Lowered From Vehicle Body (e.g., Outrigger) Patents (Class 212/302)
  • Patent number: 6308985
Abstract: A mobile work machine, especially an automatic concrete pump. The mobile work machine is arranged on a chassis (10) which has at least one preferably horizontally arranged telescopic segment (18) configured as a sliding housing, as well as a supporting strut (20) displaceable in said telescopic segment between a stowed transporting position and at least one extended position, the supporting strut supportable on the ground (28) via a foot element (26). In order to enable easy adjustment of the supporting strut width, it is proposed in accordance with the invention that the telescopic segment (18) consists of an inner segment part (44) fixed to the chassis and an outer segment part (48) which can be limitedly pivoted around an axis (46) parallel to the vertical axis of the chassis.

  • Patent number: 6293586
Abstract: The mobile working machine has a chassis (10) comprising at least four wheels (30) arranged in pair-wise associated with wheel axles (32) and connected to a frame (36) by interposed wheel springs (34) pre-tensionable by the effect of a load exerted on the frame. Two support legs (22) are also provided laterally one opposite the other on the sides of the frame, associated with one of the wheel axles (32), preferably the back axle, which have a foot-part (26) which can be extended downward and supported on the ground thereby lifting the chassis. At least one blocking mechanism is also provided to selectively release or block the spring path of one of the wheel springs (34). In order to ensure reliable and safe manipulation during blocking of the axle, the blocking mechanism (38) automatically moves in the blocking direction when the foot-part (26) is pulled out and automatically moves in the release direction when the foot-part (26) is retracted.

  • Patent number: 6276718
Abstract: A mobile machine, especially a self-propelling concrete pump, comprising a chassis (10) and at least one support strut (20) displaceable in a preferably horizontally oriented tubular or box-shaped telescopic section (18) between a retracted transport position to at least one extended support position, and supportable on the ground via a foot part (26) provided at its free end. In order to alter the support width across the support strut, in accordance with the invention, the support strut (30) has at least two strut parts (40, 42) which can pivot around an articulated axis (46), the axis being parallel to the vertical axis of the vehicle chassis (10).

  • Patent number: 6138845
Abstract: An automotive vehicle, in particular crane vehicle, has a chassis comprising a framework provided in the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. A slew ring is supported on the framework, and a superstructure which can be slewed relative to the chassis rests on the slew ring, in which superstructure a telescoping crane boom is provided. The vehicle comprises a 4-point-support, two points of support thereof being provided in the course of the longitudinal central axis of the vehicle and the two other points of support being provided at outrigger beams which are mounted in the region of the support of the slew ring, which can be extended in opposite directions transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and swivelled transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. This outrigger construction is only subject to bending in the crane operation and therefore does not have to be dimensioned with respect to torsional stresses.

  • Patent number: 6113356
Abstract: A placement and orienting apparatus for a pump and water passing pipe assembly includes a wheeled trailer supporting the pump and water passing pipe assembly; an upper frame structure; a lower frame structure; a turntable bearing assembly positioned between and interconnecting the upper and lower frame assemblies and permitting rotation of the upper frame structure relative to the lower frame structure; a motor drivably connected to one of the upper frame structure, the lower frame structure and the turntable bearing assembly to rotate the upper frame structure and the trailer relative to the lower frame structure and the ground; and at least one upright hydraulic cylinder having a cylinder lower end connected to the upper frame structure and having a cylinder upper end connected to the trailer to drive the upper and lower frame assemblies downwardly together from the trailer so that the lower frame structure makes contact with the ground and elevates the trailer from the ground.

  • Patent number: 6104098
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling the rotational movement of a ladder or the like of mobile equipment having stabilizing outriggers when the ladder is rotated manually to the side of the mobile equipment which does not have the outrigger fully deployed. A two-part switch, arranged for one part to rotate relative to the other, develops various combinations of signals dependent upon the relative positions of the parts of the switch. A control circuit is arranged to recognize the positions of the switch parts and supplies control signals which allow the ladder to rotate at a particular rate and to a particular point as the operator is steering the ladder to the side of the mobile equipment at which the outrigger is not fully deployed.

  • Patent number: 6092975
Abstract: A rear hydraulic outrigger assembly for a rotator or similar mobile wrecker wherein the rear outriggers are constructed and arranged to diverge rearwardly from the outrigger and are capable of outward lateral extension for increased stability. The rear outrigger includes a vertically extending portion and horizontally extending position which can be telescopically extended away from the rotator thereby increasing stability during loaded operation. This allows a large vehicle which requires rear stabilization room in the center part thereof for an underlift or similar structure while maintaining down and out stabilization advantages.

  • Patent number: 6039194
Abstract: A compact mobile crane for lifting or lowering a load to or from a roof or other location of a building, and for raising, lowering, and supporting a load along the sides of a building. Elements of the mobile crane can be folded to allow the mobile crane to be moved into, and transported by, a standard size building elevator. Wheel assemblies on the carriage of the mobile crane can be configured for four wheel steering, locked in predetermined directions, or free pivoting. The wheel assemblies further include a wheel retraction apparatus for retracting the wheels of the mobile crane to support the crane on fixed length supports. The carriage frame members include rows of holes spaced at equal distances from each other, providing a system for easily fastening numerous elements to the mobile crane.
