Publication number: 20110000836Abstract: Flat-sheet membrane filter assemblies require open space around equipment to form a viable path for an internal recycle or roll pattern. Creating a dedicated roll pattern for individual filter assemblies is space intensive and imposes process constraints on tank dimensions. A hollow wall or series of pipes forms a recycle wall designed to consolidate roll patterns and reduces space requirements. The recycle wall is designed such that the structural components also serve as a mixed liquor distribution system for the necessary roll pattern. Fixed vertically oriented conduit and sectional channel pieces allow for easy access and removal of membrane filter assemblies installed side by side. Feeding mixed liquor, air and or influent to the bottom of filter assemblies via submerged conduit improves process efficiency when coupled with return channels spaced not more than 10 feet away and above assemblies.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 6, 2009Publication date: January 6, 2011Inventor: Dennis Livingston

The screening station is connected to an inlet capable of receiving liquid and solid waste and includes a screen for capturing at least some of the solid waste. The preprocessing station is in fluid communication with the screening station, and includes a degrit chamber for settling out an additional amount of the solids. The alkali mixing station includes an alkali for mixing with the waste to stabilize the waste at a predetermined pH level. The press station receives the stabilized waste and includes a press for separating out an additional portion of the solids. The processing station includes at least one aerobic microorganism generating unit for converting nitrites into nitrogen gas and consuming carbon-based waste material.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 11, 2010Publication date: December 23, 2010Applicant: BIG FISH ENVIRONMENTAL, LLCInventor: John W. Publication number: 20100320154Abstract: A method for pre-separation of multi phase fluids of liquid-liquid phase and/or liquid-gas phases and/or gas-liquid phases, is disclosed, wherein one or more of the phases is suspended in water with bubble /drop/particle sizes in the sub micron and micron area and/or fine particular organic or inorganic matter is present in one or more of the phases, and where the device is placed in or in connection to a cyclone or flotation tank. The method is characterized by the fluid phases being made to flow through a tube which forms a spiral shape, in order to bring about an initial phase separation (coalescence) in the spiral shape, and the phases being led continuously tangentially out of the spiral shape in a cyclone- or flotation chamber wherein the further separation is generated. An apparatus to accomplish the method and applications thereof are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2009Publication date: December 23, 2010Applicant: SORB-WATER TECHNOLOGY ASInventor: Atle Mundheim Ylikangas

Publication number: 20100314304Abstract: A vertical cylindrical dewatering apparatus for dewatering fibrous slurries, slurry of manure and water, or other similar slurries. The apparatus includes a housing that includes a defined chamber having an enclosed top end with a slurry injector into the chamber, a centrally disposed first filtering element that includes first and second flightings, and a second vertical cylindrical filtering element including a support grid. The first and second filtering elements define the chamber. The slurry in-flow port at the top of the apparatus directs the slurry spiraling down between the flightings. The particles start building up at the bottom of the chamber as the water is filtered out from the housing through filtrate drains. Compressed air supplied through a rotating seal down through the centrally disposed filtering element moves through the filter, and through the particles forcing the water from between the particles out through the outer filter element.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2010Publication date: December 16, 2010Inventor: Floyd G. Publication number: 20100307970Abstract: An effluent treatment apparatus which is a flushed anaerobic digester with fixed biofilm (FAD system) is disclosed. The FAD system creates and maintains an optimum environment for the development and activity of anaerobic bacteria. The FAD system can be used for all treatment methods for anaerobic bacteria, regardless of function. The FAD system is intended for the production of biogas.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 8, 2008Publication date: December 9, 2010Applicant: GreenwattInventors: Morgan Jean-David Michael Thomas, Jacques Benoit Michotte

Publication number: 20100300947Abstract: A hollow fiber membrane module includes a hollow fiber membrane bundle (5) consisted of a plurality of hollow fiber membrane filaments (3), end part(s) (6, 1) at one end or both ends of the hollow fiber membrane bundle (5), an air inlet pipe (9) and a produced water pipe (8). An air distributing device (11) having air distributing holes (13) is disposed at an end surface of at least one of the end parts. The air distributing device (11) is communicated with the air inlet pipe (9). The air distributing holes (13) are opened towards roots of the hollow fiber membrane filaments (3). The phrase “end part(s) at one end or both ends of the hollow fiber membrane bundle (5)” means that one end of the hollow fiber membrane bundle (5) has the end part or both ends of the hollow fiber membrane bundle (5) have the end parts.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2008Publication date: December 2, 2010Inventor: Youfeng Sun

Publication number: 20100288695Abstract: A system for algae production has a first tank with an interior containing aerobic bacteria and waste water therein, a first aerator cooperative with the interior of the first tank for passing bubbles into the waste water and the aerobic bacteria in the interior of the first tank, a first collection chamber positioned above the first tank so as to collect carbon dioxide from a reaction of the aerobic bacteria with the waste water, a second tank having an interior containing algae and water therein, and a second aerator in fluid communication with the first collection chamber. A second aerator serves to pass carbon dioxide from the first collection chamber as mini microbubbles into the algae and water of the second tank. A second collection chamber is positioned above the second tank so as to collect oxygen produced from the algae. The second collection chamber is in fluid communication with the first aerator.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2009Publication date: November 18, 2010Inventor: Thomas ST. LAWRENCE

Publication number: 20100288683Abstract: A wastewater treatment system includes an outer tank, an aeration chamber partition located within the outer tank and forming an aeration chamber, and a draft tube located within the outer tank and vertically extending into the bottom of the aeration chamber to communicate the aeration chamber with an outer chamber formed. A submerged aerator is located within the draft tube. An inlet communicates influent into the aeration chamber and an outlet communicates effluent out of the outer tank. A scum baffle prevents floating solids from entering the outlet. The outer tank has an effluent weir which supports the scum baffle and the scum baffle has an upward facing flange that supports the aeration chamber partition. An air intake pipe extending to the aerator through an upper end of the draft tube has support members engaging a top of the draft tube to support the aerator within the draft tube.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2010Publication date: November 18, 2010Inventors: Jeff Coomer, David Clinkscales, Jeff Luthman
