  • Patent number: 9604766
Abstract: A dispensing cap sealingly mountable within the throat of a beverage container has an open-bottomed flow tube connected to a surrounding skirt by a resilient diaphragm, forming a reservoir surrounding the flow tube. A membrane attached to the periphery of the skirt seals off the bottom of the reservoir. The lower end of the flow tube extends into the reservoir and is adapted for piercing the membrane. A downward force applied to the flow tube will resiliently deform the diaphragm, causing the lower end of the flow tube to pierce the membrane, thus allowing the contents of the reservoir to flow into the container. The flow tube extends above the diaphragm and terminates in a flow assembly operable between a closed position and a “consume” position in which the contents of the container can flow through the flow tube and out an opening in the cap sleeve.

  • Patent number: 9132950
Abstract: A dispensing capsule has an upper cap having a concave depression and a lower cap. The lower cap defines an internal chamber adapted to contain a first ingredient and has an upper flexible seal, a lower sealing member, and a plunger disposed in the internal chamber, whereby the plunger is engaged with the upper flexible seal. The flexible seal may be a blast or flexible bellow. The upper cap is threadingly engaged with the lower cap and lower cap adapted to threadingly engage a container, such as a bottle, IV bag, or the like. Abstract: A fluid cartridge for storing and dispensing first and second fluids includes a first tubular cartridge wall and a second tubular cartridge wall in side-by-side relation. First and second pistons are coupled for movement by a coupling portion and are respectively disposed within the first and second tubular cartridge walls to define first and second side-by-side fluid chambers. A fixed wall is disposed between the first and second fluid chambers. A force is applied to the first piston along the first central longitudinal axis of the first tubular cartridge wall and moves both the first and second pistons along and within the first and second fluid chambers as the coupling portion between the first and second pistons travels within an opening in the fixed wall. The opening may be a preformed slot or may be formed by a cutting element attached with the pistons as the pistons move during the dispensing operation.

Abstract: The self-opening closure includes a pouring spout (10), which can be assembled leak-proof on a combipack or a container spout sealed with foil material, twist cap (9) and a self-opening sleeve (1) arranged inside the pouring spout, which can be made to rotate by the twist cap. The self-opening sleeve forms on its upper edge an indentation (4), which becomes smaller towards the bottom edge (6) and tapers off into the same. There are guiding means present on the outer side of the self-opening sleeve and on the inner side of the pouring spout so that the self-opening sleeve is guided downwards by rotation on the pouring spout. The indentation (4) lies partially inside the pouring spout and partially below the same after unscrewing of the cover cap and forms an air inlet channel, which results in a steady outpour of the liquid content of a combipack.

  • Patent number: 8443970
Abstract: A dispensing capsule has a diaphragm button, stake and frangible membrane for a system for selectively dispersing the contents of a cup into an attached bottle. A frangible membraned cup has a diaphragm button operably attached to a stake with the stake's sharp point at one end and the diaphragm button on the opposing end. A cavity is disposed in the cup for consumable product defined by side walls and a base plate. Preloaded ingredients contained within the hermetically sealed cup are discharged from the dispensing capsule into a bottle by simply depressing a button disposed on the diaphragm of the cup, thereby actuating the stake to thrust forward and apply concentrated pressure abaxially to the frangible membrane. This concentrated pressure pierces substantially the center of the frangible membrane, causing it to rupture and progressively opening it.

  • Patent number: 8136701
Abstract: A dispenser for viscous liquids effectuates sequential operations by hydrostatic pressure on an assembly of two pistons separated from each other in a cylinder by a separation spring. When the piston assembly is embedded in material to be dispensed, the space between the pistons fills with material to be dispensed. Pressuring the reservoir by squeezing it or by the addition of pressurized gas, forces the piston assembly down the cylinder at the end of which is an opening from which material in the piston assembly can escape. One of the pistons moves toward the other end by pressure from the reservoir, causing material in the piston assembly to be dispensed. The volume inside the piston assembly defines and limits the volume of material that can be dispensed.
