Link Or Bar Type Patents (Class 213/78)
  • Patent number: 7814841
Abstract: A rake for use in trams and suburban vehicles comprising modules and single-articulation devices for connecting the modules, having an axis of rotation, or dual-articulation connection devices having two axes of rotation which are spaced-apart along the longitudinal line of the rake is disclosed. The rake comprises at least two sub-assemblies of modules, the modules of which are mutually connected by means of single-articulation connection devices, each sub-assembly being connected to the or each adjacent sub-assembly by means of a dual-articulation connection device. The rake comprises at least one sub-assembly of modules which comprises two carrier modules which are provided with supporting and guiding axles, and a module which has no axles and which is suspended between the carrier modules.

  • Patent number: 6390314
Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods that reduce the number of mis-routed trolleys in an AGV system. The invention provides a solenoid driven automatic coupling for coupling a trolley to an AGV. When an AGV arrives at a particular preprogrammed destination, as determined for example by track patches read by the AGV, the AGV system switches the solenoid power causing the automatic coupling to free the trolley to disengage from the AGV. The AGV may then pull away from the trolley, leaving the trolley at its programmed destination. The system substantially eliminates the risk of a trolley not being uncoupled prior to the AGV's departing from the trolley's intended destination.

  • Patent number: 4863045
Abstract: A rotary railway drawbar coupler is provided which comprises two elongated shank members each having a convex butt surface at one end and a generally circular butt surface at the other end. The two elongated shanks are positioned between the two railway cars being coupled such that the circular butt ends are adjacent each other. A connecting collar surrounds the circular flange of which the circular butt surface is a part. Each elongated shank may have a longitudinal cavity extending inwardly from the circular butt surface to accommodate a cylindrical bar that extends between the elongated shanks.

  • Patent number: 4794867
Abstract: The invention relates to an omnibus which is suitable for train formation, can be driven independently and can either be freely steered or guided on tracks. In order not to disfigure the omnibus front by protruding coupling devices, and to be able to carry out the coupling operation without an assistant from the driver's position of the particular omnibus to be coupled, it is envisaged that at least the front coupling is designed in the form of a bar which can be extended or retracted under remote control. In the extended state, the bar can be moved under control within limits and can be engaged with the counter coupling head of the omnibus in front. The coupled omnibuses of a train are simultaneously and uniformly controlled from the driver's position of the first omnibus with regard to all their traction and braking functions.
