To Be Mixed, Dissolved Or Entrained In A Flowing Liquid Stream Prior To Discharge Patents (Class 239/310)
  • Patent number: 8393350
Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and methods for introducing additives into a fluid flow. An additive vessel, with chambers for one or more additives, is attached to a primary flow fixture in a configuration that permits a diversion of part of the primary flow through the additive vessel then back to the outlet of the primary flow fixture. When the apparatus is engaged, a part of the primary flow is diverted to the additive vessel, combines with the additive, and then is re-introduced to the fluid stream, exiting the primary flow fixture.

Abstract: A paint sprayer includes a motor-driven multi-stage turbine for compressing air, which subsequently flows through a venturi in a paint gun to draw in paint or some other liquid from a canister. To prevent the high-pressure air from expelling lubricant from the motor's inboard bearing, a pressure responsive annular seal axially deflects and sealingly engages an axial face of the bearing. To avoid subjecting the seal and bearing to excess air pressure and temperature created by the turbine, a bypass bleed line diverts some air to atmosphere when the paint gun is closed.

Abstract: A filled multi-component material applied by a dispensing system is disclosed. The material can be produced by mixing a first reactive component comprising a resin and a filler with a second reactive component comprising a curing agent. The filler can comprise a hard filler and/or an elastic filler such as ground recycled tire material. The first reactive component and the second reactive component can be fed to a dispensing apparatus and mixed by a static mixer, each of which can be disposable. The mixture can then be dispensed onto a surface using air spray, airless spray or extrusion, for example. When applied to a surface, the mixture typically polymerizes and entrains the filler materials to provide a protective layer having improved properties. In certain embodiments, the filler materials can include recycled tires that have been ground into fine particles, providing environmentally friendly new products from old tires that typically end up as landfill.

The injection unit, upon user demand, draws a controllable predetermined quantity of bathing fluid from a standard off the shelf purchased bottle of bathing fluid, such as a bottle of bath oil, and then ejects, upon user demand and in a hands free operation, the drawn bathing fluid, at a user selected flow rate. The ejected bathing fluid passes to the mixing unit which causes the ejected bathing fluid to be mixed within a stream of water being delivered to the water dispensing device.

  • Patent number: 7992809
Abstract: Provided is a manual air-actuated spray paint apparatus and associated method for evenly disbursing paint in a controlled manner. Such an apparatus preferably includes a portable reservoir for holding the paint therein and a hand-actuated paint applicator removably coupled thereto. A mechanism for simultaneously discharging a single stream of paint and a volume of air may also be included. A discharge spout is removably mated to and in fluid communication with the paint applicator for mixing the single paint stream and the volume of air as they pass through the spout. A trigger is pivotally mated to the housing and is articulated between tensioned and released positions to activate the paint discharging mechanism. When the trigger is engaged, the paint is directed upwardly out of the reservoir and travels out the discharge spout to be applied to the surface intended to receive the paint.

Abstract: A plumbing fixture including, but not limited to, an aspirating type shower head operates to add a selected scent to the spray water. The showerhead utilizes a venturi assembly where the water supply passes through a venturi. A negative pressure is created at the high velocity water jet stream point, near the narrow area of the venturi. A number of small openings in the venturi, to a surrounding air chamber, allow air from the chamber, to be drawn into the venturi. The air chamber has inlet openings for the aspiration of room air. At a portion of these inlet openings is a quick connect port to receive a scented cartridge. The scent cartridge is positioned within the quick connect port of the showerhead. Room air is drawn through and over the scented material where the high velocity air picks up scent molecules for expulsion from the outlet.
