Abstract: A holster for carrying a handgun having a movable welt which reduces the likelihood that the handgun will be the subject of either an accidental or intentional dislodgment. The movable welt rotates about 10° to 15°, and as it rotates, the handgun is moved from a position where its hammer region is secured by a fixed strap and the weapon may not be removed to a position where the strap is no longer an issue and the weapon may be removed.

Abstract: A security holster for use with a handgun. A locking device secures engages a feature of the handgun, and retains it in the holster until released by the user. The security holster provides for one handed insertion and withdrawal of a handgun, and prevents unauthorized removal of the handgun. An audible indication of insertion and locking is provided by the locking mechanism.

A second mechanical blocking element is also provided adjacent the rear of the trigger guard that is biased into a first position to prevent rearward movement of the gun and a second position that allows for rearward movement of a gun when the second blocking element is moved by pressure on a thumb or finger ledge. A third mechanical blocking element is provided to prevent motion of a handgun when holstered in a manner to cause movement of the second blocking element from the first position.

Abstract: A locking action holster has a hip plate (2) and at least one adjustable mount (1). A shroud (45) may be secured to the adjustable mount (1) to form a strapless shoulder holster. The adjustable mount (1) may be reconfigured on the hip plate (2) to extend downwardly. A lower mount (30) is then connected with the adjustable mount (1) to form a rotary hinge (32). The shroud (45) may be secured to the lower mount (30), with strap (47) securing the lower mount (30) to a wearer's leg, thus forming a thigh holster.

Abstract: A thigh rig includes a carrier and a quick-attach arrangement. The carrier includes a pad body, having a front side and a rear side, for detachably attaching on a user's body and a pouch panel overlappedly provided on the front side of the pad body to define a storage compartment, for receiving a pistol-like weapon therein, between the pad body and the pouch panel. The storage compartment has a top opening having a holding portion formed by a top edge of the pouch panel. The quick-attach arrangement includes a pair of reinforcing elements spacedly provided at the top opening of the storage compartment for selectively adjusting a width of the holding portion of the top opening, so as to securely hold a wrist of the weapon in the storage compartment in position.

Abstract: A holster security device comprising a latching mechanism which is attached to a holster on a side portion thereof so as to form an integral unit. The device comprises a finger-operated tab extending beyond the housing of the security device and a latch hook which engages a male fastener mounted on a holster safety strap. When the male fastener engages its female counterpart and is aligned with the security device, the strap acts to restrain a firearm. A standard lock and key system is used to provide a high-level of security by locking the moving portions of the safety device and preventing unauthorized removal or theft of a firearm. Another feature of the invention is a trigger safety lock operable in conjunction with a latching mechanism while the firearm is seated in the holster. Optionally, the operation of the safety device parts can be mechanically, electrically, or electronically assisted.

Abstract: An improved holster and mounting bracket assembly made adaptable for use by law enforcement personnel as well as other professionals whom are required to wear for sustained periods of time a handgun, particularly those of the full size service type. The holster generally comprises a handgun pouch having front and back walls substantially symmetrical and parallel to one another, with the walls being held together by a barrel pad and a trigger guard support, a pair of extending straps each being fitted with a snap fastening button to secure the handgun within the handgun pouch, and a push/pull loop integrally made part of the handgun pouch to permit adjustment of the holster without resorting to increased handling of components comprising the handgun.

The belt loop assembly has a tapered belt loop opening and a platform upon which the belt rests. The taper aids in fixedly positioning the assembly along the belt while the platform protects the belt from wear due to belt positioning screws commonly found in belt loop assemblies.

Abstract: A firearm locking mechanism for handguns primarily comprising a locking assembly with first and second ends, said first end having first and second arms bifurcated parallel and spaced apart to receive a handgun. The locking assembly further has an elongated member, which serves as latching means to remove the firearm from the locking assembly. Interacting with the elongated member is a locking system controlled by a key, giving the authorized user the ability to set the firearm locking assembly in a “locked” or “unlocked” mode. The firearm locking assembly prevents the removal of the handgun when the trigger guard is obstructed within the first and second arms. The present invention is primarily utilized with firearms such as pistols and revolvers.

Abstract: The present invention provides a pistol protective holster with one-way safety means mainly comprising of a protective holster main sandwich with several clamping, a pair of clamping and receiving members with triangular and trapezoidal cut planes, two strip-shaped spring leaves, and a frame protecting cover, furthermore, an expanding member formed at the fold of the protective holster main sandwich; since a pair of clamping and receiving members with triangular and trapezoidal structures positions the pistol body at the sectional space where the expanding member presses against the protective holster main sandwich with the assistance of the tightly forcing resilience from the middle of two spring leaves, thereby the method of drawing the pistol from the inside of the protective holster features a safety efficacy of only allowing the removing of the pistol by pressing against one-way toward the inner side of the human body.

Abstract: A movable blocking member is pivotally mounted to the holster and movable between a first position where ratable motion of the hood is blocked and a second position where rotatable motion of the hood is allowed. The hood is rotated to allow a handgun to be removed from a holster. The hood must be depressed downwardly prior to rotation. In one aspect of the block the blocking member prevents rotation of the hood after downward motion of the strap. Alternate embodiments of the block provide a blocking member positionable to prevent the initial downward motion of the hood. Detents and detent recesses are provided to secure the blocking member in a desired position.

Abstract: A safety holster for a firearm, including two pivotally mounted retaining members that cooperate to engage the trigger guard of the firearm and prevent withdrawal of the firearm from the holster by anyone other than an authorized user of the firearm. The holster includes a fingerprint sensor for scanning fingerprint information of a perspective user of the firearm, and a processor for comparing the scanned fingerprint information with stored fingerprint information of an authorized user and releasing the retaining member only if the scanned fingerprint information matches that of the authorized user.

Abstract: Disclosed is a retaining device for lockingly receiving a firearm wherein the firearm has a barrel, barrel sight, grip, hammer and trigger guard. The retaining device comprises a holster having a closed forward portion and an open rearward portion. A guide channel is positioned within the holster for accepting the barrel and trigger guard of the firearm. A fingerprint identification means has a fingerprint input device positioned upon the external surface of the holster at an intermediate extent. Further provided is a comparison means for comparing an inputted fingerprint with a stored fingerprint image, and a signal generating means for generating a first signal when an inputted fingerprint matches a stored fingerprint and a second signal when an inputted fingerprint fails to match a stored fingerprint. The signal generating means is in electrical communication with and controls a firearm retaining means.

Abstract: A universal handgun carrying system, more commonly known as a holster, is provided for waist belt support, for positioning and carrying both semi-automatic and revolver type handguns. Inside and outside sheet-like panel members composed of leather or other suitable material are joined only at the front, so as to provide a universal holster assembly having an open rear portion that is closed by the waist belt of the user. Each of the inner and outer panels defines a body section having a pair of belt slots, with the front belt slots of both panels in registry and with the rear belt slots offset from one another. Projections, being preferably integral with the body sections, extend upwardly from the inner and outer panels and are provided with fastening devices such as snaps. One of the projections defines a retention strap and is adapted to be bent over the upper portion of a handgun to secure the handgun within the holster.

Abstract: A holstering device is made for an elongate hand weapon or is made as a standard holstering device for holstering any one of a number of different types of elongate hand weapons. Such holstering device extends along opposite first and second sides of any of these hand weapons and straddles that hand weapon between such opposite first and second sides when that hand weapon is holstered. The holstering device also includes a track structure having in that holstering device a first track at the mentioned first side and a second track at the mentioned second side. Each of such elongate hand weapons is equipped with an adapter having first and second slides complementary with the first and second tracks of the track structure for holstering the adapter in that track structure while holstering any of the elongate hand weapon in that holstering device.

Abstract: A leg holster for a firearm has a holster plate engaged on a horizontal retaining belt. A firearm locking assembly mounting site is defined in a central retaining portion of the holster plate and at least one vertical retaining belt is secured to the horizontal retaining belt adjacent an inboard side of the holster plate. Hook and loop closures may be utilized to secure the vertical retaining belt onto the inboard side of the holster plate. A shoulder holster is also disclosed having a holster plate engaged at an upper end of the plate to a shoulder strap and at a lower end of the plate to a vertical control strap. The shoulder strap is adapted to engage a shoulder of a wearer. The vertical control strap is engageable with a waist belt of the wearer at an end of the vertical control strap opposite the holster plate.

Abstract: Holstering systems for hand weapons comprise a track structure provided as a holster for such hand weapons. Each hand weapon may be provided with an adapter complementary with the track structure. The holster may be a standard holster for different types of elongate hand weapons that may have adapters interfacing with such standard holster. Such holsters may have an accommodation for accessories. Security holsters prevent accidental and unauthorized removal of weapons from holsters, such as with the aid of detents, sensors of a hand of a wearer, or other detent deactivators.

Abstract: A handgun holster with an auxiliary or supplementary latching device is disclosed. The holster includes a body which defines a pouch for holding a handgun and includes a strap which extends over or around a portion of the handgun to hold it in place in the holster when the free end of the retention strap is secured to the holster as by a snap fastener. In the preferred embodiment the holster includes a thumbreak which is used to allow the wearer to separate the snap fastener by downward movement of the wearer's thumb to separate the snap fastener parts and allow the handgun to be withdrawn. A supplementary latching device is present which is movable from a latching to an unlatching position. Several different embodiments of the invention are illustrated including a molded plastic latch which encircles a holster thumbreak and is slidable longitudinally along the thumbreak.

A spring may be mounted between the engaging member and a support body to which the engaging member is pivotably mounted. Positive locking devices are provided for the engaging member in some of the embodiments with some being releasable by a finger of a wearer or by movement of the handgun in a predetermined direction.

Abstract: An adjustable holster for accommodating a variety of handguns of differing sizes and shapes includes a rigid front spine member and two substantially rigid spine members and two sidewalls. At least one of the sidewalls is constructed of flexible interior, exterior, and core layers wherein the core layer is made of resiliently deformable material that will not stretch. An adjacent member mounted between the rear spine members carries a movable engaging element that contacts a handgun and forces it forwardly against the front of the holster. An upper adjustment screw mounted between the rear spine members is used to pull the spine members and sidewalls together to adjust the draw of the handgun. A lower adjustment screw mounted between the rear spine members is used to pull the rear spine members and sidewalls together to narrow the lower opening of the holster for different size guns.

The holder comprises an elongated elastic band having loop and hook securing members attached at each end for adjustable attachment thereof about said wearers torso. At least one pistol holster is formed on one side of the band in the vicinity of an end thereof. The pistol holster is positioned diagonally of the band for easy access. A non-elastic strap, which is connectable with the holster, is provided for securing a weapon therein. A plurality of multi-compartment pockets are formed with the band. The compartments are selectively sized to receive ammunition magazines, pocket knives, keys, money cartridges, identification, etc.

Abstract: A firearm carrier for safely transporting firearms. The carrier transversely secures the firearm to a user's body while preventing accidental discharges of the firearm. The firearm carrier is particularly well suited for use on an ATV. The firearm carrier safely, temporarily attaches the firearm to the user's waist in a safe, stable transport configuration. The firearm carrier may also be used as a temporary shoulder sling. The firearm carrier comprises an elongated, adjustable belt that fits around the waist of the user. A quick release buckle system facilitates belt removal. A pair of spaced apart straps project downwardly from the belt. Preferably, the straps project downwardly along the front of the user's legs. Each strap extends to a terminal end. An intermediary leg projects from each strap. Preferably, the straps are appropriately covered by a hook and pile fasteners. The straps encircle the gun during deployment, forming a pair of retention loops that secure the gun to the user's waist.

Abstract: A universal holster is designed to accommodate a number of different brands, sizes, and lengths of semi automatic handguns and includes a body formed of a layer or double layer of suitable material such as leather formed to define a pocket. Extensions along edges of the body form straps of unequal length with a snap fastener forming a channel the trigger guard of a handgun. One portion of the snap fastener is spaced a short distance from the end of the shorter strap forming a projection which may be contacted by the forefinger of the wearer to open the snap fastener to draw the handgun from the holster. Two additional extensions or bosses are positioned around a spacer near the front of the body. A pair of extensions at the opposite end of the body to define a portion of a pocket around the handgun hammer end of the handgun and to secure a pair of short straps carrying fastening devices for attachment to a shoulder strap.

Abstract: A holster is disclosed employing a formed composite of fabric-foam and fabric in which the outer face is formed to match the contour of a hand gun to carried in the holster while the inner face is generally flat. A belt loop assembly is secured to the inner face including a generally "Y" shape with an opening between the arms of the "Y". Hook or pile fastener fabric is located within the belt loop assembly. A thumb break or strap includes an end which extends through the opening into the belt loop and is held in place by contact with the hook and pile fastener. The thumb break is angularly adjustable within the belt loop and securable at various angles by the hook and pile fastener. The belt loop assembly, most importantly defines a belt loop and the thumb break and the hook and pile fastener cooperate to restrict the size of the belt loop and provide restriction against unwanted movement of the holster on a belt.

They include a protrusion with a trigger guard recess and a trigger guard retainer which is cantilevered from the outside of the body into the trigger guard at a compound angle to hold the handgun in the holster. The frame of the handgun extends over an elongated surface at the top of the body. The handgun is, in actuality supported on a cradle at the muzzle region and on the lower side of the trigger guard. A muzzle tensioner in the form of an inverted J is adjustable secured to the body in the muzzle region. A belt loop assembly including mating partial spherical surfaces secures the body for universal spherical angular adjustment. Further adjustments include the compressive force on the trigger guard retainer. All of the adjustments may be made with the holster in place on the shooter's gun belt.

Abstract: A security system including an electronic alarm signal transmitting circuit is mounted with a holster or other weapons carrier or storage container. The system includes a switch beneath a strap or cover on the holster. The switch senses when an attempt is made to open the holster strap for access to the weapon, and activates the alarm circuit. Alarms can be sent to a home alarm system, central monitor station or other monitor.

Abstract: A hand gun is completely concealed within a gun carrying pack. The pack is mounted on a wearer by a belt around the wearer's waist. The pack has a pouch, concealed behind an additional belt strap and clip, for carrying a hand gun. The pouch has front and rear walls. The front wall is permanently attached to the rear wall at the bottom and on one side, but releasably attached by two zippers located on a zipper track at the top and on the other side. The pouch completely conceals a hand gun carried within the pouch. The additional belt strap and clip are connected across the zipper track at the top corner between the releasably attached top and side. By unclipping the additional belt strap and clip, a wearer can pull open the zippers to open the pouch to access the hand gun carried within.

A flexible strap has one end attached to the reverse surface of the holster and a second end extendable over at least the hammer portion of the handgun to the outer surface. A two-member locking device has a first, fixed member attached to the outer surface of the holster and a second, releasable member attached to the second end of the strap. The releasable member comprises at least two spaced cross-pieces integrally formed within a slotted area of the releasable member and the strap is looped over and around the cross-pieces so that the releasable member is adjustably coupled to the strap.

Abstract: An unobtrusive carrier for self-protective devices is disclosed. Such a carrier has a body portion to which is connected a carrying strap. The body portion has a special secret compartment which is solely accessible by a spring-biased opening at one end of the body portion. The spring-biased opening comprises a frame assembly having two frame members pivotally connected to each other such that they can alternately be held in closed position against the spring-biasing or snapped to open position by the spring arms when a catch is released. A holster is provided within the secret compartment.

Abstract: An automatic pistol holster includes a hollow holster body having an inner wall and an outer wall defining a lower muzzle end and an upper access opening into which, and from which, the automatic pistol may be inserted and removed, respectively, with the muzzle end of the pistol disposed adjacent the lower muzzle end and the butt end of the pistol disposed adjacent the upper access opening when the pistol is fully inserted in the holster body. At least two pair of thumb straps are provided for releasable securing the pistol in the holster. Abstract: Reference numeral 10 generally indicates a firearm holding device. The holster 10 includes a principal support member 11 which comprises an elongate bar-like body 12 having an upper end 14 and a lower end 16. The upper end 14 defines a receiving formation 18 defined by laterally spaced sidewalls 18.1 and 18.2, an end wall 18.3 and a bottom wall 18.4 for releasably receiving a portion of a trigger guard 20 of a handgun 22. A resiliently deformable pawl 42 comprising a resiliently deformable lever 43 having a catch 44 at one end is provided in a recess 46 in the outer side 26 of the broader upper end 14 of the body 12. In the normal rest condition of the pawl 42 the catch 44 projects into the cavity 18. As the trigger guard 20 is pushed downwardly it engages with the catch 44 and displaces the pawl 42 outwardly to its tensed condition. After the trigger guard 20 has slid over the catch 44, the pawl 42 snaps back into position thereby retaining the handgun 22 in position in the holster 10.

Abstract: To be used preferably in combination with a weapon holster, a safety snap assembly including a first snap member disposed on a first segment of the holster, a second snap member disposed on a second, strap segment of the holster such that the first and second snap members will be matingly and releasably engaged with one another, disengagement being achieved by pushing an exposed actuator end extending from an exterior of a free distal end of the second segment towards the first and second segments.
