The air pressurizer comprises a pump and motor assembly delivering pressurized air by way of first and second air conduits to a nozzle. The media is stored in a detachable reservoir housed within the device and provided with a liquid conduit for conducting the media to the nozzle. Upon actuation of a spray button, the pump and motor assembly causes a stream of air to flow through the first and second air conduits and past an opening in the media conduit. Thus, a negative pressure is induced into the media conduit. The negative pressure draws liquid from the reservoir through the media conduit where it is entrained within the air stream as minute droplets and exits the body of the airbrush through a nozzle.

  • Patent number: 6953155
Abstract: An assembly for feeding liquid to the inlet port of a liquid spraying device or spray gun. The assembly includes a stiff container that defines an opening into a cavity in the container, and a flexible liner positioned within the cavity in the container has an outer surface generally corresponding in shape to the inner surface of the container, an inner surface defining a cavity in the liner, and an annular lip along the top end of the side wall defining an opening into the cavity in the liner. An included adapter assembly has a central portion with a through opening that is adapted to engage the inlet port of a liquid spraying device, a transverse portion including a peripheral part adapted for engagement within the flexible liner adjacent said top end of the container, and means for sealing the flexible liner around the peripheral part of the adapter assembly. An air supply assembly connected to the container supplies air at a relatively low pressure (e.g., in the range of about 0.

  • Patent number: 6892960
Abstract: The present invention discloses an airbrush including an elongate body having an internal cavity and an external grip surface to be held in the hand of a user. A DC electric motor and an air pump driven by the motor are oriented within the body cavity. A switch is oriented on the elongate body external surface proximate to a finger of a user's hand. A removable pen having an internal liquid reservoir and a nib cooperates with the elongate body and extends within an air chamber having an outlet nozzle and an inlet coupled to the air pump. The user selectively actuates a switch to cause the motor to drive the pump providing an air stream of pressurized air to the air chamber which flows above the nib drawing liquid particles therefrom, into the air stream forming a mist which is sprayed from an outlet orifice of the outlet nozzle.

Abstract: A paint spraying gun with a gun body and a material supply device that are connected to one another by a screw-wedge connection. The screw-wedge connection includes a screw-wedge element that is arranged on the circumference of an essentially hollow-cylindrical connecting part of the material supply device, and a corresponding counter element on the gun body. The connection is inexpensively manufactured and easily handled. The screw-wedge element extends in an arc over more than half of the circumference of the connecting part with the ends of the screw-wedge element being peripherally spaced from one another. The counter element is an arcuate projection arranged on one side of and above a receiving bore of the gun body.

  • Patent number: 6848633
Abstract: In an aspirating and dispensing/spraying device, a holder is screwed onto a tube, connected to a liquid supply line, in such a way that it is displaceable along the tube by rotation. The tube is surrounded at a distance by a coaxial sleeve, which is solidly anchored in the holder, having a discharge opening on its front end, which is conically narrowed, whose edge surrounds the front end of the tube, which carries a outlet opening, separated by a narrow annular gap from the tube. The sleeve carries a connecting piece laterally, to which a pressurized gas supply line is connected and which discharges eccentrically into the space between the sleeve and the tube, so that pressurized gas flowing in receives angular momentum. When the gas flows out of the annular gap, it mixes intensively with the liquid coming out of the outlet opening and forms a discharge cone made of a fine, symmetrical aerosol with the liquid.

  • Patent number: 6837447
Abstract: An apparatus for adapting a blower system to the dispersing of liquid material is partially housed within an extension tube of a portable blower and includes a pressurizing tub with an inlet for accepting airflow discharged by the blower. The pressurizing tube discharges into a liquid container thus increasing pressure within the container. An extraction tube exits the container and meets a Venturi tube that also accepts airflow discharge by the blower. A vacuum is created in the extraction tube through first and second apertures that allow fluid communication between the Venturi tube and the extraction tube. The vacuum created in the extraction tube extracts liquid from the liquid container and the liquid is drawn out of the extraction tube through the Venturi hole into the Venturi tube mixing with air flowing there through and discharging into airflow by-passing the spray adapter apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6820824
Abstract: A spray gun has a fluid reservoir that contains a removable liner. The liner, which may be thermo/vacuum-formed from a plastics material, is a close fit within the interior of the reservoir and collapses as fluid is withdrawn from within the liner during operation of the gun. Preferably, the liner has a comparatively-rigid base and is capable of standing, unsupported, outside the reservoir. The side walls of the liner are preferably thin in comparison to the base and can be collapsed for disposal of the liner. The reservoir has a removable lid and is capable of standing, inverted, on its own so that it can be filled with fluid. The lid also functions to secure the liner in the reservoir and, at the end of a spraying operation, the lid and the liner are removed together from the reservoir and discarded, thereby simplifying the cleaning of the spray gun.

Abstract: A water jet is disclosed having a tank which forms a reservoir containing a liquid, such as water. An elongated conduit has one end fluidly connected to the reservoir while a nozzle is connected to the other end of the conduit. This nozzle, furthermore, has an opening with a cross-sectional area less than the cross-sectional area of the conduit. A valve is connected in series between the conduit and the reservoir, and this valve is movable between an open and a closed position. The reservoir is pressurized to a pressure in the range of 30-300 psi so that, once the valve is opened, water flows through the conduit and out through the nozzle at a high pressure and high speed water jet. This water jet can be used, inter alia, to clean industrial parts, such as engine blocks.
