  • Patent number: 11014718
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a plastic valve and method for forming a plastic valve comprising an exterior base layer, an interior bubble layer and an exterior channel layer, wherein a flow channel is formed between the bubble layer and the channel layer. In a first aspect of the disclosure, a rigid or semi-rigid spherical ball travels between first and second ends of a channel molded into the bubble layer, thereby moving between a closed configuration and an open configuration. In a second aspect of the disclosure, a bubble is formed between the bubble layer and the base layer of plastic film, and includes a static planar footprint and a pre-tension height. The channel layer is applied to the bubble layer under tension to form a channel. Applying the channel layer decreases a height of the bubble from the pre-tension height to a post-tension height and increases an internal pressure of the bubble.

Abstract: A pump dispenser is intended for oral administration of medicines. A pump receives fluid product through a valved inlet from a container, preferably of the airless type with a follower piston. The dispenser may be a movable-nozzle or fixed-nozzle dispenser. The discharge outlet of the dispenser has a stub nozzle incorporating a closure valve. A spring urges the closure valve forward to close a discharge opening of the stub nozzle. The nozzle attachment is shaped for oral dosing and has an internal rearwardly-projecting actuating structure which, when the nozzle attachment is coupled onto the stub nozzle, pushes the closure valve open. When the nozzle attachment is removed the spring closes the outlet again. Child-resistant features are described for fitting the nozzle attachment to the stub nozzle.

Abstract: By means of a fluid material discharge device of simple construction, a technique for fluid material discharge is provided which has few or no inadequate discharge, high productivity, and which enables easy modification and adjustment of the amount of fluid material discharge. The fluid material discharge device comprises a nozzle for discharge of fluid material and a filament-shape member inserted into the nozzle for use. The filament-shape member has a tip portion AA, which is exposed outside of the nozzle when no pressure is exerted on the tip of the filament-shape member, a portion BB which can be inserted into the nozzle, and a portion CC, on the side of the filament-shape member opposite the tip portion AA, and being bent from the portion BB. The spring structure of the filament-shape member is utilized to discharge fluid material.

Abstract: The non-vented automatic dispensing cap is generally formed of a body and a retainer cap. The body is threadably secured to a squeezable tube or container. The retainer cap is attached to the body. A pressure chamber is formed between the body and retainer cap. A piston may also form a wall of the pressure chamber. A coil spring or resilient flange holds a valve seated within a dispensing hole extending through the cap. When the tube is squeezed, the product is forced into the pressure chamber expanding the pressure chamber and unseating the valve, thereby allowing product to exit the dispensing opening. Upright, inverted, vented and unvented versions are disclosed.
