  • Patent number: 9589124
Abstract: Various features described herein may allow an authorized user to provide a guest with access to a secured location through use of an encoded image containing steganographically encoded access information. The encoded access information may be recognizable by a security system, and the security system may grant access to the secured location when the encoded image is presented to the security system. The authorized user may request the generation of the encoded image on an authorized computing device, and the encoded image may be provided to the guest on a guest computing device. When a monitoring device associated with the security system captures the encoded access information, the security system may, for example, open a door at the secured location.

  • Patent number: 9519810
Abstract: Calibrating extrinsic parameters of an imaging system in an automated data reading system includes obtaining, from the imaging system, image data representing an imaged portion of a planar calibration target. The target is coupled to a housing of the automated data reading system and superimposed on a surface thereof. For example, the calibration target is placed on a conveyer surface, or it is printed on the housing of the automated data reading system. The imaged portion of the planar calibration target includes spaced-apart optical codes disposed at positions that coincide with predetermined locations of the automated data reading system to define known calibration-control points for the surface. Optical codes represented in the image data are decoded to obtain observed calibration-control points used for calibrating the extrinsic parameters based on differences between the known and observed locations of the calibration-control points.

The system also decodes the symbology information into unencoded information using a coding scheme of the barcode and generates a funds transfer request for the funds transfer transaction, such that the funds transfer request has content including the unencoded information decoded from the symbology information. The system also sends the funds transfer request to a transaction processing system for subsequent settlement, as well as receives transaction confirmation messages.

Abstract: An automatic testing method applied to an automatic testing system for testing a barcode identification apparatus is described. In the method, a test host is utilized to generate a barcode pattern automatically, so as to display the barcode pattern through a barcode revealing apparatus. The barcode identification apparatus reads and resolves the barcode pattern to retrieve an identification result. The identification result is returned to the test host. The test host compares the barcode information carried by the barcode pattern and the identification result, and generates a test result. The test host repetitively generates the barcode pattern for a barcode identification apparatus carried the barcode pattern and the identification result, and then generates a test result. Through the test host repeatedly generates the barcode pattern and records the corresponding test result, manual operation is not required to obtain testing data for being analyzed.

Abstract: Various algorithms are presented that enable an image of a machine-readable code, captured by a camera of an electronic device, to be decoded on the device without need to upload the image information to a server for processing. The algorithms can account for variations in focus of the image, as may result in blur due to move movement or auto-focus features. The approaches can handle multiple machine-readable code formats, and can handle machine-readable code on curved surfaces, machine-readable code with damaged areas, or machine-readable code that are otherwise uneven. Such algorithms are highly accurate while being fast and lightweight enough to execute on portable electronic devices, such as tablet computers and smart phones.

  • Patent number: 8874430
Abstract: A method for preparing a multi-lingual personal identification card includes receiving a multi-lingual text comprising Latin-based characters in a Latin-based language and non-Latin-based characters in a non-Latin-based language. The multi-lingual text includes the name of the holder of the personal identification card in the Latin-based language and the non-Latin-based language. The method converts the non-Latin-based characters in the multi-lingual text to index values to produce a pseudo text. The conversion is based on a predefined mapping that converts the Unicode values of the non-Latin-based characters to index values having fewer digits than the corresponding Unicode values of the non-Latin-based characters. The method receives vector data for a personal image which includes a facial image, a finger print, or a combination of both of the holder of the personal identification card, and encodes the pseudo text and the vector data in the matrix-code symbol.
