  • Patent number: 11913202
Abstract: A therapeutic substance dispensing shower head system has a shower head and a therapeutic substance carrying cartridge that is removably inserted into the shower head to diffuse the therapeutic substance into the water flowing through the shower head. The cartridge is configured for single hand manipulation and is inserted into a cartridge socket that is provided in the face of the shower head to make operation simple. The diffusion rate of the substance into the water flow is variably controlled by turning the cartridge while it is inserted in the cartridge socket. The diffusion is not predicated on aspiration or venturi concepts and thus is not sensitive to different water pressures and flow rates.

  • Patent number: 8967430
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tap assembly for dispensing fluids from a flexible film bag such as a “bag-in-box”. Known taps associated with such flexible bags do not efficiently dispense fluid from a bag which is partially collapsed and/or can damage the opposite wall of the partially collapsed bag. The tap assembly includes a body with a bore, an actuation member to cover at least a portion of the bore and a piercer which is configured to pivot within the bore and pierce and cut a sterility membrane positioned over an open end of the bore upon movement of the actuation member by a user. The piercer comprises a curved surface which functions to position the piercer away from the plane of the adjacent bag wall after initial piercing.

Abstract: A fillable closure is used to initiate emptying of a separately fillable capsule molded into this closure. The capsule is made oxygen-impermeable on the inside or outside with a vapor-deposited layer of silicon dioxide or metal. The volume of the capsule can be reduced through pressurization from the top, through deformation of its side walls, for cutting or rupturing a sealing foil. The capsule has an asymmetric push button with a pusher surface, a deformable front and side wall and a stable rear wall. The upper end of the rear wall forms a stationary edge, on which the pusher surface can be pivoted downward through deformation of the front and side wall. On the bottom of the pusher surface, a triangle-shaped blade is formed, which ends in a tip, and its triangle edge forming a cutting edge for piercing and cutting the sealing foil on the bottom of the capsule.

Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to a multi-chamber container and related methods for storing and mixing liquids and associated methods of use. The multi-chamber container includes a first chamber configured to contain a first liquid composition. The multi-chamber container also includes a second chamber configured to contain a second liquid composition. The multi-chamber container further includes a barrier operable to separate the first chamber and the second chamber. Additionally, the multi-chamber container includes a compliant mechanism movable between a first position and a second position and a plunger movable with the compliant mechanism to alter or remove the barrier. In the first position, the barrier is operable to maintain the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition separate from one another. In the second position, the plunger is operable to alter or remove the barrier to facilitate contact of the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition.

Abstract: The insulated bottle containment system supports a disposable water or sports drink bottle under a hard plastic ring below the cap. Supporting the bottle by this ring allows the invention to port the top of the disposable bottle with a puncture tube that is angled in a way that, while puncturing the top, it does not introduce a piece of the cap into the drink. At the top of the containment system is a hinged or pivoted top that introduces the puncture tube into the top and at its closed position locks into place. Through the puncture tube, the drink is allowed to flow to the drink port, where the consumer can drink their beverage. The top is adaptable to various different neck sizes. The insulated container is sized to accommodate a range of bottles.
