Abstract: An expansion devise includes an unexpanded slit sheet roll that is wound on a paper core that is wider than the slit sheet paper. The paper core is placed into a yoke that holds the paper in position on each side of the unexpanded slit sheet material. An adjustable downward pressure is exerted on the paper core and the paper core exerts pressure on the yoke. As the paper is pulled, this downward pressure creates the friction required to enable the unexpanded slit sheet to be unwind and fed while simultaneously expanding. A blank sheet is formed into a box that stabilizes slit paper sheet wound around a core member.

Abstract: A gluing device for automatically gluing and folding a gluable item. The gluing device includes a support structure upon which a gluing apparatus and a support plate assembly are mounted. The support plate is configured for supporting and aligning a gluable item for gluing and assembly by the gluing apparatus. The gluing apparatus includes a first clamp configured for selectively and securely holding a first portion of the gluable item on the support plate, a glue dispensing nozzle fluidly coupled to a glue supply, and a folding apparatus configured for folding the first portion of the gluable item onto a second portion of the gluable item after glue has been applied. A method for automatically gluing and folding a gluable item is also disclosed.

Abstract: The wardrobe box comprises a lid a bottom and side walls, comprising also a door at one of its side walls, wherein the lid comprises two hinged sectors engageable to each other. The sectors of the lid comprise preferably complementary flaps engageable to each other, and the door comprises a detachable closing element. This permits to use no additional closing element, such as e.g. adhesive tape, to close the lid and to keep the door closed.

Abstract: A folding locking end wall assembly for a pillow pack is disclosed wherein the end wall is locked against opening forces created by the merchandise inside the packaging. In one exemplary configuration, the pillow pack is configured for automobile wiper blades and the disclosure is relevant to various other items of elongated merchandise that are relatively heavy for their size.

Abstract: A container assembly for bulk materials and a kit for assembling same are disclosed. A forming member having a plurality of sidewalls defines an internal cavity for receiving bulk materials. The sidewalls are arranged relative to one another and are locked into position so as to define a geometric volume of predetermined shape, by means of a locking assembly. The locking assembly can be integrally attached to or can be separable from the sidewalls, and can form a bottom of the container assembly. A tubular sleeve of continuous material is sized to snugly engage and overlie substantially the entire outer surface area of the sidewalls. The sleeve provides the containment strength, while the forming member provides structural shape and stability to the container assembly. Additional layers of corrugated material or woven polypropylene material or their combination may be used as inserts engaging the inner peripheral sidewall areas of the forming member to provide additional strength to the container assembly.

A first, a second, and a third upper flap are foldably connected to the first, second, and third side panels respectively. The first and third side panels have a first and third hand hole and a first and second slot, respectively. The second upper flap has a second hand hole and a first projection. Upon assembly of the container, the first, second, and third hand holes align, the first and second slots align and the first projection is received in the first and second slots.

Abstract: A reclosable carton having an integrated hang tab adapted for use on standard store pegboard or racking displays wherein the integrity of the hangtab is such that it will withstand the loading of weights comparable to or exceeding those withstood by pressure sensitive hangtabs. The hangtab is perforated along the bottom so that it can be torn off by the consumer after purchase. With the hangtab in use, the carton with which it is integrated provides continuous closure to the product inside via a top inside major flap which prevents dust and debris from entering the carton. A zipstrip is included and it provides a positive closure for the package which is tamper evident and secure. A reclose tab is integrated into the zipstrip. When the zipstrip is removed, the reclose tab is created. It can be tucked into a corresponding opening in the carton front wall panel for carton reclosure. Additionally, a secure locking ellipse is incorporated into the carton.

Abstract: A locking arrangement for panels includes a first panel, a locking tab extending from the first panel, a second panel having a main portion, and a leading portion connected thereto along a plurality of collinear panel fold lines, and a pair of locking slits defined in the second panel. Each locking slit extends at least from a first point disposed astride one of the panel fold lines, into the leading portion and to a second point disposed on the main portion, and the locking slits defining therebetween a strut panel. The locking tab is received into the slits, and is held between the strut panel and the second panel. A strut fold line may be disposed across the strut panel from the locking slit to the cut edge substantially in parallel to the panel fold line, the strut fold line being disposed in an offset relationship to the panel fold line in a direction toward the leading portion, whereby folding of the leading portion at least partially opens the locking slit for receiving the locking tab thereinto.

Abstract: A box-shaped carton having additional rectilinear corners for holding a plurality of glassware articles, which has increase vertical and/or horizontal stiffness for storing and stacking purposes. The carton includes at least five side panels to form at least one additional flat edge from the increased rectilinear corners for displaying printed material about the stored articles. The carton also can be folded into a sleeve when fully glued together. A blank for forming the carton is also provided.

Abstract: A mailing pack includes a bottom panel and first and second side flaps hingedly connected with first and second opposite edges of the bottom panel. First and second end flaps are hingedly connected with third and fourth opposite edges of the bottom panel. The first end flap extends in a first direction from the hinge edge thereof and the second end flap extends from the hinge edge thereof in an opposite direction. The bottom panel, first and second side flaps and first and second end flaps are constructed from a fluted material having flutes extending in a second direction. A securing tab arrangement secures the end flaps in substantially parallel covering relation to the side flaps and the bottom panel.

Abstract: A pizza tote is provided for a foldable pizza box being of a one piece construction and having a top panel, a bottom panel, a central panel, with the top panel and the bottom panel each having three side panels. The pizza tote consists of a pair of elongated straps, each extending from one opposite side panel of the bottom panel. A mechanism is for joining the distal ends of the straps together to form a triangular configuration. A handle carrying assembly extends up from the apex of the triangular configuration of the straps, so that a person can grip with one hand the handle carrying assembly to carry the pizza box suspended therefrom.

Abstract: A wrap-around beverage carrier designed to carry four bottles. The bottom panel comprises two overlapping interlocked flaps foldably attached to the side panels, the overlying flap having primary locking tabs in engagement with primary locking slots in the underlying flap. The underlying flap further has a single centrally located secondary punch-style arrow-shaped locking tab which engages a secondary locking opening in the overlying flap. The overlying flap also has two tertiary locking tabs which engage tertiary locking openings in the underlying flap. The primary locking tabs consist of either a single or two closely spaced centrally located oversized position locking tabs and two outwardly spaced undersized position locking tabs, the oversized position tab being operable when oversize bottles are in the package and the undersized position tabs being operable when undersize bottles are in the package.
