Abstract: A cartridge-type dispenser has a cartridge main body with a filling space, an extrusion nozzle on the front, and a piston slidably disposed in the filling space. The piston extrudes contents of the filling space from the extrusion nozzle by applying a push-in force. The piston includes a trunk portion having an outer circumferential wall running along an inner wall of the main body with a gap therebetween, a front wall on one end of the trunk portion directly contacting the contents of the filling space, and a rear wall on the other end whereon a rod of a push-in tool applies the push-in force on the piston. On the outer circumferential wall of the trunk portion, protrusions are provided, which contact the inner circumferential wall of the main body. The output member and plunger have respective axes of movement which are off set from one another, one behind the other. The actuator is arranged in a housing and the plunger is located at a height generally above the actuator.

Abstract: A container and dispensing method for mixing and dispensing a set of ingredients. The container includes a tube having a dispensing end and a filling end, the filling end being sealed by a first plunger. The container includes a second plunger between the dispensing end and the first plunger that separate the interior into a first cavity and a second cavity, each cavity holding at least one ingredient. The second plunger includes a breakable membrane portion. A mixing apparatus is inserted through the dispensing end, pierces the membrane portion, and urges the second plunger towards the first plunger, causing the ingredients between the plungers to flow through the pierced membrane portion and combine. The mixing apparatus feature expandable flanges, and may be driven with a rotating force to mix the combined ingredients within the tube. The first plunger is then used to dispense the mixture through the dispensing end.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a grout dispensing system comprising: a suction mechanism that draws grout material into an elongated tube; a dispensing channel attached to a first end of the elongated tube; a suction handle extending through the elongated tube, where the suction handle draws grout into the tube when moved in a first direction and dispenses grout into the dispensing channel when moved in a second direction; a plurality of dispensing tips disposed below the dispensing channel; and a squeegee on one side of the dispensing channel. In one exemplary embodiment, the suction mechanism includes a suction cup at one end of the suction handle, where said suction cup is within said elongated tube; a suction opening at a lower end of the elongated tube; and a suction tube extending from the suction opening. The distal end of suction tube lies in a deposit of grout.

Abstract: Pistons for use in a dispensing cartridge, as well as cartridge systems including such pistons. The piston may include a body having a generally cylindrical configuration with a sidewall and a sealing lip extending outwardly from the sidewall. The sealing lip has a first portion dimensioned to have a first flexibility, a second portion dimensioned to have a second flexibility greater than the first flexibility, a sealing edge terminating the second portion, and a sealing bead positioned between the first portion and the sealing edge of the second portion, and the second portion configured to deflect relative to the first portion such that the sealing edge and the sealing bead have a contacting relationship with an inner wall of the cartridge when the piston is inserted into the cartridge. The sealing edge and sealing bead cooperate to prevent leakage during storage and to prevent blow-by during use.

Abstract: A material dispensing pump includes a drip prevention system and method so as to avoid undesired dripping of the dispensed fluid. In one example, the fluid path is sealed. Positive pressure is applied to the fluid during a dispensing operation to present the fluid to the auger-style pump at a desired rate. Between dispensing operations, or when dispensing is completed, the fluid is placed in suspension, for example by applying a negative pressure, thereby preventing the fluid from being inadvertently released at the dispense tip. In addition, following a dispensing operation, the pump dispensing controller can be programmed to reverse the rotation of the feed screw, in order to draw the material in a reverse direction and to further suspend the fluid.
