  • Patent number: 5322200
Abstract: A metallic storage holster and cable for locking a handgun in place and preventing access to the handgun by unauthorized persons. The cable is welded onto a one side of the storage holster. The non-welded cable end is formed into a loop. The loop is then secured over a "U" latch welded onto the other side of the storage holster. The latch is large enough to allow a lock to be inserted through the eye of the latch once the looped cable end has been fitted. Once the lock is in place, access to the handgun is restricted to the individual able to open the lock. A metallic plate is welded onto one side of the storage holster and holes are cut through both sides of the storage holster to allow lag bolts to be inserted and countersunk though the side with the plate attached thereto. The lag bolts, once in place, are used to mount the storage holster. Once a handgun is locked in place access to the lag bolts from the other side of the storage holster is blocked.

  • Patent number: 5294031
Abstract: A concealed gun holster, primarily to be worn by off duty law enforcement personnel, is modeled after the popular sports fanny packs. The modified pack, held in place with an integral belt, is designed to conceal a hand gun holster for either left or right hand use. A snap release secures the weapon snugly in the holster, yet releases with the same feel and pressure as commonly used police holster releases. A hidden pocket, interior to the pack, may be used to hold a clip of ammunition. The integral belt used to wear the pack comprises zippered pockets which are suitable for storing ammunition, hand cuffs, or other equipment.

  • Patent number: 5236113
Abstract: A handgun holster having security straps releasably attached by a fastener system including hook-and-loop fastener material, with a protective cover overlying a portion of the mated hook-and-loop fastener material located on the holster. The protective cover is constructed of a flexible sheet-like material and helps to define a snug tube or pocket for receiving a portion of a security strap bearing the mating portion of the hook-and-loop fastener material thereon. The cover holds the two portions of the fastener material together in mating confrontation and covers an end of the strap to prevent it from easily being separated from the holster. Alternatively, a loop-carrying portion of fastener material is attached to a holster with the loops facing toward the body of the holster and a strap having the hook-carrying portion of the fastener is placed between the body of the holster and the loop-carrying fastener material.

  • Patent number: 5033663
Abstract: A holster which is designed to carry securely a number of different sizes of handguns with equal proper fit. The holster is preferably formed of a composite fabric-foam-fabric material, or in certain cases, of leather. The holster sides are secured together partially in the region adjacent to the underside of the frame near the trigger guard. A separate welt member is securable between the two sides of the holster and presents to the frame in the region of the trigger guard, a smooth conforming surface which urges the handgun into a snug fit within the holster. • Patent number: 4809895
Abstract: An improved holster for a handgun, the holster generally of the type having a holster hanger adapted to interengage with, and be supported by, the user's waistband or belt. The improvement is generally directed to increasing the length and width of the slot between the holster body and hanger for receiving the skirt portion of a jacket, coat, shirt or the like. This feature enhances ready access to the handgun, while also reducing "bunching" of the skirt in otherwise shorter and narrower slots found in conventional holsters. Further benefits of this invention are related to providing a smooth, uninterrupted surface for both surfaces of the holster hanger and body, reducing clothing and handgun wear. These improvements result from a novel structure and arrangements for interconnecting the holster hanger to the inner side of the holster body itself.

  • Patent number: 4577787
Abstract: A holster made of two matching pieces of material joined together to form a double-ended gun pocket, shaped to fit a particular gun and contain substantial portions of it. The holster has a belt loop on each face of the gun pocket and a belt slot through both faces outside of the trigger guard area, which position the gun and holster on a belt at an acute angle from the vertical, such that a forward-tilt and a cross-draw slant mode of carry are both made possible by inverting the holster and thus reversing the angle. Reversing the holster laterally changes it from right-handed to left-handed.

  • Patent number: 4485947
Abstract: A universal-type protective holster capable of receiving snugly handguns of different sizes falling within a defined range of sizes. The holster is formed with a sandwich-like construction, including an inner liner web in the form of a soft-surfaced fabric for protecting a received handgun against marring, an intermediate memory web in the form of an elastomer which provides the holster with contracted-shape memory enabling it to receive handguns of different sizes easily, and an outer shell web in the form of a relatively stiff, tear-and-abrasion-resistant fabric.

  • Patent number: 4480776
Abstract: A nylon fabric holster for hand guns having strap-like tabs secured together by hook and loop fasteners for holding the hand gun in the holster. The tabs may be separated by running the thumb between the hook and loop fasteners. However, the hammer spur associated with the hand gun is pressed against the inner surfaces of the tabs upon forcible withdrawal of the hand gun from the holster to prevent the tabs from separating. The tab construction thus prevents the hand gun from being forcibly removed from the holster when the tabs are secured together.

  • Patent number: 4471894
Abstract: On certain handguns, the firing pin protrudes through the rear of the weapon when the weapon is cocked, as an indication of the condition of the weapon. In the uncocked condition, the weapon is held in a holster by the retaining strap which has a conventional female snap which mates with a male snap mounted on the weapon around the firing pin extension orfice. Grasping the weapon, in the holster, and cocking the weapon by depressing the squeeze cocker, automatically cocks the weapon causing the firing pin to extend rearward, popping off the female snap and releasing the weapon to be withdrawn from the holster.

  • Patent number: 4342410
Abstract: A combination hand gun holster and belt is provided. The combination comprises a holster having inner and outer side panels which assist in forming a tapering configuration for conformably receiving a hand gun. The holster has an open end for insertion and withdrawal therethrough of the gun. The belt is attached to the inner side panel of the holster and suspends the holster on one side of the waist of a person. A retaining member is provided having first and second ends. The member is attached at the first end to the outer side panel of the open end of the holster. A means is provided for detachably mounting the second end of the retaining member to the belt.
