Extensible Patents (Class 239/281)
  • Patent number: 4092996
Abstract: This apparatus is designed for transferring fluid from a fluid source to a fluid consumer. The system includes two substantially identical, extendable and collapsable pipe systems each of which includes a plurality of substantially rigid pipes and a plurality of pipe coupling devices. The pipe coupling devices are arranged to pivotally connect the ends of the pipes together so that fluid may flow from pipe to pipe through the pipe coupling devices. A plurality of holding devices are arranged to hold a specific portion of a pipe in one pipe system in a pivotal spaced apart relationship to a corresponding portion of a pipe in the other pipe system. Fluid from the flow source communicates with one end of each of the pipe systems through the plurality of pipes, through the plurality of pipe coupling devices to a fluid consumer or fluid distributor. This apparatus also includes a plurality of supporting devices each arranged for carrying the pipe systems above a surface.

  • Patent number: 4013225
Abstract: An extension spray gun comprising a plurality of hollow pole sections telescopically secured together to form an extendable pole having a spray nozzle secured to one end of the pole and a valve secured to the other end of the pole to control flow of paint through a flexible hose extending between the valve and the nozzle. Paint is delivered from the hose to a chamber formed in the nozzle and flows through a passage in the nozzle to a spray tip. A valve element in the chamber is spring urged to close the passage when pressure of paint in the chamber is less than a predetermined pressure.

  • Patent number: 4009666
Abstract: Apparatus for injecting a fluid below a soil or turf surface includes a handle with a support rod attached thereto, and a plurality of nozzles carried by the support rod, each nozzle forming a stream of fluid passing therethrough. Each nozzle is provided with a skid having a curved surface for low friction contact with the soil or turf surface and for holding the nozzle out of contact with the surface. The apparatus is provided with a pump which cooperates with the nozzle to inject the fluid substantially below the soil surface.

  • Patent number: 4007878
Abstract: An adjustable drop nipple is disclosed for installing fire protection sprinkler systems which comprise sprinkler head assemblies of the dry, pendant type. The downwardly extending length of a drop nipple having a sprinkler head thereon is adjusted by sliding the nipple axially in a collet having an externally tapered section that engages an internally tapered section of a stationary collet holder. When a selected drop length has been established, the collet is then compressed axially against the collet holder with tightening means whereby the nipple is firmly gripped by the collet so that axial sliding thereof is prevented, thereby maintaining the nipple at the selected drop length.

  • Patent number: 3998388
Abstract: A reciprocator for traversing a fluid actuated apparatus between retracted and extended positions and for supplying fluid to said apparatus for operation thereof. While the invention is adaptable to various specific configurations, it is illustrated in the context of a die lubricator. A supporting structure includes drive means in the form of a pneumatic cylinder and support means in the form of a plurality of telescoping tubes. The tubes each have a fixed end attached to the supporting structure, an intermediate portion journalled for linear motion in the supporting structure and a free end carrying the fluid actuated apparatus. Fluid supplies are connected to the fixed ends of the telescoping tubes so that, in addition to the support function, the tubes serve as conduits of actuating fluid for the reciprocatable apparatus.
