  • Patent number: 5431317
Abstract: According to the invention a multimode traveling bag is provided which can be carried as a hand carrying bag, a back pack, shoulder bag or over the head bag. The invention provides these multimode operations while limiting the number of handles and straps. Preferably a handle and strap are provided which are neatly positioned along the body of the bag when not in use. The traveling bag desirably has a single strap affixed at each end of the strap to the left and right side of the traveling bag. The strap should be of sufficient length so that the attached strap can be placed over the head of the user when the user desires to carry the bag over his head and support the bag by the opposite shoulder.

  • Patent number: 5350096
Abstract: A ski carrying device enables a skier to carry his or her skis and ski poles on the skier's back thereby freeing the skier's hand. The ski carrying device includes an upper cover and a lower cover. The skier wraps the upper and lower covers around the toe bindings and the heel bindings of the skis, respectively, with the skis positioned in a bottom-to-bottom arrangement. Each cover includes a strap which the skier wraps around the ski poles to hold the ski poles against the skis. The carrying device further includes a pair of shoulder straps, each strap connected to and extended between the upper cover and the lower cover. The skier places the straps over his or her shoulders to support the skis on the skier's back. In this position, the skier easily carries the skies and poles without using his or her hands. Furthermore, the skis worn on the skier's back are less likely to strike other persons or objects.

In one form of the invention an ambulatory vest includes a back panel and a pair of front panels, the supporting apparatus including a pole and a device for attaching the pole to the vest and device for coupling the bottle of the intravenous system to the pole.

  • Patent number: 4438764
Abstract: The oxygen caddy is a carrier for an oxygen tank of the type used by emergency medical personnel. It includes a fabric case which covers a rigid, protective, supporting frame in which the oxygen tank is held. The case includes pockets in which oxygen delivery means may be stored for use. The oxygen delivery means are attached to the oxygen tank via hoses which extend into the pockets through openings in the case. A shoulder strap is provided in order to allow emergency personnel to carry the oxygen carrier without using his hand, which is then free to carry other equipment.

  • Patent number: 4390116
Abstract: A suspender assembly for supporting a tool bag disposed about the waist includes a pair of strap members, each draped over one of the shoulders. The front portions of the strap members extend generally vertically and are secured to the front portions of the tool bag with adjustable buckles. A cross-strap extends between the front portions of the strap members and is secured therebetween with a quick release buckle. The rear portions of the strap members converge and extend through a double ring assembly, the straps passing through the portion of a first ring which extends through the aperture of a second ring. The double ring assembly is adjustably and slidably disposed along the strap members, and the first ring may be used to hang the toolbag when not in use.

  • Patent number: 4280645
Abstract: A harness for lifting heavy and bulky objects is the subject of this invention. The device provides for better lifting ability through superior load distribution and also provides for greater protection for the hands and arms of the person doing the lifting. A yoke type shoulder harness substantially spans the distance between the shoulders of the person wearing it while also circumscribing the neck area. Straps depend from the shoulder harness and are coupled with a rigid L-shaped support. The vertical leg of the L-shaped support substantially spans the distance between the hand and the elbow. The horizontal leg of the L-shaped support presents an enclosure having an opening for receiving at least a portion of the hand. A highly frictional covering on the upper surface of the horizontal leg holds objects in place. The strap means which couples the L-shaped supports with the shoulder harness includes buckle means for adjusting the effective length of the device.
