Including Means For Removing At Least Part Of The Original Mailing Address From The Original Envelope Patents (Class 229/305)
  • Patent number: 5248082
Abstract: A two-way mailer is constructed of top and bottom plies which form an outgoing and a return envelope, at least one insert ply secured between the top and bottom plies and a control ply overlying the top ply. The top ply bears the MAIL TO and the RETURN addresses for the outgoing envelope. The top ply also includes a die-cut removable pull tab. The insert ply includes a stationary portion adhered to the top ply around the outer perimeter of the pull tab. A section of the stationary portion located behind the pull tab bears the MAIL TO address for the return envelope. Removing the pull tab exposes the section and the MAIL TO address for the return envelope. With as few as three total plies, this two-way mailer can be consistently printed on an impact printer without any paper jams.

  • Patent number: 5230464
Abstract: A two-ply construction in a product transmittal package having a removable compartment for the product in which removal is facilitated by lines of perforations in one ply in alignment with a cooperating slot in the other ply, so that rupture of the perforations and not also the construction material of a ply is all that is necessary to separate the compartment from the package.

  • Patent number: 5213258
Abstract: A reusable, returnable envelope is disclosed, which has a removable front cover sheet and a resealable closure flap. A primary envelope body has a front wall, a back wall, and a sealable closure flap. A tear-away front cover sheet is secured over the face of the front wall and carries a first address. After removal of the cover sheet, the front wall is exposed, which forms an address area and can be provided with a pre-printed return address. The closure flap includes at least two adhesive areas separated by at least one tear strip element and at least one guide strip associated therewith. On the first use of the envelope, the closure flap is opened without destruction by pulling on the tear strip, severing the original flap across its width and forming a new, shorter closure flap. The envelope is readied for its second use by removal of the front cover sheet and resealing of the closure flap using the second adhesive area.

  • Patent number: 5207373
Abstract: A remailable postcard includes a front side and a back side. The front side would be used in the initial mailing to indicate the original addressee and contain the necessary postage. The back side would have the portion indicating the address of the return addressee. In addition, return postage would be provided on the back side. The return addressee portion would be at least partially covered by a removable label or flap. The card also contains a tear off strip along the edge having the original postage. When the original addressee wishes to return the card the label or flap would be removed to expose the return addressee information and the tear off strip would be detached to remove the original postage. The back side of the card would then contain the necessary postal information to permit the card to be remailed.

  • Patent number: 5201464
Abstract: A C-fold simple mailer is provided which may be processed on a laser (or other non-impact) printer. Pressure sensitive adhesive is utilized to form the mailer, and integral return envelope. C-folding and sealing are effected after printing of variable data on the form. In one construction variable data is printed on both faces of the form utilizing a duplex sheet feed laser printer, while in a second construction a simplex continuous laser printer is utilized and variable data--including the outgoing addressee address indicia--is printed on only one face. In the second construction a die cut window is provided so that the outgoing address information is visible from the exterior of the mailer.

  • Patent number: 5174494
Abstract: A mailer type business form, an intermediate for the form, and a method of making the form are provided. The mailer type business form is constructed from a single ply sheet of paper and a small panel (less than one-quarter the size of the sheet) which cooperates with a quadrant of the sheet to provide a return envelope. The sheet is folded along orthogonal fold lines to provide four plies, a fifth ply being provided by the panel which cooperates with one of the plies to form the return envelope. The mailer is constructed by positively guiding the panel (preferably utilizing a tractor hole strip along one edge) into contact with predetermined adhesive strips on the single ply sheet, and then subsequently folding the sheet along the orthogonal fold lines.

  • Patent number: 5172855
Abstract: A business form has a first ply and a second ply with an insert ply therebetween. The insert ply has a cutout portion along the upper edge of a certain dimension and a cutout portion along the lower edge of a lesser dimension than the cutout portion along the upper edge, the upper cutout portion accommodating adhesive for sealing a return envelope of a mailer that uses the same ply for the back of the outgoing mailer and for the back of the return envelope.
