Abstract: A method for dosed dispensing of a pressurized liquid is presented. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, the method includes dispensing a liquid in a container via a dispensing opening into a dispensing space, where a difference in pressure between the container and the dispensing space is equalized in stages by using an intermediate dosing chamber. In a first stage the pressure is equalized between the container and the dosing chamber, then a quantity of the liquid is dispensed from the container into the dosing chamber, maintaining the pressure equivalence between the container and the dosing chamber by pressure communication between them. Next, the dosing chamber is isolated both as to gaseous and liquid connection from the container.

  • Patent number: 4266695
Abstract: A manually operable dispenser for delivering predetermined quantities of material such as sugar is disclosed. The dispenser is adapted to receive a bulk sugar container and to retain the container in an inverted position to prevent foreign materials such as moisture, dirt, dust and the like from entering the dispenser or container. The unit includes a divider wall in which is mounted a rotatable transfer drum having a receptacle with an opening on the surface of the drum. The drum is normally oriented so that the receptacle is in communication with the sugar container so that the receptacle is filled and ready for use. A drive mechanism is provided for rotating the drum to position the receptacle below the divider wall to dump a predetermined quantity of sugar out of the receptacle, the quantity depending upon the volume of the receptacle. The drum is biased to return to its initial position upon release of the dispensing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4216894
Abstract: An improved soldering device has a magazine to hold preformed solder shapes for dispensing them through a tubular duct onto a channel formed in a soldering bit. The channel leads to an opening formed in the bit to permit passage therethrough of the preformed solder shapes. An actuator is affixed to the magazine to dispense the preformed solder shapes one at a time. The preformed solder shapes do not become molten until passing through the opening in the bit.

  • Patent number: 4182229
Abstract: An electric motor drives a cam through one revolution during a corn popping cycle. One end of a pivoted lever bears against the periphery of the cam at its bottom to thereby hold the bottom cover of the popping vessel, secured to the other end of the lever, in place on the bottom of the popping vessel while the corn is being popped and to permit the cover to move away from the bottom of the vessel after it is popped thereby discharging the popped corn. A push rod riding on the top of the cam operates a measuring pocket at the start of the popping cycle to introduce a measured quantity of unpopped corn into the popping vessel at the start of the cycle. An arm extending from a side of the cam moves along a resilient tube filled with popping oil as the cam rotates to pump a measured quantity of oil into the popping vessel. The bottom cover of the popping vessel has a continuously energized heater which maintains the temperature of the cover above ambient but below the normal popping temperature.

  • Patent number: 4161265
Abstract: There is disclosed a powder dispenser having a support for retaining an inverted opened rigid container of powdered material, such as powdered soap or detergent. The dispenser has a funnel-like arrangement terminating in a downwardly facing opening. Positioned thereunder is a trap chamber into which an amount of the powdered material is accumulated. The trap chamber is suitably journalled whereby it may rotate through a relatively small angle and also has a downwardly extending lever to manipulate the trap chamber whereby the powdered material therein may be discharged therefrom a leaf spring is provided to urge the trap chamber to its normal position to receive the powdered material.

  • Patent number: 4158374
Abstract: A measuring dispenser for flowable material comprises a hopper and a rotatable barrel member for transferring measured quantities of the material from the hopper to a receptacle. The barrel member has a plurality of angularly spaced recesses of predetermined volumetric capacities. By rotation of the barrel member in one direction through a selected angle, selected recesses are filled from the hopper in sequence, the material being retained in the filled recesses during such rotation. By subsequent rotation of the barrel member in the opposite direction through the same selected angle and an additional predetermined angle, the filled recesses are sequentially emptied into the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4149656
Abstract: A dishwashing apparatus having a dispenser operable at a preselected time in the dishwashing cycle for dispensing a treating liquid such as a rinse additive. The dispenser is arranged so as to measure in a measuring cup a preselected quantity of additives as an incident of moving the dishwasher door between opened and closed positions and to dispense the preselected quantity at the proper time in the wash cycle. The measuring cup for the additive is pivotally mounted within the dispenser and is pivoted from a position submerged in the liquid additive when the dishwasher door is opened in the horizontal plane, and above the liquid additive level when the dishwasher door is closed in the vertical plane, to a position so as to discharge the liquid by gravity into a discharge conduit. The discharge conduit additive receiving opening is located above the level of the liquid additive at all door positions and conveys the liquid additive by gravity into the washing chamber.

  • Patent number: 4108337
Abstract: The quantitative supply apparatus of powder coloring agent can measure the powder coloring agent through a measuring groove provided on a rotary shaft and supply it directly to the raw material inlet opening of an injection moulding machine. The measuring groove on the rotary shaft can be adjustably changed properly in volume along a length direction. A container for the coloring agent is disposed on the top portion thereof and a hole in the bottom portion of the container is in contact, in a location covering the measuring groove, with the top portion of the rotary shaft. The coloring agent which has dropped from the measuring groove through the rotation of the rotary shaft is adapted to be introduced to the inlet opening of an ejector, and furthermore to the be supplied out of an exhaust side of the ejector to the inlet opening of the injection moulding machine through compressed air.

  • Patent number: 3980206
Abstract: In a dishwasher wetting agent dispenser mounted in the door of a front-loading type dishwasher, a tiltable bucket within the dispenser pours a measured amount of fluid into a charge-discharge structure from which it flows by gravity into the washing chamber of the dishwasher. The components of the dispenser are arranged so that the dispenser will not leak when the dishwasher door is in its normal positions; including a break-away position if the door is on a dishwasher which permits such a position. The dispenser provides an air lock feature which prevents overfilling of the dispenser reservoir. A mounting arrangement of the dispenser to the door assures proper orientation therebetween. Also, a translucent rod may be attached to the dispenser to indicate when the dispenser reservoir requires filling.
