  • Patent number: 5558259
Abstract: A golf bag with a dual carrying strap assembly. In one embodiment, the strap assembly includes a first strap which is attached to the golf bag and interfaces with the golf bag at first and second longitudinally displaced locations. The strap assembly also includes a separate second strap which is also attached to the golf bag and which one end thereof interfaces with the golf bag at the second location and which its other end either interfaces with the golf bag at this same second location or at an intermediate location, such as at the carrying handle of the golf bag. Nonetheless, the two separate straps form two loops such that the golf bag may be supported on both of the golfer's shoulders.

  • Patent number: 5553759
Abstract: A backpack frame is molded integrally from composite fiber and resin material to provide a light yet strong frame. The frame includes top and bottom members and a pair of side members. A pair of vertical ribs extend between the top and bottom members, and a plurality of horizontal members extend between the side members. The frame has torsional flexibility about a longitudinal axis which is generally parallel to the side members. Each of the ribs has a generally kidney-shaped cross section which is provided by a groove in the rib. A sack is slidably attached to the frame by elongated beaded attaching members which are sewn to the sack. Each bead is slidably inserted into a key-hole shaped channel in one of the side members. A suspension system includes shoulder straps, a waist belt, and a back pad. Each part of the suspension is formed from closed cell foam which is compression molded to form air-circulating grooves. One or both sides of the foam has a flame laminated skin.

  • Patent number: 5467907
Abstract: The invention is a hunter's personal safety game pack and method of making it. The game pack is especially designed for the wild turkey, with a bloodproof bottom pouch, a No-See-Um mesh drawstring bag top, and a shoulder harness. The wild turkey is a large bulky bird, weighing approximately 10 kilograms. It is cumbersome and messy, a burden to carry without a game pack. Carrying a wild turkey using one hand in the traditional over-shoulder position puts the hunter in a very dangerous situation. Carrying his gun with one hand is not recommended for safe gun handling; the exposed turkey on his back invites other hunters to shoot at the turkey and possibly shoot the otherwise successful turkey hunter in the back or head. Perhaps even more important, Lyme ticks may be transferred from turkey to hunter, with risk of the disabling and sometimes fatal Lyme disease. The taken turkey must cool quickly to avoid spoilage. The No-See-Um mesh top permits cooling ventilation without permitting any ticks to pass.
