The sum of the widths of the lid sections is substantially equal to the width of a receiving section intended for carrying the window and the lid sections have different widths. The width of each lid section corresponds to at least ¼ of the width of the receiving section. Preferably, the packaging comprises an indication that it should be opened at the joint between the two lid sections and one of the lid sections preferably has a standard width regardless of the size of the packaging, preferably approximately 40 cm. A packed window and a method for packing a window is also part of the invention.

To close the container, it is only necessary to press such flaps to the center and inwards and the container will be kept sealed. When closing the container, a “sinking” is formed in the top part of the container which acts as a cushion so that the product in the container is kept in good condition.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a pizza container are described using a container blank formed from a single piece of paperboard material. The container includes a bottom panel, first and second opposing side wall panels, and first and second opposing end wall panels. Each container further includes two top cover panels that fold over onto the container and act as lids. At least one U-shaped cut is formed along a hinge line connecting a top cover panel with an end wall panel. The U-shape has a closed side and an open side. The cut is oriented with the closed side extending into either the first end wall panel or the first top cover panel. The open side is positioned along the first hinge line. As assembled, the U-shaped portion is generally perpendicular with the panel from which it was formed. Various embodiment of lock mechanisms are described as well.

    Abstract: A reclosable, stackable, standable package for food products such as baked goods easily converts from a parallelepiped form to a widened shape on top for easy access to the snack which is contained within an inner liner bag. The package stays in a widened open configuration throughout hand-to-mouth snacking even while resting on its front or back panel. The outer carton of the package has score lines on the front and the back panels of the carton extending from the lower corners of the front and the back panels to the center of the upper edge of the front and the back panels. Score lines also extend across the center of the top front and back flaps. The score lines in combination with the disconnected top flaps design not only allows the top of the package to form a wide oval shaped opening for easy access to the packaged goods, but also allows the package to stay opened while snacking.

    Abstract: A corrugated paperboard box has two opposed side panels, connected by two opposed end panels having oblong hand hold holes. The box has an automatic bottom for rapid assembly. Overlapping side top flaps extend from the side panels, and engage with one another to temporarily retain the side top flaps closed on the container. A closure flap extends from each side top flap to overlie portions of the other side top flap and the adjacent side panel. An oblong closure tab extends from a fold line from each closure flap and may be pressed through the hand hold hole to lock the side top flap in the closed condition. Each closure flap has two diagonal fold lines, and is larger than the hand hole into which it extends, such that, once fully inserted, the closure tabs are not readily extracted, thereby retaining the container in a securely closed condition without a requirement for tape, glue, or staples.

    Abstract: The present invention provides for an improved telescoping container, which is set up and collapsed flat quickly and easily, and is provided to the user in one integral piece, eliminating the necessity of a lid being assembled or maintained separately. An integral lid provides an improved amount of cushioning and strength, and does not enter the cubic volume of the container and thus reduce available storage space. In one embodiment of the invention the container gains strength from a double glued seam, having opposing edges sealed to one another with two tabs; alternatively one of the two tabs is sealed. The container sets up by having an inner portion telescope into an outer portion, and may be collapsed flat by pulling the inner portion back out of the outer portion. In one embodiment the ease of set up is further improved by forming the lid from a continuous sheet of material, so that the lid may be closed in one motion, rather than the sequence of steps required with other lids.
