Vertical Axis Patents (Class 222/140)
  • Patent number: 8245871
Abstract: A container to contain fluid products, installed in a dispensing machine for fluid products, which is provided with a pair of delivery stations which have respective axes of delivery (X1) arranged at a determinate distance (D1) from each other. The container comprises an outer wall shaped so as to define an inner compartment consisting of two cylindrical zones connected by an intermediate zone. The distance (D2) between the longitudinal axes (X2) of the two cylindrical zones is substantially equal to the determinate distance (D1) between the axes of delivery (X1).

  • Publication number: 20120037660
Abstract: A method of measuring or dosing dry mixture ingredients includes providing separate flow channels for ingredients. The flow channels including at least a first flow channel and a second flow channel configured such that the first flow channel is at least partially disposed around the second flow channel. The first flow channel may include an outer concentric metering screw and the second flow channel may include an inner concentric metering screw. The method further including providing a first material to the first flow channel and a second material to a second flow channel, wherein one of the first and second materials comprises a single dry ingredient and the other of the first and second material comprises multiple dry ingredients. The materials are advanced through the channels to a shared exit where a mixing zone is provided.

  • Patent number: 8020590
Abstract: Nozzle for filling a container with at least a first and a second viscous or paste-like material, of the type including an outer cylindrical body having a delivery mouth. The nozzle has at least two cylindrical chambers, placed inside an outer cylindrical body and fluidly separated, for the respective passage of the first and of the second viscous material, each of the at least two chambers having an outflow section of the relative viscous material substantially positioned in correspondence to a delivery mouth.

  • Patent number: 7311265
Abstract: A liquid reservoir of a hand-held, air-assisted spray apparatus is characterized by a plurality (i.e., two or more) of liquid-holding compartments. Each liquid-holding compartment is connected through an outlet port into fluid communication with the flow channel of the hand-held spraying apparatus. The liquid-holding compartments are isolated from fluid communication with each other such that a liquid introduced into one of the compartments is held apart from a liquid introduced into the other compartment. A rotatable element is associated with each liquid-holding compartment. Each rotatable element has a predetermined displacement. The rotatable elements are coupled together for rotation by a common shaft, so that, in use, the relative volumes of liquids dispensed from the respective liquid-holding compartments into the flow channel remain in a predetermined ratio regardless of the rate at which the liquids flow from their respective compartments.

  • Patent number: 6223949
Abstract: The present invention includes a spinning valve having an inner valve portion and an outer valve portion, and having multiple inlets and multiple chambers at different heights along the longitudinal axis of the inner valve portion. The present invention also includes a spinning valve having an inner valve portion and an outer valve portion, with multiple inlets at the same height along the longitudinal axis of the inner valve portion with single or multiple chambers at that location along the longitudinal axis. In each of these valves, the inner valve portion is adapted to spin within the outer valve portion. Additionally, the present invention includes an apparatus for dispensing two or more discrete streams of fluid into a series of containers by using one of the aforementioned valves.

  • Patent number: 5058774
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for detecting and collecting spilled fuel products from fuel dispensers of the type that are customarily mounted on a raised concrete island. One or more deflectors are mounted within a casing for the fuel dispenser at an elevation higher than the raised island. The deflectors serve to redirect the spilled fuel onto the top of the raised island so that the existence of the spilled fuel may be detected and corrected. It is possible for the deflectors to include channel members and for the spilled fuel to be delivered to more than one location on the island. In another embodiment of the invention, the spilled fuel product is conveyed to a flame and vapor safe container for disposal or recovery.

  • Patent number: 4458733
Abstract: Apparatus for selectively mixing two components such as a powder and a liquid in a quick and efficient manner. The apparatus includes a compressible chamber with a liquid component therein, the compressible chamber including gas-trapping and reservoir compartments in open communication. Included is an arrangement to access the gas-trapping compartment such that the chamber may be connected to a container having a mixing component such as a powder therein so as to form a selectively opened pathway between the container and the compressible chamber of the apparatus. The apparatus may include the container. After the pathway is opened, the gas-trapping and reservoir compartments are selectively positioned to facilitate proper mixing of the liquid component in the chamber with the component in the container.
