The cover defines a pair of resilient arms (22, 24) adapted for releasable engagement with a mounting profile (16) on the rear of the base (12). In a preferred embodiment, the mounting profile (16) and arms (22, 24 are provided with recesses (18) and corresponding projections (26) for secure mounting, and projections (28) enabling the arms to be bent outward in order to release the cover.

Abstract: In the installation and removal of a fastener cap for covering a fastener which makes a front cover constructed as a first cover and a back cover constructed as a second cover fixed to each other by a fastener such as screw, which would appear on the exterior of products, the fastener cap is easily disassembled from the covers without marring the exterior of products, while maintaining an attractive appearance thereof. A back cover 20 which is coupled to a front cover 10 by means of a screw fastener 40, includes a fastener well 21 having a front assembly groove 23 and a back assembly groove 25 into which a front assembly projection 31 and a back assembly projection 32 on fastener cap 30 are respectively inserted during assembly.

Abstract: A cap crown button comprises a female retaining body, a decorating cloth, a fastening element, and a male retaining body. The female retaining body has an arcuate top, a periphery and a receiving space provided centrally with a projection having an axial hole which is provided therein with a shoulder. The projection has a belly portion. The female retaining body is covered with the decorating cloth. The fastening element is located in the receiving space such that the fastening element fastens the decorating cloth which extends into the receiving space. The male retaining body comprises a disklike bottom and a nail having thereon a tapered head capable of piercing the cap crown to engage the axial hole of the projection of the female retaining body. The female retaining body has a mating sustaining portion for supporting the head.

Abstract: A plastic device for detachably covering and concealing a button employs a first horizontal plate having at least one opening therein. A second horizontal plate spaced from the first plate is secured to one end of a hollow cylinder having opposite open ends and closes same. A living hinge integrally secures a portion of the periphery of the other open end of the cylinder to a peripheral portion of the first plate. The device has an open position at which the other end of the cylinder is out of engagement with the first plate and has a closed position at which said other end of the cylinder is in mating engagement with the first plate. The cylinder and the first plate are provided with detachable locking engagement means which are spaced apart when the device is in the open position and which are disposed in locking engagement when the device is in closed position.

Abstract: A cap crown button comprises a female retaining body, a male retaining body and a covering body. The female retaining body is provided with a retaining hole having at the upper end thereof a receiving space in which a connection portion, a receiving portion and a tapered portion are disposed. When the pin column of the male retaining body is inserted into the retaining hole of the female retaining body, the tapered head of the pin column of the male retaining body is rested against the tapered portion such that the bottom edge of the tapered head of the male retaining body is received in the receiving portion of the retaining hole. The retaining effect of the male retaining body and the female retaining body is therefore effectively enhanced without causing the tapered head of the male retaining body to pierce through the female retaining body.

Abstract: A device for draping curtain fabrics includes a retainer for positioning the curtain fabric in a predetermined arrangement. A disk-like cover is secured to the retainer. The disk-like cover includes a mounting side and securing means removably secured thereto for selectively securing the disk-like cover to the retainer.

Abstract: A convertible jewelry article includes a button cover and a pair of inserts for converting the button cover for use as a pin or a clip-on earring. The button cover includes a cover portion having an open back and a back plate hinged to the cover so that it is hingeably received over the open back. The back plate includes an opening for receiving button attachment means therein, and resilient clip members for releasably maintaining the back plate in closed relation over the open back. The pin insert includes an insert body, a raised surface on one side thereof and a pin projecting outwardly from the raised surface. The earring insert is generally similar but includes a spring loaded earring clamp instead of a pin. Both of the inserts are adapted to be received in the cover portion so that the raised surface is received in interfitting engagement with the opening in the back plate when the back plate is in closed relation over the open back of the button cover.

The covering part can therefore be made from any material, including rigid materials, and can be easily manipulated.

Abstract: A fastening device for securing a pair of socks together includes a first fastener attached to one sock of the pair and a second fastener attached to the other sock of the pair, said fasteners being releasably engageable with one another. The fastening device prevents the loss of socks due to separation from one another and the inconsistent pairing of socks of a similar type.

Abstract: The invention relates to a clasp having coverable clasp parts, comprising a clasp upper part (1) of dish-shaped cross section and, pressable into the latter, a clasp lower part (2) of dish-shaped cross section, the upper and lower surfaces facing one another and the internal space of the clasp serving to receive the ends (9) of the covering material (3) surrounding the clasp upper part (1). The lower surface and the upper surface of the clasp do not run parallel to one another. The plane (5) of the lower surface of the clasp lower part (2) runs parallel, however, to the plane (7) of the edges of the open underside (7) of the clasp upper part (1), and the open plane of the upper side (6) of the clasp lower part (2) runs parallel to the upper side (4) of the clasp upper part (1) forming the upper surface. Furthermore, the invention also relates to an apparatus for producing the fabric-covered clasp.

Abstract: The present invention provides a swivel-head button comprising a button member with a cylindrical member upstanding from a flange and an attaching member with an opening in the center in which said cylindrical member is received, the bottom end of said cylindrical member being provided with a fulcrum part for swivelling head movement having an outer diameter larger than the opening of said attaching member.The swivel-head button is simple and minituarized in construction but retains a sufficient attaching strength.

Abstract: A tack button utilizes a pivot tack that has a long taper on its shank which prevents buckling and a subsequent loose connection of the assembled button parts, particularly the assembly of the back member of the button with the fabric to which the button is being attached. The long tapered shank curls as the assembly process is carried out so that a curled structure is within the button shell and is positioned to clinch the back member to the fabric.

Abstract: A capped eyelet, for attachment of a snap fastener member to a garment fabric, comprises an eyelet body including a shank with a flange, a cap covering over the flange and secured to a periphery thereof, and at least one punched buffer wing projecting from the flange and having at least one rib. The buffer wing is resiliently deformable to absorb an endwise force applied to the shank when the eyelet is axially compressed for being joined with a snap fastener member. At that time the rib is engageable with the upper end portion of the shank to assist in absorbing the riveting force.

Abstract: A tiltable button has a two-piece interior part of rigid material including a disk-like member non-turnably held between a cap and a button back, and a separate socket member extending through a hollow hub of the button back and joined with a tack member with a garment fabric therebetween. The disk-like member has at least one unyielding off-center leg. The socket member has a collar portion which is loosely received in the hollow hub and through which collar portion there extends at least one groove receptive of the leg so that the disk-like member and hence the button body can be manually tilted with respect to the axis of the socket member but are prevented from turning about their own common axis.

Abstract: A plastics button assembly comprises an outer body component, an inner body component trapped substantially non-retrievably within a recess in the rear of the outer body component, and a cloth cover substantially covering the front of said outer body component, the edges of which are trapped securely between the engaging surfaces of said outer and inner body components. A shank extends from within the recess of the outer component and the inner component is engaged about and supported by the shank. The inner component is a specially shaped annular plastic washer having a flat inner face and a contoured outer face. An annulus of reduced thickness extends about a central aperture, and this annulus is surrounded by an annulus of maximum thickness which tapers towards the periphery of the washer. This allows the plastics button to be assembled in a conventional two piece die set as used for metal shell buttons.

The axial dimension of the interior area of the cap member is greater than the axial dimension of the cylindrical body and flange of the base element for insertion of the base element to varying depths into the cap member. The diametric dimension of the cap member is slightly smaller than the diametric dimension of the flange of the base element for flexure of the flange upon assembly to engage the fabric edge therebetween.

Abstract: An attaching device for attaching a socket member of a snap fastener to a garment has a post having a circular flange extending from a cylindrical stem and a cap mounted thereon. The circular flange has a central portion, an intermediate inclined annular step, a radially outwardly extending annular shoulder, and a plurality of radial ribs extending radially outwardly from an end of the stem to the inclined annular step. The central portion of the flange has a surface adjacent to the inclined annular step which is held against a rounded wall of the cap. The end of the post is axially spaced from the rounded wall of the cap to provide a clearance therebetween. The annular shoulder of the flange is locked in position by an annular curled rim of the cap. Any impact force applied when the attaching device is staked on the socket member is distributed uniformly to the flange, preventing the cap from being deformed.

Thus, the button adapts readily to fabric coverings of varying thicknesses by varying the amount of radial expansion of the main body.

The button portion consists of a button head and a stem integrally formed with the underside of the button head. The backside of the button head is provided with an annular recessed cavity about the stem. The collet retainer and the peripheral edge of the fabric are substantially completely disposed within the recessed cavity. The collet retainer is of circular shape with a side wall and a concave top wall with a central hole to receive the stem of the button head.

Abstract: A fabric covered button which is of a two-piece construction and includes a button portion which advantageously can have any one of a number of different types of securement means integrally or otherwise formed with it, and a locking ring. The button portion consists of a button head having a stem having a plurality of serrations formed annularly in it integrally formed with the underside of the button head. Any one of a number of different attachment means are or can be integrally formed with the stem, at the terminal end thereof. The fabric is draped over the button head and extended around its edge to the rear thereof. A flat washer-like locking ring having an interior diameter proportioned to forcibly fit over the stem lockingly engages with the respective ones of the serrations. The edges of the fabric at the rear of the button head are lockingly secured between the rear of the button head and the locking ring, by the locking ring when it is secured in place to the stem.
