Abstract: A receptacle includes a base panel and a sidewall having first and second sets of opposed side panels. First and second retention assemblies are formed through the first and second sets of side panels, and the first retention assembly is vertically offset from the second retention assembly. The first and second retention assemblies each include a plurality of tiered engagements, which engagements have a hole and a rigid finger projecting downwardly into the hole. Bags are applied to the receptacle and retained by the engagements in a tiered, nested fashion. The receptacle is collapsible from an assembled condition to a disassembled condition or a storage condition.

Abstract: A multi-functional waste can has a dual function. A lid is openable at both sides like a seesaw or openable while being lifted upwardly by a foot lever. It has a rotating hinge to connect a main body, the lid and the foot lever forms a single unit to compress wastes using the lid. An auxiliary can be detachably arranged in the waste can so that wastes with offensive odor can be sealed in a disposable bag. The rotating hinge of the multi-functional waste can is rotatably connected to an upper portion of the waste can via a hinge pin, the foot lever is connected to the rotating hinge via a push rod, and a pair of seesaw shafts disposed on the upper portion is arranged at the lid. One of the seesaw shaft is connected collinearly with the central axis of the rotating hinge.

Abstract: A support structure for a sealable plastic bag, the structure comprises a receptacle having a top and a bottom, the bottom of the receptacle adapted to contact a surface so that the receptacle is capable of standing in an upright position, the top of the receptacle comprising an elliptically-shaped opening, the elliptically-shaped opening being defined by a rim of the receptacle and having two opposing narrower ends at the rim; the rim of the elliptically-shaped opening having at least two notches, wherein one of the said two notches is disposed at the first of the two narrower ends of the elliptically-shaped opening, and wherein a second of the said two notches is disposed at the second of the two narrower ends of the elliptically-shaped opening in the receptacle. A method of filling a sealable plastic bag utilizing the support structure is also disclosed.

Abstract: An attachment device includes an expandable element, the expandable element having a first end, a retaining element engaged to the first end, an elongate portion, a tubular element in surrounding engagement to at least a portion of the elongate portion, a looped end, and a grasping element engaged to the looped end. The tubular element may be disposed between the retaining element and the grasping element. The attachment device is constructed and arranged to releasably secure a liner within a receptacle.

Abstract: A receptacle includes a body configured to receive a liner and a cinch disposed on the body. The cinch includes a projection disposed outward of the body and configured such that at least a portion of the liner can be disposed between the projection and the body. The cinch further includes a slot having an open end and a closed end, wherein the slot is disposed substantially adjacent the projection and configured such that at least a portion of the liner can be disposed and retained within the slot.

Abstract: The invention provides for a container that may include a liquid-holding vessel and a skeleton shell supporting the liquid holding vessel. The liquid-holding vessel may comprise a flexible polymer or plastic material for preventing contact between a liquid stored in or dispensed from the container and the skeleton. The liquid-holding vessel and the closure may be formed from a minimal amount of polymer or plastic.

Abstract: A waste storage device is provided including a waste storage cassette receiving chamber (132) for receiving a cassette (172) rotatable within the chamber and containing tubing for enveloping waste. The device further includes a waste inlet and a throat area therebetween, wherein a releasable gripping assembly (155, 158, 159, 168) is provided in the throat area and arranged for actuation between a released configuration defining an aperture for passage of waste therethrough and a gripping configuration defining a restriction in the throat area.

Abstract: A touch control arrangement is arranged for a container having a foldable cover being folded between an opened position and a closed position via an actuation unit. The touch control arrangement includes a power source and a touch actuator electrically linked to the power source, wherein the touch actuator is located out of the storage cavity of the container body and is arranged in such a manner that when the touch actuator is activated by a presence of a touch, the actuation unit is actuated to move the foldable cover from the closed position to the opened position.

Abstract: A receptacle includes a body configured to receive a liner and a cinch disposed on the body. The cinch includes a projection disposed outward of the body and configured such that at least a portion of the liner can be disposed between the projection and the body. The cinch further includes a slot having an open end and a closed end, wherein the slot is disposed substantially adjacent the projection and configured such that at least a portion of the liner can be disposed and retained within the slot.

Abstract: A cartridge connectable to a fuel cell is disclosed. The cartridge comprises an outer casing and an inner flexible liner containing fuel for the fuel cell. The inner flexible liner may have an insert disposed inside the inner liner to facilitate the transport of fuel from the cartridge to the fuel cell. The insert minimizes the fuel that is trapped within the cartridge. The inner flexible liner can be used without the outer casing. The outer casing can be substantially rigid or flexible. The cartridge is also adaptable to receive byproducts from the fuel cell. The cartridge can also be pressurized to push fuel to the fuel cell. Unidirectional relief valves are also disclosed to prevent internal pressure in the cartridge from becoming too high or too low.

Abstract: A flexible container assembly and methods for making and using such an assembly are disclosed herein. The assembly is configured to hold an amount of material, such as heavy and/or bulky material (e.g., industrial, job or work site waste material). In some embodiments, the assembly includes a support structure and a flexible container structure configured to interface with, so as to be supported at least in part by, the support structure.

Abstract: An improved receptacle liner bag is formed of two layers of thin flexible stretchable plastic sheets which are sealed along the sides and bottom, but are unsealed along the top of the bag. The sheets are die-cut to form a framed opening which defines a band between the sides and the top of the bag. When the bag is placed in the receptacle, the band may be disposed around the outside of the sides of the receptacle and stretched over the base of the receptacle so as to provide a hold-down for the bag in the receptacle. The sheets may be perforated along a line below the framed opening. The line, when opened, forms an auxiliary band which can be stretched over and placed behind a hinge of a lid of the receptacle to secure the back of the liner bag in the receptacle.

Abstract: A bag holder for holding a t-shirt bag includes a holder frame and a holder handle that is secured to the holder frame. The holder frame selectively holds the t-shirt bag and including a first handle restraint that restrains a first bag handle of the t-shirt bag, a second handle restraint that restrains a second bag handle of the t-shirt bag, and a bag support region that supports the t-shirt type bag near the bag opening. The holder handle is movable relative to the holder frame between a carrying position in which the holder handle is used for carrying the holder frame and the t-shirt bag, and an attachment position in which that holder handle is used for hanging the holder frame and the t-shirt bag near a vertical surface.

Abstract: A trashcan includes a container having a base and a peripheral wall extending upwardly from the base forming an interior space for receipt of a trash bag therein; and a trash bag retention member disposed on the peripheral wall, the retention member defining a passageway into the interior space of the container and comprising a plurality of resilient, flexible fingers configured to receive and retain therebetween a portion of a trash bag. Each finger includes a portion thereof that extends away from the peripheral wall. Each finger is “bent” and extends away from the peripheral wall. A finger may extend away from the peripheral wall on the exterior of the container, away from the peripheral wall on the interior of the container, or both. A method of making the trashcan includes injection molding the container and the retention member separately or, alternatively, together.

Abstract: A clamp for securing a flexible sheet to the upper portion of a wall of a water tank includes a pair of thin, flexible strips spaced apart by a plurality of spacers near a top portion of the strips. At least one rod or threaded bolt extends through holes provided in the strips below the spacers. Nuts carried by the rod or bolt can be moved inwardly so as to deflect the flexible sheets inwardly thereby clamping the flexible sheet between the clamp and the tank wall.

Abstract: A packaging container comprises an openable outer case and a bag for packaging a resin material in the outer case. The bag is partially turned back at fold portions so that part of the bag is turned inside out, and at least part of the out-turned part is fixed as a fixing part to any part other than the bag. The inner surfaces of the bag at the fold portions are placed in contact with each other, forming a contact portion, to seal the resin material. The contact portion is placed in correspondence with an openable part of an opening flap of the outer case.

Abstract: An apparatus which is used to very securely retain a disposable trash bag onto the upper interior circumference of the trash receptacle portion of a janitorial cart. It includes a retaining ring which is securely retained by spring force action against the upper interior rim of the trash receptacle. A trigger mechanism is used to lock the retaining ring in a raised condition over the upper interior circumference so that the open ends of a disposable trash bag are inserted between the retaining ring and the upper interior surface. The trigger mechanism is retained in place by engaging teeth which engage ratcheted receiving teeth. A pair of pushbuttons serve to release the trigger mechanisms so that the return spring force causes the retaining ring to move upwardly and release the entrapped disposable garbage bag.

The receptacle extensions can be fixed or removably attachable to the trash receptacle, or can be fixed to a removable receptacle adaptor. They can be curved and/or slanted inward. They can pivot inward during bag removal to relieve strain on the bag handles. Pivoting handles can be conveniently released by a foot pedal or by actuating a hand trigger while lifting the bag handles. A receptacle lid can be included, and a foot pedal can be used to operate the lid.

Some embodiments of the trash can assembly include a body component and a lid configured to move between an open position and a closed position. In some variants, the lid can be moved between the open and closed positions by a power operated driving mechanism, such as a motor and/or other drivetrain components. In certain embodiments, the trash can assembly includes a clutch mechanism to facilitate manual operation of the lid while inhibiting or preventing damage to the motor and/or other drivetrain components.

Abstract: A portable yard waste bag system that includes a bag holding accessory that attaches to the top edge of a wheelbarrow that temporarily holds a yard waste bag in an opened position in the bucket. The accessory includes a top ring with a pendent skirt. The lower edges of the front section of the skirt curves around and connects to the top edge of a wheelbarrow. When assembled on the wheelbarrow, the lower edge of the skirt engages the bucket's front top edge while the top ring is held in a forward extending, diagonally position directly over the wheel. A waste bag is unfolded and extends through the top ring's center opening so that the bag's bottom end rests inside the bucket. The top edge of the bag is folded over the top ring. An optional lid is provided and connects over the top ring to close the bag.

Abstract: A container assembly is presented that includes a container and a collar supported by the container. The container possesses a bottom surface, at least one wall with at least one top edge extending from the bottom surface. The collar includes at least one inner wall and at least one outer wall, with at least one curved edge joining the at least one outer wall and the at least one inner wall. The inner and outer walls form a channel. In one embodiment, a flexible liner is held in place by the collar.

Abstract: A free-standing yard refuse collection device including a portable frame body having parallel front and rear frames attached together with braces and a detachable reusable elongated collection bag into which refuse is directly raked or into which a separate leaf collection liner bag is disposed. At least one elongated resealable opening on a top side of the collection bag permits removal of the liner bag filled with yard refuse including leaves.

Abstract: The present invention broadly comprises a garbage can including a can portion with an open top and a lid with a bag ring pivotally attached to the lid and arranged to pivot onto and off the upper rim. Also included is a pedal assembly attached to a riser that moves the lid off the container when the pedal is depressed. A damper is fixedly attached to the outer surface of the container bottom wall and operatively attached to the riser. In a preferred embodiment, when the pedal is released, the damper prevents the riser from falling freely thereby causing the lid to close slowly.

Abstract: A waste container for disposing sanitary waste, such as soiled diapers, comprises a canister having a storage space, an opening at an upper end and a bottom at a lower end. A retainer frame is pivotally attached to the canister and has an aperture for inserting a trash bag through the aperture and folding an upper edge of the trash bag over the retainer frame. A retainer is pivotally attached to the canister and has a rim that inserts into the aperture of the retainer frame to retain the trash bag. A lid having a hole which aligns with the aperture of the retainer frame is pivotally attached to the canister for allowing the lid to pivot between a closed position covering the opening and an open position. A sliding door is coupled to the lid and is slidable between a closed position and an open position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a disposal container for used chewing gum and the like having a circular container having at least one side wall and a floor member; the sidewall extending substantially perpendicularly from the bottom wall to define an interior of the container; the sidewall having an upper rim and an opening opposite to the floor member for gum disposal and bag removal; and at least one hook insert being attached to the upper rim of the sidewall; a removable disposable liner being fixedly attached to the at least one hook insert; a detachable lid attached to a hinged mounting bracket located on the outer edge of the upper rim of the sidewall to enclose the opening opposite to the floor member. The chewing gum disposal device of the present invention may be wall mountable or mountable on a base stand member.

Abstract: Disclosed is a trash container with a user actuated release mechanism that releases the container from the base allowing lifting of the container off the base, thereby leaving the filled trash bag disposed on the base of the trash can. The trash container of the present invention enables removal of the trash bag without requiring lifting of the filled trash bag to the top of the trash container. In this manner, the filled trash bag can be dragged or lifted slightly when being taken out to the curbside for pickup. In another embodiment of a trash container, a door panel is locked in place using a locking ring that once removed enables opening of the door panel to remove the trash bag. In this manner, the filled trash bag can be dragged or lifted slightly when being taken out to the curbside for pickup.

Abstract: An improved structure of trashcan includes an outer can with a controllable upper cover. The upper cover has a connecting hole with a stepping part that moves downward in the outer can when being stepped. A base is at the bottom of the upper cover. First, second, third, and fourth tracks surround the stepping part at symmetrical positions of the base. Each track accommodates a restoring assembly that connects to the stepping part so that the stepping part can restore its original position after the stepping part moves to the bottom of the trashcan. The first track and the second track are stacked vertically. The third track and the fourth track are also stacked vertically. This configuration decreases the area occupied by the base. As a result, the stepping area of the stepping part is increased for the user's convenience to step on.

In another embodiment, an apparatus comprises a bin having a floor, side walls and an open end; a bag mounting ring mounted inside a perimeter of upper wall portions of the bin adjacent to the open end; a lid that is movable on pivots on the upper wall portions, wherein the lid fits over and at least partially covers the bag mounting ring when the lid is closed.

Abstract: A bag support is provided for supporting the upper portion of a bag. The bag support includes first and second side rails generally parallel to each other. A first bag retainer is positioned between the first and second rails for receiving a first portion of an upper end of a first bag thereon. The first bag retainer pivotable between a first position and a second retaining position for supporting the first bag in an open configuration.

Abstract: A securing device for securing a garbage bag in a garbage receptacle featuring an elongated U-shaped base bar having a front panel and a back panel connected via a connector segment, the base bar is adapted to snugly wrap over a top edge of the garbage receptacle simultaneously sandwiching the garbage bag; an anchor component with a first attachment means for securing the anchor component to the garbage receptacle; and a cord connecting the anchor component and the base bar.

Abstract: A device and method for collecting matter into a container. The device includes a passageway with an entrance and an exit. The passageway exit is removably affixed to the entrance of a collection container, such as a recyclable bag. The passageway entrance includes a lip projection with lateral wings upon which a user can stand. While standing on the lateral wings, a user can manually direct matter, such as dead leaves, into the collection container via the projecting lip of the device, thereby increasing work efficiency. Furthermore, the device can be collapsed or unfolded into a substantially flat configuration for ease of transport and storage.

Abstract: A removable trash can liner system for use with a trash can of the type having an interior surface and an upper rim is disclosed. The removable trash can liner system includes a liner defining an at least semi-flexible membrane having an open upper portion defining an upper circumferential edge. The removable trash can liner system further includes a liner holder defining a substantially elongated member adapted to be secured along the trash can upper rim. The liner holder includes a clip configured along the liner holder which is adapted to engage at least a portion of the liner upper portion to releasably secure the liner within the trash can along the trash can interior surface.

Abstract: A waste-disposal unit comprises a bin having an open top end for accessing an inner cavity of the bin. A support in the bin is adapted to support a bag unit at the open top end for waste to be received in the bag unit in the inner cavity of the bin. A covering device is removably positioned on the bin at the open top end. The covering device comprises a body for covering at least a portion of the bag unit when installed on the top open end. A downward projection on the covering device, the downward projection adapted to have at least a tip thereof positioned lower than an uppermost edge of the bag unit, and inward of an outermost edge of the bag unit in the inner cavity of the bin. A method for inserting a bag unit in the bin is also provided.

Abstract: A diaper pail includes a pail, an upper enclosure having a substantially smooth and continuous outer surface, and a drum assembly mounted within the upper enclosure for transferring a soiled diaper into a disposal bag while minimizing the release of odor from previously disposed diapers already within the disposal bag. The outer surface of the upper enclosure and drum cooperate to form a smooth continuous outer surface which is easily cleaned. The drum assembly includes a flexible plastic seal received around an opening in the lower portion of the drum housing. A deck portion of the seal engages an outer surface of the drum, with the free edge of the flexible seal being movable relative to fixed edge to conform to irregularities in the outer surface of the drum. An actuator handle actuates movement of the drum.

Abstract: A materials handling apparatus for aiding in loading and transporting various materials has three major components, a wheeled cart, a truncated conical cylinder which is carried by the cart and a compaction lid which provide the apparatus with the capability of being operated in three different modes. In the first mode, a conventional trash bag is placed inside the cylinder and the lid can be placed atop the cylinder. In this mode, the apparatus operates as a conventional trash can. In a second mode, the cylinder in placed within a trash bag to protect it from being damaged by materials such as tree and shrub clippings or other materials which could tear the bag. In the third mode no trash bag is used, the materials are loaded into the cylinder, and when loading is complete, the cylinder is lifted off of the materials for direct deposit into a disposal site.

Abstract: A container including a support structure defined by a side wall portion and a bottom wall portion. An upper portion is integrally attached to the support structure, where the upper portion is formed of a flexible material defining opposing portions. The flexible material has a lower stiffness than a stiffness of the side wall portion, and the opposing portions are movable between a closed position located in engagement with each other and an open position where the opposing portions are separated from each other defining an opening to an interior area of the container. A frangible portion is provided on the upper portion forming a predefined separation line for separating at least a portion of the upper portion from the support structure.

Abstract: A liquid container assembly for a spray gun can include a ring, a collapsible liner, and a lid for closing the open end of the liner. The ring can include a peripheral flange, a ring recess, an inner wall, and at least one rib segment extending from the inner wall. The collapsible liner can include a liner side wall formed with an open end and a liner lip at the open end. The liner can be is insertable through the ring such that the liner lip is received and supported by the ring recess. Further, the liner can be collapsible during use as liquid is removed from the liner. The lid can include at least one tab that can extend from an outer circumference of the lid. The tabs can engage the rib segments to threadably attach to the ring.

Abstract: The apparatus holds open the mouth of a plastic film bag, while holding it upright for filling. It is readily applied and removed after the filling has been done. It is easily cleaned. The holder has a convenient footprint for storage beneath the bag package when in a storage mode. The holder has arms that engage a surface of the bag proximate the bag opening and leg members that engage the other surface of the bag. The arms are removably attached to the leg members with the bag film sandwiched in between them by magnetic force. The combination of spaced-apart arms and spaced-apart leg members together hold the bag open and upright for filling.

Abstract: A liquid container system for a spray gun. The container system includes an outer cup, a collapsible liner for holding a liquid to be sprayed, and a lid for closing the liner. A mounting ring may be used in the cup to make locking engagement with the lid. A lip at the open end of the liner is supported by the mounting ring. A removable lid with a liquid outlet is inserted into the mounting ring, clamping the liner lip to the mounting ring and providing for leak-free operation of the system. Alternatively, the lid may include a cylindrical portion for making sealing engagement with the open end of the liner and projection threads for locking the cup. An adapter connects the liquid outlet of the lid to the spray gun. A collar may facilitate locking engagement of the adapter with the lid.

Abstract: A port and method for retaining a sheet of material within a wall. The port comprises an opening extending through the wall and a single slot extending radially therefrom. The method comprises twisting a free edge of the material into a cylindrical shape, inserting the cylindrical shape of the material through the opening and pulling the cylinder into the slot so as to secure the cylindrical shape therein. A container may also have a sidewall and at least one a port for retaining a sheet of material within a wall of the container extending therethrough. Each port comprises an opening extending through the wall and a single slot extending radially therefrom. The slot may include a stress relieving bore having an inverted tear-drop shape at a distal end thereof.

Abstract: A wastebasket designed to work in combination with a trash bag insert, the wastebasket having one or more openings or slots on one or more of its sidewalls, the openings extending from the upper rim of the wastebasket to a point near the bottom of the wastebasket, so as to allow for an inward and outward motion of the sidewall sections so as to allow overstuffing of the trash bag while allowing the overstuffed bag to readily be removed from the wastebasket and/or the insertion of a trash bag whose opening circumference is smaller than the upper rim circumference of the wastebasket, whereby the trash bag is secured to the rim of the wastebasket.

Abstract: According to one representative embodiment, a fluid storage device for storing a first fluid in a second fluid storage container fillable with a second fluid includes a first fluid storage container, a first fluid inlet coupled to the first fluid storage container, and a first fluid outlet coupled to the first fluid storage container. The first fluid storage container is flexible. The first fluid inlet is communicable in fluid receiving communication with a first fluid source. The first fluid in the first fluid storage container is caused to drain from the first fluid outlet based on at least one of a first fluid level, a first fluid storage container pressure, a second fluid storage container pressure, the second fluid storage container filling with the second fluid, the first fluid outlet being opened for first fluid egress, and a first fluid outlet pressure.
