Abstract: A model train car having a union with a force sensor is disclosed. The force sensor is configured to measure the amount of force acting on the coupler. The information gathered from the force sensor may work in conjunction with a communication link or a local control unit so that realistic train effects can be produced reflecting the change in force being felt by the model train.

Abstract: A coupling arrangement for coupling together rail vehicles such as railway carriages and locomotives consisting of a coupling head comprising a coupling housing (1) joined to the rail vehicle and having an active coupling device in the form of a plunger (2) movable between an outer and an inner position and designed to co-operate with a similar plunger in a corresponding coupling head when two coupling heads are coupled together, the plungers (2) being movable in directions that are substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal directions of the coupling heads and can be released at uncoupling. A locking device (7) is provided in the coupling arrangement and comprises a locking member (7.5) arranged to be brought into contact with the plunger (2) when this is in its outer position and to prevent the plunger (2) being displaced from this position.

Abstract: A coupling head housing of a central buffer coupling for rail vehicles, especially low-platform vehicles, with a lock with rotatable disk-type hook and articulated coupling ring, which is located retracted inside the centering projection when the coupling is not in use, and with a funnel for receiving the centering projection of an opposite coupling head of the same design. Offsets in height and lateral offsets, but even angular offsets are to be compensated prior to the coupling process. Accordingly, the front part, which combines a compact design with the known advantages of older coupling designs for the largest possible gripping range, within which a coupling process can still be initiated as intended when the coupling head housings are axially offset in relation to one another and it can be concluded after the adjustment to one another.
Abstract: The invention pertains to a coupling device for a conveyor device which in particular is used for the suspended transport of clothing in the garment industry, whereby the conveyor device comprises a support rail which is suspended on a runner or a similar element, and whereby stay pipes (7) are arranged as holding devices in a movable fashion on said support rail via support straps (15). According to the invention, adjacent stay pipes (7) may be connected to each other selectively by coupling elements (1,2) that may engage each other. A blocking device (20,21) is provided for selectively blocking and releasing the coupling connection between adjacent stay pipes (7), whereby the blocking device comprises a blocking block (22) which is connected to the end of the stay pipe and assigned to the respective coupling element (1,2), and the blocking block may be pivoted between a blocking position and a release position in which the coupling engagement is not prevented.
Abstract: An improved coupler control circuit board which can be positioned in an environmentally protected location for controlling an uncoupling operation of a mechanical type coupler mechanism utilized to connect adjacently disposed ends of a pair of passenger transit type railway cars. Such coupler control circuit board includes a power supply device connected to receive a predetermined input voltage. The power supply device reduces such predetermined input voltage received therein to a suitable predetermined output voltage. A timer/sequencer device is connected to receive as inputs thereto both such predetermined output voltage from such power supply device and an uncoupling command signal from a momentary input command for providing a pair of output signals.

Abstract: A mechanical coupling for coupling together two spaced conveyor rods adapted to be moved on rollers on a suspension conveyor system, the rods extending in their direction of transport and being aligned with respect to each other, the coupling comprising two coupling members and each of the coupling members being arranged on one of the conveyor rods. Each coupling member includes a coupling face, the coupling face of each being adapted to be moved relative to the coupling face of the other coupling member. In the coupled condition, the coupling faces of the two coupling members engage one behind the other in a direction transverse to the longitudinal center line. In order to permit the use of a mechanical coupling of this type in an automated sequence of operations, a rigid coupling connection is provided so that the distance between the conveyor rods remains essentially constant even under the influence of transporting forces.
Abstract: Each coupling head of a vehicle coupling comprises a spring accumulator 50 consisting of compression springs 27, 30 which are energized by a pressure bar 20 when a tension bolt 3 of the head is moved inward. The coupling of the tension bolt 3 in a tension bolt receptacle 4 occurs by engagement levers 12, which are locked by a displaceable frame 16 in the coupled state. The unlocking is remotely operable by actuation of a solenoid 45 which actuates a latch 32 through an unlocking bar 41. Because of this unlocking, the frame 16 is displaced by the force of the spring accumulator, so that the locking of the engagement levers 12 is released and the coupling can be decoupled.
Abstract: An automatic air couplter for railroad cars includes a bracket (26) which supports a cylinder housing (72) underneath the coupler mechanism of a railroad car. A face plate (60) is disposed on a piston (70) which reciprocates within the cylinder housing (72). A spring (76) is maintained in compression between the face plate (60) and the cylinder housing (72) to provide an outward force. Alignment devices (62) and (64) allow for automatic alignment of the face plate (60) such that orifices (66) can mate therebetween to allow air to pass therethrough.
Abstract: An improved automatic central buffer coupling for rail vehicles includes a cone formed with a tip portion on the end of the cone having a convex surface and a funnel-shaped member for receiving the cone member of an opposite coupling which is formed with an inwardly inclined chamfer at the inlet opening thereof.
Abstract: A device for uncoupling central buffer couplings on rail vehicles having a rotatable disk hook includes a cam operatively connected to a worm wheel for rotation therewith which, in turn, is connected to an electric motor. The cam is rotatably operative to engage a bridge member connected to the disk hook in order to rotate the disk hook and also to engage a switch for energizing and de-energizing the motor.
Abstract: A Willison rigid jaw coupler with a locksetting pawl for interlockingly engaging the locklifting lever, when the lock is in lockset, is described. A special fulcrumming of the pawl is provided to cause disengagement of the pawl from the lever to allow the lock to return from lockset to the locked position.
Abstract: A rigid jaw-type coupler having a locksetting mechanism which can be easily tripped to restore the lock from a lockset position back to a locked position. The mechanism comprises a lock operating lever which is provided with a projecting lug that is designed to slidably engage and override a specially contoured cam which is carried by a pawl for holding the lever and lock in a lockset position.
