housing a self monitored delivery device attached to a collapsed support. The device is comprised of a hollow container having a wall formed of a self-monitored release rate controlling material permeable to the passage of the agent by diffusion, or the wall is formed of a microporous material whose micropores are a means for holding a self-monitored release rate controlling medium permeable to the passage of the agent by diffusion. The device on its release from the bioerodible capsule in the environment of use releases an effective amount of agent at a functional rate over a prolonged and continuous period of time.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1973Date of Patent: March 16, 1976Assignee: ALZA CorporationInventors: John D. Patent number: 3938655Abstract: A removable stiffener for slip-in spectacle cases is formed by bending a sheet of resilient metal into a U-shaped structure approximating the cross-section of the spectacle case and lined on its internal concave surface with a soft, non-abrasive material. The stiffener is manually compressed prior to insertion into the spectacle case and is retained therein by the friction developed between its external surface and the inner walls of the case, due to its restrained expansion. The insert stiffens the case and prevents damage to the eyeglasses carried therein.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1974Date of Patent: February 17, 1976Assignee: Master Specialty ProductsInventor: Abraham Romolt

Patent number: T973014Abstract: an immersible bag (10) for exhaustable substances, with a bag containing the substance, which bag has a closed bag opening on the bag head (16), and with a bendable strip (12) folded along a transversely extending fold line, the strip having two legs continuously connected at the fold line, which legs are fastened on the bag and which legs receive therebetween the bag head adjacent the fold line, whereby the inner surface of the strip (which inner surface faces the bag) is formed at least at the fastening places by a thermoplastic synthetic material which is welded at the fastening places on the bag. The strip and the bag are spot welded at least at a spot or point-shaped fastening spot (38) on both outer sides of the bag, in the manner that the synthetic material is fused at the fastening spots with the porous material of the bag.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1978Date of Patent: August 1, 1978Inventor: Adolf Rambold
