Abstract: A modular strapping machine feeds steel strapping material around a load, tensions the strapping material and welds the strapping material to itself in an end-to-end weld. The modular strapping machine includes a frame, a feed head removably mounted to the frame, a tension head removably mounted to the frame, a sealing head removably mounted to the frame and a strap chute. A strap straightener is mounted between the tension head and the sealing head. A leading end of the steel strapping material is conveyed from the feed head, through the tension head and the sealing head, through the strap chute and back to the sealing head. The sealing head is configured to grip the leading end, grip and sever a trailing end of the strapping material to form a loop end and weld the leading end to the loop end in an end-to-end weld.

Abstract: A blank for folding a box is proposed that allows folding a box of which the only seams substantially parallel to a bottom and a top plane of the box are a seam for attaching a first side panel to a first top side panel, a seam for attaching a second side panel to a second top side panel, and a seam for attaching a top end panel to a second end panel so that the seams are formed on an external surface of the box and are situated at a same distance from the bottom panel.

Abstract: A package of tobacco articles, having: a group of tobacco articles; a cup-shaped outer container (2) having an open top end (6), and a cup-shaped lid (7) hinged to the outer container (2) along a hinge (8) to rotate, with respect to the outer container (2), between an open position and a closed position opening and closing the open top end (6) respectively; and an inner package (3) which is housed inside the outer container (2), encloses the group of tobacco articles, and has a tobacco article extraction opening (4) closed by a cover flap (5); at least a portion of the cover flap (5) is connected permanently and non-removably to the lid (7), so that opening and closing the lid (7) simultaneously also opens and closes the cover flap (5).

Abstract: A trash can closure cover to be used in place of existing lids to provide a resilient collapsible cover on the trash can that can be easily removed and retained thereon. The trash can closure defines a flexible sheet cover configuration to be resiliently retained temporarily over the open end of the receptacle trash can container that will be retracted and collapsed on itself as it is removed.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing the length of tape ready for application on a package, the dispenser including a frame, a feed mechanism, a cutting mechanism, and an applicator. The frame has a storage area for storing tape therein. The feed mechanism is connected to the frame for feeding tape from the storage area. The cutting mechanism is connected to the frame for cutting the length of tape dispensed from the dispenser. The applicator is connected to the frame and adapted for applying an additional element to the tape when the length of tape is dispensed. The application of the additional element to the tape provides the length of tape with a predetermined characteristic. The additional element applied by the applicator is selected from a number of different additional elements. Each additional element has a different predetermined characteristic so that when applied to the tape, each of the different additional elements provides the length of tape with a different corresponding predetermined characteristic.
