Abstract: A system is provided for securely attaching a portable device to the clothing or other personal item of a user. The system utilizes a modified retaining clip, the retaining clip being pivotably mounted to the device housing. As modified, the retaining clip may be locked in a closed position, thus preventing the portable device from being easily dislodged from the selected personal article. In one embodiment, an adjustable separator is interposed between one end of the mounting clip and the device housing. By controlling the amount that the first end of the clip can be depressed, the separator also controls the size of the gap between the second end of the clip and the device housing. In a second embodiment, the modified retaining clip includes a pair of flexible projections proximate one end of the clip as well as a compression mechanism. The compression mechanism controls the gap between the two flexible projections, thus controlling the relative flexibility of the projections.

Abstract: A clip assembly for attachment to a body or housing, in particular a portable electronic apparatus, includes an elongated clip member and a leaf spring member for biasing the clip member toward the body or housing. The leaf spring member extends in a longitudinal direction of the clip member, and is attached at a first end to the clip member at a position between a first and second end of the clip member. A second end of the leaf spring member extends in the direction of the second end of the clip member to contact and exert pressure against the body or housing. The clip member is easy to assemble and can be releasably attached to the body or housing by snap fittings or similar devices.

Abstract: Holder apparatus for releasably supporting an electrically operated device is formed from a bent wire. The apparatus includes three wire segments for selectively clampingly engaging the belt clip of the device. The holder apparatus serves the dual function of supporting the device and acting as a heat sink to dissipate heat from the device.

Abstract: A detachable clip assembly has a clip member which is removably engaged with a securing seat fixed to the back of a pager, a remote controller, a cell phone and a leather pocket etc. The securing seat has a positioning hole at the upper portion thereof. The clip member has a spring biased push plate on which a press button having a projected rib is disposed. The push plate is inserted into the securing seat with the projected rib engaged with the positioning hole for locking purpose. The press button can be actuated to get the projected rib to engaged with or disengaged from the positioning hole so that the clip member can be either removed from the securing seat or secured to the same as one desires.

Abstract: A semi-rigid, elastically resilient clip is releasably fastenable to the side of a handgun to provide support for the handgun upon a user's clothing or on a mounting bracket on a support structure. The clip may be attached by bolting to a handgun or, in the case of automatic weapons having a barrel slide movable relative to a gun body, it may be attached by engagement of a clip bracket between the gun body and barrel slide portions.

Abstract: A wall switch housing include a wiring box, a predetermined number of resilient pieces, a predetermined number of connection nails, and a cover plate. The wiring box is provided therein with a plurality of locating projections for holding securely the resilient pieces. The cover plate is provided with a plurality of retaining holes corresponding in location to the resilient pieces and engageable with the connection nails for locating securely the cover plate.

Abstract: A durable holder for retaining and displaying cards is disclosed. When the holder is manufactured from opaque materials, an inserted card is readily displayed to viewers without requiring removal of the card. The holder includes a clip for securing the holder to an object quickly and efficiently. A second clip may be secured to the first clip thereby further allowing the holder to be alternately attached to other articles.

Abstract: A badge clip secures a badge to an attaching member which enables the badge to be worn or carried by a person. The badge clip includes a fixed leg having a first end portion and an opposite second end portion with a curled barrel formation, and a movable leg having a first end portion which is reversely bent from the first end portion of the fixed leg, and an opposite second end portion which is engageable with the curled barrel formation of the fixed leg. The movable leg is pivotally movable between an open position and a closed position, the movable leg being biased to its closed position. The arrangement is such that the curled barrel formation of the fixed leg is capable of receiving a badge having an opening formed therein for securing the badge to the badge clip. The curled barrel formation is received through the opening of the badge when the movable leg is in its open position. The badge is secured to the badge clip when the movable leg resiliently returns to its closed position.

Abstract: A clip-on towel is disclosed for use in sports and other activities where a readily accessible towel is advantageous. A first embodiment of the clip-on towel includes a clip portion that fits through an aperture in a towel portion and is adapted to engage the waistband of a user. The clip portion is attached to the towel by way of a restricted aperture thus eliminating the need for employing fasteners to attach the clip to the towel. A second embodiment includes a clip that is sewn to the towel and features a break away finger portion. If excessive force is applied to the clip, the towel breaks away from the user. The clip can be reassembled after breaking away inasmuch as it is designed to non-destructively separate.

Abstract: A strap fastener for releasably connecting a belt to the body of a bag comprises a base plate adapted to be mounted on the body of the bag, and a cover plate pivotably connected to the base plate and releasably lockable on the base plate. The cover plate has at least one slot for the passage therethrough of the belt and receptive of a presser projection of the base plate. When the cover plate is locked on the base plate, the presser projection is received in the slot and urges the belt against a portion of the cover plate defining the slot to retain the belt on the strap fastener.

Abstract: A device for tensioning belts or the like, comprising a first portion adapted to have one end of the belt fastened thereto and a second portion adapted to be brought into engagement with a portion of the belt spaced through a distance from one end of the belt and locating the same in the tensioning position vis-a-vis the first portion, whereby the two portions which are formed of synthetic material are adapted to be connected to each other and to the belt in a manner to be pivotable such that upon pivotal movement into the tensioning position a limited shortening occurs in the length clamped by the belt between the two points that have been established, and in that the portions are interlockable in the clamping position via an arresting connection, said arresting connection being releasable by means of an actuation portion accessible from outside.

Abstract: A secure positively adjusting and locking buckle for saddle stirrup straps is provided in which the buckle components cannot slide on the strap following proper adjustment. The buckle components cannot be separated and lost. When locked, the buckle has a very compact configuration. It includes a thin depending metal strip sandwiched between strap layers by means of which the stirrup leather can have a permanent twist imparted to it to cause the stirrup to hang properly.
