Abstract: An apparel protecting device for isolating a pocket from a tool attached to the pocket includes a panel. A fold is positioned in the panel and defines a first section of the panel, a second section of the panel, and a slot that is positioned between the first section and the second section. The second section is configured to be inserted into a pocket of an article of clothing to position the first section on an exterior of the pocket. The panel is configured to be inserted into a clip of a tool, such as a tape measurer, to couple the tool to the panel. The first section is configured to be positioned between the tool and the pocket to isolate the tool from the pocket to prevent damage to the article of clothing.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an article adapted for temporarily affixing a personal music device to a vehicle. The article includes an attachment arm, a mounting arm integrally attached to the attachment arm with a connecting structure, and a key slot forming an aperture in the attachment arm for attaching a personal music device to the attachment arm. The article may be a one-piece structure.

Abstract: A smart phone holder assembly comprising a holster and a protective phone case. The holster includes two latch assemblies adapted to releasably engage with respective engagement members on the protective phone case thereby securely attaching and easily releasing the protective phone case from the holster. It is possible for the user to quickly, easily and securely engage and disengage the phone in its protective cover from the holster.

Abstract: Holders for portable handheld electronic devices. An embodiment has a compartment on a backplate that allows both a retractable cord and headpiece to be stored inside when not used. A spring loaded rewinder automatically retracts the cord and headpiece into the compartment where a hinge attached lid hides and protects the cord and headpiece. The backplate can include an internal inwardly protruding prong that is attached to the cord so that sliding the portable device into the holder plugs the prong into a socket on the device, and sliding the device out removes the socket from the prong. Another embodiment has a portable handheld electronics device holder with a built on bottle opener and can tab opener.

Abstract: The present invention may be used for positioning portable telephones on sun visors in vehicles. The holder may be in the general form of a rectangular box structure with a back side wall with a hanger attached, a right and a left side wall attached to the back side wall, a front side wall attached to the two side walls, and a bottom wall to form an open top interior chamber. The front side wall may have at least one opening therein.

Abstract: A holster and belt clip assembly for a box cutter are disclosed. In the holstering system embodiment, a holster releasably retains the box cutter. The holster has a body substantially conforming to the shape of the box cutter, an open top end, and a closed bottom end. A lanyard secures the box cutter to the holster. A belt clip, which is releasably engaged with the holster, mounts the holster to a belt of an operator.

Abstract: A dual function clip device for an electronic device having a screen has a body for receiving the electronic device, a clip mechanism with an arm movable relative to the body, and a viewing position support mechanism. The arm is pivotally movable about an axis in a first longitudinal position. The arm and its pivot axis is also movable longitudinally along a longitudinal axis of the device to at least one second longitudinal position where it may pivot open about the pivot axis. When the arm is open in the second longitudinal and open pivoted position, the clip device may be positioned to engage an upwardly facing flat surface so that the electronic device may be oriented to a viewing position to display its screen. A release lock and securement device are used for retaining the arm and for viewing position support. A method for displaying the screen is also described.

A push button latching mechanism is provided for releasably holding the button in the retracted position when it is pushed into the recess, and the latching mechanism is released when a user pushes the button inwardly from the latched position, allowing the button to pop out into the extended position under the action of the biasing spring.

Abstract: A casing for a portable electronic device, such as an MP3 player, a cell phone, a smart phone, or a PDA, is formed with two or more sleeves that may be placed onto the electronic device and together form a closed encasement for the electronic device. The encasement is formed to enable operative access to the electronic device while the sleeves are connected to form the closed encasement. A back panel of the encasement is removable so that it may be exchanged for an alternative panel. That is, a first back panel may simply be a planar panel that only forms an integral backwall part of the closed encasement and a second back panel may be provided with a belt clip or belt loop, or the like. The different removable back panels may thus be exchanged to provide the device for mutually different functions of the casing.

A plastic leaf spring has a fore end mounted to the main body, a curvaceous mid-section and an elongated leg member. A complementary pivot member in the clip arm coacts with the proximal pivot member such that when the main body pivots with respect to the clip arm, the elongated leg member bows. The method includes capturing the distal end of the spring into the clip arm and permitting the elongated leg to bow inboard during the pivot between the clip body and the clip arm.

Such a shock cord further includes a cable crimp directly attached thereto such that a loop is formed in a medial portion of the shock cord. The support apparatus further includes a substantially S-shaped holder removably secured to the shock cord. Such a holder is formed from rigid and durable material such that the holder maintains a fixed shape during operating conditions. The holder includes a deformably resilient and cushioned material statically affixed to an inner surface of a selected curved portion of the holder. The support apparatus further includes an audible signaling device attached to the shock cord and a mechanism for adjustably attaching the apparatus about a user neck during operating conditions.

Abstract: A personal communications device case belt connection system incorporates a thin plate having an aperture with a periphery and a peripheral channel. A wafer sized to be received in the aperture, engages the peripheral channel and periphery of the aperture to be secured in the plate. The wafer incorporates a connection, to a belt clip. The aperture in the plate and the wafer are hexahedral having two obtuse angled surfaces for self alignment. The wafer incorporates a peripheral groove engaging at least a portion of the periphery of the aperture and the plate further includes a resilient flap extending from a top of the aperture to engage the peripheral groove of the wafer to secure the wafer in the aperture. A belt clip incorporating a semicircular channel receives a disk sized to be received in the semicircular channel and attached to a front surface of the wafer. Alternatively, the wafer is attached by a spring to a belt clip scissor.

Abstract: A carrying assembly (10, 110) having an easy release clip for carrying of an electronic device (12, 112) is disclosed. In both a first and a second preferred embodiment, the easy release clip of the carrying assembly (10, 110) allows a user to insert and remove the electronic device (12, 112) in one step and without having to depress a release key. In the first preferred embodiment, the carrying assembly (10) is adjustable so that the electronic device (12) may be positioned in a horizontal position, a vertical position, or any position between horizontal and vertical. The carrying assembly (10) broadly comprises a rear panel (14), a spring component (16) including an integral leaf spring (46), a retainer button (18), and a base (20). In a second preferred embodiment, the carrying assembly (110) is fitted to a lanyard so that the electronic device (112) may be worn around the user's neck.

Abstract: An apparatus for holding a hand-held tool is provided. The apparatus includes a band for securing around a tool handle and a belt clip to which the band can be engaged in order to suspend the tool to the waist. An elongated strap is connectable, at one end, to the tool band and, at the other end, to the pants. The strap may be worn as a harness, and it suspends the tool when the tool hangs disengaged from the belt clip.

Abstract: A holster for a gun has a body with an interior suitable for the receipt of the gun therein, a belt-receiving first clip assembly removably affixed to one side of the body, and a belt-receiving second clip assembly removably affixed to an opposite side of the body. The clip assemblies are adjustably positioned relative to the body. Each of the clip assemblies includes a clip member and a flexible tab connected to the respective opposite sides of the body.

Abstract: A belt clip mechanism is constructed in a manner to provide a positive lock between a support arm and a securement arm of the clip. The support arm has a top end with a tongue and a bottom end with a barbed flange. The securement arm has a top end with a planar hand and a bottom end with an offset. The support arm includes a pair of opposed bosses near the top end while the securement arm includes a pair of opposed flanges near its top end. The two arms are held together by a shaft that extends through the bosses and flanges. A torsional spring is attached about the shaft to provide biasing of the offset in continuous contact against the barbed flange, thereby forming a positive locking of the securement arm to the support arm. The barbed flange includes a base that flexures upon a downward external force to allow the offset to unseat within the barbed flange as a simultaneous force is applied to squeeze the tongue and planar hand together to overcome the spring bias.

Abstract: A belt clip device is provided for a mobile communication terminal unit. The belt clip device includes a terminal unit holder for receiving and holding the terminal unit, a clamp provided on one side of the terminal unit holder and adapted to resiliently clip a belt worn by a user, thereby allowing the belt clip device to be mounted to the belt, and a connector for rotatably connecting the clamp to the terminal unit holder. The clamp includes a base portion, a panel portion hingably coupled at one end thereof to the base portion and spaced apart from the base portion to define a gap for receiving the belt therebetween, a spring adapted to urge the base portion and the panel portion in such a fashion that the gap is resiliently maintained, and a stopper provided at the other end of the panel portion and adapted to prevent the clamp from being separated from the belt.

Abstract: An all plastic clip for a portable electronic device is described. The clip includes a housing having a cradle for receiving a flange attached to the portable telephone and a back plate closing the housing. A latch inside the housing includes a detent extending through an orifice in the housing wall into the cradle. The latch release includes a release button disposed in an opening in the top of the housing. A displacement tine extends from the release button and includes a displacement ramp for interacting with a lifting slope on the latch. A resiliently flexible tongue also extends to the latch. In use, the release button is pushed and the displacement ramp interacts with the lifting slope to displace the latch and release the device. When the release button is released, the resiliently flexible tongue urges the latch back into the locking position.

Abstract: A retracting tether apparatus is disclosed comprising a retractor housing having a locking post on its outside surface. The apparatus also includes an attachment mechanism, such as a belt clip, for attaching to a body and a retaining section, the attachment mechanism being integral to the retaining section. The retaining section has a retaining section hole sized to mate with the locking post and the locking post has a mechanism for holding the post in the retaining section hole. The inside surface of the retaining section hole rides on an outside surface of the locking post to provide for smooth rotation of the retractor housing in relation to the retaining section.

Abstract: A device for holding a badge and an identification card includes a first strip of material constructed of leather. The first strip of material is shaped to include first and second generally oval-shaped portions which are connected through a neck. The first portion is shaped to include a pair of openings through which the badge can be pinned. A second strip of material constructed of leather is sewn onto the first strip of material along three sides so as to define a generally rectangular-shaped pocket for receiving the identification card, the first strip of material being shaped to include a centered window to display the identification card when disposed within the pocket. The first strip of material can be folded about the neck to form a closed loop. A pair of complementary fasteners are mounted onto the first strip of material to retain the device in its closed loop configuration.

Abstract: A portable paper towel dispenser to be worn on the waist of the user for the purpose of having a constant access too a roll of paper towels when cleaning. An adjustable belt assembly supports a detachable dowel system which bears a roll of paper towels and a detachable tension mechanism to retard unraveling. The harness belt strap adjusts to present the paper towels in front, back or to the side of the user's body. The harness belt appendages adjust to raise or lower the angle of the paper towel roll.

Abstract: A battery pack retention system useful for releasably securing an external battery pack to a user includes a battery pack having a first surface feature that secured, but releasably, connects to a second surface feature on a securing device. The securing device has gripping means to secure the battery pack assembly to a ski boot or elsewhere on the user. The releasable connection between the battery pack and the securing device provides the system with flexibility to provide different types of securing devices for enhanced user comfort and convenience.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for flexing a concealed holster to secure the contents of the holster in the holster. An elongate substantially rigid elastically flexible sling is secured to a side of the holster such that the elongate member and side of the holster can be partially separated so the wearer's shirts can be inserted therebetween to conceal the holster. The lower end of the sling can be flexed outwardly away from the side of the holster such that a portion of the outer side adjacent the lower end is, when the sling is flexed outwardly to insert the wearer's shirt, flexed inwardly to compress a pistol in the storage compartment.

Abstract: A holster is provided with a clip portion for clipping to a user's belt or other suitable location and a harness portion for holding an electronic device, such as, but not limited to, a medical infusion pump. The holster may include a rotation mechanism that allows the holster to be rotated in a manner, to position and maintain the electronic device in any one of a plurality of selectable rotational orientations, while the holster is clipped to the user's belt. Alternatively or in addition, the clip portion is pivotally connected by a hinge to the harness portion, to allow the harness portion to pivot upward relative to the clip portion. The pivotal connection of the clip portion to the harness portion allows the user pivot the harness portion (and, thus, a medical device received in the harness portion) upward, for example, to better accommodate the user's view or access to displays, indicators, compartments, buttons or other manual operators on the medical device.

The device includes a clip assembly for attachment to the belt, and includes a slot having an end portion circular in shape with a radius larger than the width of the slot. A pin fits into the slot only when at least one flat surface on the neck portion of the pin is parallel to one edge of the slot. The pin is allowed to rotate via the circular shape and the pin having a stem diameter corresponding the circular shape. This provides a locking mechanism where the narrower width of the slot prevents the pin from exiting the slot unless the instrument is turned a specific angle.

Abstract: A cell phone pouch comprises an elongate strap with a pocket having elastic sides formed on one side of the strap. The pocket is open at both ends and the strap may be extended through the pocket to contain a cell phone in a manner that accommodates phones of various size. A retention flap and clip are incorporated with the pocket for attachment of the cell phone pouch to a belt or strap.

Abstract: A system for securely attaching a portable device to the clothing of a user is provided. The system utilizes an adjustable separator located between the first end of a portable device mounting clip and the device housing. By controlling the amount that the first end of the clip can be depressed, the separator also controls the size of the gap between the second end of the clip and the device housing. If the user wants to lock the clip in place, the separator is adjusted to prevent any movement in the first end of the clip.

The gripping elements of the carrying device comprise guide grooves (8) for the reception of the support stud (2) and a tongue (7) moving transversely (6) against the plane (4) of the guide grooves and held by a spring (13) in a locking position (L) extending across the plane of the guide grooves. The carrying device has a hand-operated slide (27) which includes an element (12) to force the tongue against a spring force (F) off the position extending across the plane of the guide grooves, thereby moving it into a release position (R) which releases the support stud.

Abstract: A lightweight waterproof pouch for carrying personal objects such as cash, a watch, credit cards, a wallet, and the like in a wet environment and for keeping those objects safe and dry comprises an outer enclosure formed of flexible material, a removable, resealable, waterproof inner pouch liner for insertion into the outer enclosure, and a strap attached to the outer enclosure for holding the pouch around a wearer's body. The inner pouch liner forms a watertight compartment when closed for keeping the personal objects dry.

Abstract: A mobile telephone fastening includes a cramping member and a gripping member. The cramping member has a base attached to a back of the mobile telephone and a buckle integrally extending from the base. The buckle has two opposed long edges and two opposed short edges. The gripping member includes an enclosure with a longitudinal recess, a press button received in the enclosure, a swing plate pivotedly engage with the enclosure, and an inverted-U-shaped flexure strip. The longitudinal recess has a circular space defined at a lower portion thereof. The swing plate has a protrusion extending into the longitudinal recess of the enclosure. In operation, the two opposed short edges of the buckle can be inserted into the recess and urge the protrusion of the swing plate to retract. When the buckle reaches the circular space of the recess and force applied on the protrusion by the buckle is removed, the protrusion will restore to project beyond the enclosure.

Abstract: A fastening for securing an apparatus, such as a pager or a mobile telephone, to a belt is disclosed. The fastening includes a body, a board and a flexure strip attached to the apparatus. The body defines a recess in a front portion thereof for receiving the flexure strip and has a plurality of ratchet teeth uniformly distributed at two opposed sides of a rear portion thereof. The board is movably received in the rear portion of the body and has pawls integrally formed thereon for engaging with respective pair of the ratchet teeth. The pawls has a press bar integrally formed therebetween and a hook is integrally formed at a rear end of the board for abutting the belt. By this arrangement, a space is defined between the board and the back of the apparatus, which can be adjusted and adapted for receiving different belts with various widths. Also, the direction of each ratchet tooth is configured to enable the board to move only toward the front portion of the body so that the belt can be securely gripped.
