  • Patent number: 5423505
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting and displaying non-prescription eyeglasses upon a cantilevered merchandise display assembly. A substantially rectangular, planar base member has a pair of temple supports depending downwardly therefrom at the lateral extremes of the base member. Each temple support has an aperture disposed therethrough for receiving one of the temples of the eyeglasses. The temple supports are partially severed outwardly from the circumference of each aperture in order to accommodate temples of varying sizes. The edge of the base member intermediate the temple supports is adapted to be spaced above the bridge of the eyeglasses and thereby avoid interference with the nose gap of the eyeglasses. The upper edge of the base member opposite the temple supports is extended upwardly into a support flange which is selectively engageable with the merchandising display assembly.

  • Patent number: 5299682
Abstract: This invention combines the functions of an eyeglass protection and storage device with the functions of an eyeglass securing device for when the eyeglasses are being worn. After the eyeglasses are removed from the protection and storage enclosure of this invention, the device can be transformed into a strap and used to secure the eyeglasses around the head of the wearer. Since such a dual-use protection and storage device can be worn along with the glasses, this invention also serves to eliminate the need to carry separately a single-use protection and storage device while the eyeglasses are being worn.

  • Patent number: 5211689
Abstract: The invention is a water-activating particle casing with an annular float. The casing has openings to allow washing water to flow in and out from the casing and contact the water-activating particles contained therein, thereby increasing the cleaning capability of the washing water circulating in a washing vessel. The annular float is made of closed cell rubber, and surrounds a portion of the body of the casing, thereby permitting the casing to float and ride on the swirling circulation of washing water in the washing vessel. Thus, the water-activating particles can be effectively exposed to circulating washing water to permit their surface activities to be used to their limit in washing.

Abstract: When used in a washing machine, a particulate detergent packed in portions in a flexible bag of a flat, water-permeable textile material leads to an improved detergency performance and/or saving of detergent by comparison with the conventional addition of detergent via the dispensing compartment of the washing machine if the bag material satisfies certain criteria in regard to the nature of the fibers used for its production and, optionally, the permeability to air and the adsorption capacity of the bag material, the geometric dimensions of the bag and its filling level.

  • Patent number: 5115976
Abstract: A dispenser for agricultural chemicals generally has a small plastic plate defining an affixing enclosure for fitting the dispenser over or around branches, vines etc. The plate has an opening therein. A container for the chemicals having one unenclosed section is attachable to the plate with the unenclosed section substantially aligned with the opening in the plate for emitting the agricultural chemicals to the environment. The opening in the faceplate can be at least partially surrounded by a raised edge and this edge may contain a lip for securing the container to the plate via a snap or sliding fit. Certain other options include forming the faceplate with small nubs which jut outwards over the opening in the faceplate. When the container is attached to the plate, these nubs prevent the chemical within the container from being jostled loose and also limit the exposed surface area of the contained chemical.

Abstract: A stretch fabric is double rolled and then sewn to tubular straps at each end to form an eyeglasses retainer, case combination. The tubular straps are attached to the stems of eyeglasses and are held in place on the stems by elastic bands within the ends of the straps. The assembly is then worn around the head or neck as a retainer preventing the eyeglasses from sliding forward or falling off in sports and such. When the eyeglasses are not worn they can be folded and placed within the cavity formed by unrolling the double roll of the case.

  • Patent number: 5055215
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a novel single, unit-dose drycleaning article in which at least a portion thereof dissolves in a drycleaning solvent during the drycleaning cycle for releasing a premeasured amount of a drycleaning additive contained within the article. The single, unit-dose drycleaning article is generally in the form of a sealed tub formed of a polystyrene. The unit-dose tub preferably dissolves within about one minute after being in contact with the drycleaning solvent to ensure release and adequate mixing of the drycleaning additive with the drycleaning solvent to effect maximum drycleaning results. In an alternative form, the single, unit-dose drycleaning article may be partially formed with a material that dissolves in a drycleaning solvent.
