Gun Patents (Class 211/64)
  • Patent number: 4792050
Abstract: A gun rack for storing rifles, shotguns, and carbines, vertically, barrel down position, consisting of a base plate, mounted to wall or in cabinet, having support bolts projecting outward on which are mounted wedge shaped pieces which grip the gun stock by conforming to the shape of the stock as they rotate or pivot about the support bolt. The wedge shaped pieces having an angled surface which, when two pieces are joined together face to face, form a dovetail wedge. Spacing of the wedge pieces are adjustable to accomodate different gun stock widths.

  • Patent number: 4747280
Abstract: A security lock for retaining a weapon in a storage rack can be operated either electrically by a remote switch or mechanically by a key. The weapon is locked to a main body by a lid which is pivotally mounted by a hinge and pivot pin on the body. The plunger of a solenoid extends into a slot formed in the pivot pin preventing it from rotating when the lid is in a locked position and the solenoid deenergized. A key actuated detent locks the pivot pin to the lid when the detent is in key locked position. Actuation of the solenoid retracts the plunger permitting the lid to pivot to open position without operating the key operated detent which maintains the pivot pin locked to the lid. Retraction of the key operated detent unlocks the pivot pin from the lid to enable the pivot pin to be slid axially along the hinge to disengage the solenoid plunger from the pivot pin slot permitting the lid to move to open position without energizing the solenoid.

  • Patent number: 4461385
Abstract: This invention discloses a high security, inexpensive and versatile manner of locking firearms by means of a cloth covered, hardened chain passing through the trigger guards or telescopic sight mounts, or by looping around the narrow pistol grip area of each gun. The hardened chain is then locked together in the center of the rack with a hardened padlock. The opposite ends of the chain are anchored by means of heavy lag bolts which reach the depth of the wall studs as the design of the locking racks provides for the anchoring members to be centered over the wall studs of the house. A unique covered chain slot design is disclosed which allows the chain to enter the anchor rails of the rack while still providing maximum protection from access to the head of the anchoring bolts. The rack designs disclosed allow for locking a plurality of long guns, a plurality of handguns, and a plurality of long guns and handguns simultaneously.
