  • Patent number: 8272536
Abstract: The present invention provides improved retention of O-rings and easier O-ring replacement by using an O-ring retainer in a bar gun. Furthermore, the assembly of the butterfly plates of the bar gun is improved by using molded ball bearing clusters that fit in recesses in the butterfly plates, thus eliminating the welding of the balls to the butterfly plates and the need to purchase such precise and intricately small balls. The O-ring retainer and molded ball bearing cluster are preferably made from bearing quality acetal plastic materials.

  • Patent number: 4810097
Abstract: A dispensing apparatus is located in the rear of a tip truck body. When the tipping body of the truck is inclined gravity causes bulk material held in the tipping body at either side of a partition to feed augers. The dispensing apparatus includes at least one tank preferably a central tank holding powdered material such as cement powder dispensed through a chute by virtue of a paddle wheel dispenser. Water tanks which dispense water through an outlet are located at either side of the cement powder tank. A common drive shaft drives the augers and the paddle wheel. The dispensing of material is controlled by controllers such that a predetermined ratio of material can be dispensed into, for example a mixer. The dispenser can be used for dispensing the constituents of concrete and may be removable from the tip truck body so that the tip truck can function as a normal tip truck.

  • Patent number: 4444337
Abstract: An apparatus and method for determining the heating value of gaseous fuels is disclosed which include the novel means for establishing a mixture of air and the gaseous fuel of interest in known volumetric proportions. An electrochemical sensor is provided to sense the products of combustion of the precise volumetric mixture and the output of the sensor is indicative of the relation of the mixture to a stoichiometric mixture of fuel and air. This system is provided for adjusting the proportions of fuel and air in the mixture of interest in response to the output of the electrochemical sensor until the sensor indicates that the mixture of known proportions is substantially stoichiometric. The system is provided for determining the heating value of the fuel from a known relationship between the heating value of the constituents of the fuel and the amount of oxygen required for stoichiometric combustion.
