Abstract: A towel securing apparatus is disclosed. The towel securing apparatus comprises a strip of material that is formed into a loop, and has a label attached to the loop. It is contemplated that the label may be used for advertising and various other types of promotional purposes (e.g. sports teams, etc. . . . ). It is also contemplated that the apparatus may be installed on a chair such that the label is oriented on the back side of the chair. Additional embodiments provide for various ways to attach an item to the apparatus. This serves to keep common items handy (e.g. sunglasses, camera, etc. . . . ) while at an outdoor venue, such as the beach, pool, on a boat, or at a concert, for example.

Abstract: An ornamental device includes a first member adapted to be coupled to a personal item. The first member has a first end having a sidewall. A second member is releasably engagable with the first member, and is provided with a recess that receives the first end of the first member when the first and second members are engaged. The second member has a flange that contacts the sidewall of the first member substantially along a width of the sidewall when the first and second members are engaged. The first and second members are magnetically coupled, such that the magnetic interaction, and the interaction of the flange with the sidewall, secures a decorative second member to a personal item in a selected location.

Abstract: The objective of the invention is to enable the easy installation and displaying of a quilt, textile or similar on a vertical mounting surface invisibly. It also removes the critical need for leveling devices to obtain precision horizontal installation, still allowing for proper horizontal display of the quilt. The use of powerful magnets, center point mounting, and variable length rod enables display and easy switching out of different sized textiles. Using an adjustable rod across the full width of the quilt ensures proper support as well as full exposure of the quilt for viewing without the distraction of the mounting device itself being evident. Options in device mounting make it possible to remove and re-install without damaging the vertical surface on which it was mounted. As no compression of the textile is used with this invention, uneven fading (evident in most textiles exposed to light) of the quilt will not occur.

The towel holding apparatus further includes a holding assembly. The holding assembly includes a second set of magnets removably coupled to the first set of magnets of the attachment assembly. Further, the holding assembly includes a second connector removably engaged with the second set of magnets, and a holding member detachably attached to the second connector. The holding member is capable of removably holding the towel.

The selection of the magnetic set and/or the position of the outer and inner magnetic pieces are modified until the design objectives are met.

Abstract: The present invention includes embodiments of apparatuses, systems and methods for providing a retractable computer mouse pad for use with a portable computer or other computing device, terminal or peripheral in which the mouse pad may be extended during use, and retracted when not in use. In some embodiments a drawer-like structure is attached underneath the computing device, from which one or more mouse pads may be extended and retracted. In several embodiments, the mouse pad is provided with a magnetically attractive material, and the mouse is provided with one or more magnets for attractive engagement with such material, in order to allow the user to let go of the mouse when not in use without concern that the mouse might change position or slip off the mouse pad.

The force mechanism applies a repulsive force between the second section and the first section so that when the pin is aligned with the hooked poration, the repulsive force drives the pin into the hooked portion, thereby inhibiting the second section from disengaging the first section.

Abstract: An apparatus for easy holding of a trash bag in a container: It comprises of a) a holder made of two magnetically coupled pieces which can engage or disengage with each other; and b) a container, having an open end, with one of the two holding pieces attached rigidly to an outside portion of the container. When placing a portion of a trash bag inside the container with part of the outside portion being captured by the two holding pieces in the coupled state, the trash bag is consequently folded around the rim of the container and around the two magnetically coupled pieces. The resulting total folding angle of the trash bag is greater than 210° which greatly reduces the force needed to hold a heavy trash bag at the coupling section of the two holding pieces. The apparatus can be easily operated with one hand.

Abstract: An improved connecting device for assembling two components is described. The device comprises at least one magnetic male component and at least one magnetic female component. A male component comprises a bull-nose or beveled end integral with a hook and a magnet. A female component comprises an aperture with a guiding curvature, a groove in the same side with the guiding curvature, and a magnet receptacle or magnetic portion to which the magnet of the male component can be attached. A magnetic force between the magnet and the magnetic element of the receptacle in combination with the curved shapes of the female and male components achieve safe and secure engagement of the two components. The components of the device are located in the backside, thereby creating an unalterable appearance from the front. The device is interchangeable in a countless number of combinations.

Abstract: A portable securement system for docking eyewear to a user's garment for temporary safekeeping. Hidden in use, the system docking device is a pendant construction to be mounted on button threads behind a garment placard. There it is anchored while a magnet secured at the device's lower portion secures eyewear for easy retrieval. The docking device includes an opening at its central portion to be placed over the button, with a narrowed portion engaging the threads and serving as an anchoring trap to hold the device in place. As an alternative, a wire-like segment defines the device's central opening and terminates at opposed ends at an upper portion of the device to form a releasable clip employed to anchor the device to the garment inner seam. Abstract: An illuminated article of adornment, such as jewelry, having a conductor loop, a magnetically connectable clasp housing a removable battery, and a medallion having internal light emitting diode (“LED”). The clasp consists of two magnetically connectable clasp components, at least one of which is adapted with an interior chamber for containing a battery power source. Each clasp component includes a vertex end connected to an electrical conductor, and a magnetically attractable base. At least one of the clasp components contains a magnet thereby allowing the clasp components to be magnetically connectable in base-to-base relation without requiring precise manual alignment. No further mechanical connection is required. Once connected the clasp completes an electrical circuit resulting in the illumination of an LED electrically connected to the necklace opposite the clasp portion. The LED is preferably connected to or embedded within a crystal to enhance the illumination effect.

Abstract: A system for securing a metallic item in a purse is disclosed and comprises a first magnet for positioning exterior on the exterior face of the purse wall, and a second magnet for positioning in the purse interior on the interior face of the wall, the second magnet being magnetically attracted to the first magnet. An ornament may be mounted on the first magnet to obscure at least a portion of the first magnet. A method includes positioning the first magnet adjacent to the exterior face of the wall, positioning the second magnet adjacent to the interior face at a location that is substantially opposite of the first magnet such that magnetic attraction pulls the first and second magnets toward each other on the opposite wall faces, and moving the metallic item into the interior and bringing the item into contact with the second magnet such that the item is magnetically attracted thereto.

Abstract: The present invention is an improved jewelry clasp. In particular, the present invention is directed to a jewelry clasp that allows for stringing objects but secures strung objects when removed from a user's neck. A preferred embodiment of the invention is a necklace with threaded ends. Each end preferably is threaded into a threaded section rotatably attached to a magnet. Each magnet is magnetically and removeablely attached to the other magnet. Thus, beads or other objects can be strung onto one threaded end of the necklace and then secured by the threaded section and clasped with the magnets.

Abstract: The invention relates to a wireless communication device that attaches using magnetic force in whole or part to an article of manufacture, or other material having a magnetic surface portion. The wireless communication device contains a form of a magnet to provide magnetic force and attraction. A magnet can be a natural magnet, electromagnet or other type of material having magnetic properties. The wireless communication device may be detached from the article by altering the magnetic force created by its associated magnet. Altering is accomplished by using an external device or a device internal to the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device is also operable to receive and communicate information regarding the article to which it is attached remotely for identification, informative, and tracking purposes.
